Was LadyStars the one who couldn't pay her trash bill and then Peas (including me) sent her money and she posted a picture of a new ring not long after? and also went to Disney?
And was she the same one who had all of her scrapbook stuff stolen out of her car?
I remember all of these stories when I read them here, but many of them I'd never remember on my own.
Honestly, all remember about her is that she scammed a bunch of peas and a Cropper Hopper full of scrapbook supplies was involved. I too had forgotten a lot of all these different stories as well, but other people's recollections are sparking some of my own. LOL "Cropper Hopper" that's a blast from the scrapbook supplies past.

+2. Although I did not post a lot, and only joined in 2009. I lurked a lot. I realized lately that with this board, I lurked so much I felt like I *knew" people, but that they likely couldn't say the same about me. And it was probably time that I participated more, instead of lurking.

Anyone else grateful that they’re so “vanilla” that their name will never be mentioned in a thread like this (good or bad)? ;D Seriously! I used a different name on the old board, but I haven't come up! Whew!

There was a pea who had some kind of kidney issue or some kind of rare leukemia, and I think was on the waiting list for kidney transplant and maybe got one? I can't remember her name, or all the details of it. She used to write a blog and they maybe had a little boy? There was some kind of controversy with her too. Has she already been named and I missed it because I still cant remember her name? That was Libis (Lizz). She had to have another kidney after having her child, I think. Then she scammed on the board looking for financial help. Then took her family to Disneyland.

Peas were told Libis needed money to keep the lights on. Except, in the days immediately following her transplant, she was posting on her blog about $100+ Target trips for non-essentials, paying off a vehicle and a trip to Disney. When called on it, her attitude was "I didn't receive that much in donations," and I think her dad even came on to tell us we were terrible people for calling her out. Someone upthread said Lizz is now a blogger with some sort of business. I just remember her as an ungrateful brat. ETA: A pea was at a crop that Lizz attended while this fiasco unfolded. Apparently, Ms. Keep the Lights On was talking about the possibility of purchasing a scrap store.

I remember a Pea who had a husband that stole a lot of money or merchandise? maybe from Hobby Lobby (he worked there and it had been going on for awhile) I was in the news because I remember someone posting a link to it and I read about it. I wonder if she stuck it out with him..stealing is a huge thing for me so idk if I could stay with my DH if he did something like that.

This thread is epic! Kinda reminds me of the 20 pagers from the old board.
Someone mentioned Skybar and I gasped.
Does anyone remember the woman who was married to a preacher and they were in the process of splitting up. He wanted his ties back and true to Pea form, people started mailing him ties by the boatload. I think that's when I realized the Peas were like a street gang: we'll put our own in their place, but mess with one Pea and you mess with all Peas.
I'd never remember all of these stories by myself, but the Pea-Hive...that's a collective miracle.

I would think if she had a list of IPs attached to a poster from each board it is then just a matter of matching them up. I know nothing about obtaining the IPs, but if that was possible then IDing posters wouldn’t have been difficult. Yeah I remember posters literally keeping SS of that kind of stuff on the eBay boards, and it was when people were less careful about what photo sharing source they used and eBay didn't always have PM system they have now. It was easier to get IP addys. Or sometimes people were just dumb and accidentally used their seller PB account on their posting ID or troll account. You couldn't just simply know who someone is by their ISP or magically out/locate everyone. Still interesting to see what lengths people will go to on the internet.

I just remember her as an ungrateful brat. Yep. There was a bit more to it. She got her first kidney transplant from her mother, was warned not to get pregnant as it might damage the kidney, but she wanted a child so she went ahead anyway. And yes, that kidney was affected, so then she had to go through it again & the second time her brother in law donated one. That's when the plea for money came in for all the medical bills, Miss Jen took it upon herself to bring it to the board saying "a dear pea friend needed our help" and there was a plea from Libis to keep "electricity in our wires, food in our fridge and a roof over our heads". Many people from the board donated quite generously (although I wasn't one of them) Then two things happened, firstly after the surgery she started posting about taking her son to Disney, people got upset because if she had money for Disney then she clearly had money to pay her bills before that. She then said she had been saving her "pennies in a jar" for a long time and this was her Disney money and she wasn't going to use it for boring thing like electricity bills. That didn't go down so well. Secondly, she was doing well after her surgery and posting, but it was noticed she never said thank-you for any of the donations. A few people said she would have had the email addresses via paypal of everyone who donated, she could have sent out a group thank-you...people didn't want individual cards, but felt some sort of thanks was expected. There was silence for some time and eventually she came back and posted a really pissy message that basically said "well you all demanded a thank-you so this is it" Strike two. She was a spoiled brat who literally took bodily organs from others and then expected strangers to fund all her bills so she could go to Disney and "make memories". Then seemingly her "Dad" posted about loaning her the money for a Scrapbook store.

The peas had really rallied around her, and she just seemed like she felt entitled to it - until it all came crashing down. So vile. *deleted and reposted this response, my laptop did something crazy where my post was huge with a crazy amount of spaces, lol - sorry.

I know nothing about obtaining the IPs, but if that was possible then IDing posters wouldn’t have been difficult Ok, I hadn't looked at it that way and that makes a bit more sense (I was looking at it from the point of view of "real" identity not just the 2 Peas one), but still a good chunk of guesswork/speculation would be involved. I know back then my IP address wasn't static. Sometimes I'd post from work etc. I'm sure others did too. In that scenario I guess it may have been possible to make an educated guess at some of the more prolific posters if there were posting at both sites regularly, but there would have also been a big margin for error and probably some people accused who had nothing to do with it. And really all of that because she was upset that she got caught out photoshopping her abdomen and some people made fun of her?? I was never a blog poster, but after that, I did occasionally go and read...mostly to get more information on things that I'd missed when 2Ps threads got deleted and I wanted to know what went down. I didn't read regularly because much of it seemed to be infighting and bitching between the blog posters. I saw my name there, they weren't positive comments, but really, do people live in a bubble where they think everyone adores them? Shrug your shoulders and move on, or stop reading. But OD & Seanna took it to overreaction level 11.

I clearly remember this one, cause her Dad came on to tell us that we had no idea how rough life had been for her, with her medical issues and almost dying. She deserved to do whatever she wanted with that money. And of course a couple of us had to inform him we did know. Pretty much told him the first time I was told I was dying I was 5, so he could shove it up his ass. Being close to death and surviving doesn’t give a pass to take advantage of people. Wanker, that whole situation was messed up.

pjaye Yeah I’m not at all okay with what she did either. I can just see how it might have worked to identify some posters from both places. Though, I don’t see how there would be any false positives (what are the chances that two peas were randomly assigned the same temporary IP addresses?) I don’t think I ever even went over to check out the blog.

First of all, after reading this I realized how old I feel because I remember almost all of these old stories. And second, you all must have not hung out much on the GS boards (I was there more than NSBR cause I was pretty much scared of that board, lol) but there was an EPIC thread somebody started about a YT video craft share of something like that. The woman was close to a hoarder (Laura something comes to mind?), anyway comments were made and this woman's friends were Peatlejuiced to the GS board to defend her. The standout post to me was one of them called us a bunch of "Hippocrates" and it was the funniest thing ever. Epic thread! The woman and some of her friends posted YT videos about the Peas and then more of her friends came to the board to defend her again. I wish I would have saved that thread cause it was the most action on the GS boards other than the Gate threads. And I can't believe I remember that many details. Any GS board peas remember this? Was it Scrapping Latina? I used to watch her videos sometimes. She posted a room tour one time and opened one of those little white library card catalog drawers that used to come four-to-a-cube and shoved it back closed again and said that was where she hid the credit card statements from her husband. Then a little while after that room tour, which was STUFFED to the gills and by that point she had made like one or two scrapbook pages ever, a whole wall of paper collapsed and she filmed this breathless aftermath video. Then she moved her room upstairs and completely jammed it full again, and then I think she moved it somewhere else and it was totally crammed, but she has been posting "destash" videos in the last year or two. I felt bad for her. There was clearly a problem. On the other hand, one of the reasons I used to watch her videos was as a kind of cautionary tale because I can hoard some paper crafting stuff.... Yes, I think that is who it was. I didn't see the video as it had been deleted or the channel was private afterwards.

I would do it again. I paid a price for it, but I regret nothing What a martyr to the cause! I seriously can't believe that, all those years and (hopefully) gained maturity and you'd do it again? Fuck me. You got yourself embroiled with one self absorbed woman who posted a bikini shot of herself on a board full of other women and that lead to personal threats, legal action threats, message board banning and literally months of your life wasted thinking about this and you'd do it again? That's just mind boggling. If you need to be the central figure in that much self created drama, then there are bigger problems you should be dealing with. OD being "really hurt"? she photoshopped bikini pics of herself to brag about how good she looks on a board full of women (who like your friend) probably aren't as thin/plastic surgeried/fake haired/photoshopped...Blind Freddy could have seen what would happen there. Did she think no-one would notice she didn't have a navel? You were "blindsided" that someone on the internet said mean things about someone else? Bullshit, you were one of the original mean girls and you revelled in it, don't rewrite history now, you knew exactly what you and others did to amuse yourselves. And now you're styling yourself as some sort of "peacemaker" in this fiasco, seriously? No, you're more like one of those firefighters who sets fires so they can go and put them out and then be hailed a hero. I actually still do not believe for one second she or anyone else was able to identify people based on an IP address. They may have got a location and it would have been all guesswork from there. You'd need to contact every ISP and have them give you the details of the person with that IP. But you stick to that narrative if you feel it validates you. I used to look back and feel a bit sorry for you getting caught up in it all...but now this, 10+ years later and you've gained no rational insight at all? Almost impossible to believe and changes my opinion quite significantly. You asked me to not interact with you any longer some time ago. I have always liked you and we share a mutual love of Russian Blues, but I respected your request. Are we now interacting again? I'll assume yes. It seems you are invested in your version of my history, which strikes me as a bit odd but okay. I stand by everything I said. I lived it, after all. And I do not have a moment's regret for helping someone "out" the nasty women who posted vicious and cruel things anonymously on those awful blogs. They actually were never outed, by the way; that was up to OceanDreamer. I would do it again. I have an informatics degree; I am pretty well aware of how IPs work. I even had to learn how to subnet IP networks, though I will probably never use that in my work. Months of my life were not wasted on this. I was certainly not presented with, nor did I issue, legal threats over it. In fact; the opposite is true. It liberated me from 2Peas and from that point on, I dipped my toe in now and again, and that's been the extent of my 2 Peas experience other than shopping there before they shut their business down. Most of my involvement on this site has actually been on the scrapbooking side. I scrapbooked tonight. I scrapbook often. All these years later and I still love it. You're saying some pretty mean stuff about OceanDreamer. Are you so sure she no longer posts here? Or do you just not care. I actually don't know; I've not been around much on NSBR. Anyway, hopefully she has never even heard of this site. It's good that you no longer feel sorry for me. I find that distasteful. And again: I regret nothing about that. I never will. The bad guys in that scenario were the disgusting pigs who posted vicious and cruel stuff about people anonymously. Don't you worry about my maturity. I've successfully raised three great daughters and we are a tight unit. One is married; all are college graduates. I have been married for over 30 years (to the same guy!) and I have entered my thirteenth year working for the same employer, although that will be changing soon. I should receive my MBA in the next several months and will be moving on to a slightly different field. I live in a great, old, historic neighborhood and am active volunteering along with my neighbors to make where I live a better place. As I type this, my little Russian Blue, Zoe, is sleeping on my lap. I also have a Great Pyrenees puppy who gives me a run for my money every day and he's a terrible, awful, amazing angel dog. Life moves on. It's not 2006 anymore (or was it 2005? somewhere in there.). That was a long time ago. Life was good then; life is even better now. I hope it's the same for you, Pjaye.

I can remember on the scrapping thread, someone brought a cow stamp from the $1-spot from Michael's(?) and EVERYONE had to have one. Peas were buying that stamp for other peas, mailing them to other parts of the country, and there was cow-cards posted in the gallery. Someone even created a thread of cow sayings to use....MOOchas Gracius, Thank MOO etc
It was a skinny cow - and I was quite jealous that I would never have that cow stamp

I miss GrinningCat's sensibility. I am glad she found love before leaving this earth.
I also miss Heartcat's posts. I never had any drama with her.
I miss Akathy.
I love this damn place. 18-19yrs?
I teach 2 sections of a course on communities and I tried to describe this place as a long term online community to students last week, some of whom weren't born yet when I started coming here. Many of you were young moms and are now empty nesters. We've been growing up together. Seeing kids grow up. Jobs changing, marriages ending and new beginnings. We've been celebrated together and reminisced, like this thread...which is awesome, by the way. I've learned so much here...your mom isn't supposed to throw your baby shower. Kitten heels are perfection. Uncrustables and frozen crockpot kits are not. My own journey has been a little nontraditional and this community gave me a window in to experiences I didn't have but appreciate knowing about. I've been tickled reading these memories tonight.
Again, this place is awesome. When it's not, it's not. But like any family, we'll end up dealing with our own.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Though, I don’t see how there would be any false positives (what are the chances that two peas were randomly assigned the same temporary IP addresses?) I just meant if you're looking at a spreadsheet full of numbers it would be easy to get some numbers mixed up or look down the wrong column etc. This was two bored housewives out for revenge, not exactly Price Waterhouse : : and as we saw at the Oscars, even they can get things mixed up sometimes. There's always people with mental health issues on message boards and we've had our fair share of them. If one of those people was falsely accused (or even rightly accused) it could have had serious repercussions. Now to provide some entertainment for everyone.... This...see above. I've read plenty of mean things about myself...doesn't make me go on a vendetta to "get" people and make them pay or go begging to others for help. I've also been accused of posting on blogs (which I never did) and having alternate IDs (also a no...as you can see...why would I need to?) But I'm not a delicate little flower. I stand up for myself in the moment and say what I want to say, then I just shrug it off and move on. My self esteem is pretty much unaffected by what happens here. That was just a next level power trip you were both on to "get people back" for what they said. You asked me to not interact with you any longer some time ago. I have always liked you and we share a mutual love of Russian Blues, but I respected your request. Are we now interacting again? I'll assume yes I had no intention until you outed yourself. I could have done it but didn't...although you've always made sure I knew who you were. It's that bullshit "I've always liked you" that you trot out EVERY time that annoys the fuck out of me...and just like a broken record here you are doing it again. Back on the old board you used me as your token misfit. You got a kick out of posting that whenever I got into some spat or another with Lauren or Yvonne or Melanie. You'd start your rebukes with "I've always liked you" and then get right in the dirt with the rest of them. Then you'd private message me and say totally different things. Guilt? probably. I see straight through the "I've always liked you" crap for what it is, your little badge of honour i.e your pride in yourself because you want to look like you are sticking up for someone others don't like. Well that shtick is far to old, as are you to still be doing it all these years later. I wasn't then and still am not now in need of your pretend defence of my character. Move on. /interaction.

I had no intention until you outed yourself. I could have done it but didn't...although you've always made sure I knew who you were. She has her name in her signature and used the same or a similar avatar photo. I wouldn't pat myself on the back too hard.
