I love it when I can get Creative Memories stuff at goodwill. Especially their tools. I can't pass up on the good deals. And if I have the tool, I just buy it anyway and pass along to one of my scrappy friends lol

It'd be nice - and I realize that my lack is 100% my own fault for being an extreme introvert that doesn't like meeting new people. Gotta love the illogicality of emotions.

I’m right there with you—but in spirit only. To literally be right there with you, I’d have to get my introverted self out of my pjs and actually leave my house...yikes!

Alright my fellow thrifters...I've been meaning to do this awhile and finally getting around to it. Posting in this thread specifically FOR my thrifty friends. I bought a box Close to my Heart storage box with several sets of clear cling stamps in it several months ago and I am only keeping the alphas. The rest are up for grabs in 2 RAK bundles of three. If you would like one of the two RAK lots please comment and specify which one. I'll give it until Saturday morning and then check back. If there are more than one person wanting a set I'll roll a die or randomize to select. Sorry but I can only ship to US addresses.

pastlifepea, I don't post much in this thread because I don't find much crafty thrift items. When I do, you know I've just got to share. I'm pretty frequently giving the thumbs up to people though. If you don't think I qualify because I don't post enough I totally understand. I hope you'll consider me for the RAK of lot number 1. I lead the monthly tag sale, thrift store, and bargain thread on NSBR. Some folks post on both threads which I like to see.

Struck up a conversation with a FB marketplace seller and found out she is clearing out her mother’s house. I might be getting a big lot of ephemera, booklets and old magazines from her. Her prices are VERY reasonable. I’m hoping we can make a deal. 😃

Goodwill, yesterday: Cars lined up at the donation door. Inside, the craft section was huge and overflowing with all kinds of stuff. I was a little overwhelmed and only got 1 piece of pp and some stationary. The prices on some of it were not good and I have too much stuff already.
Trying to decide if I should go back today. Apparently there is a bunch of purging going on around here!

I went to an AC Moore over the weekend and they were basically cleaned out. I did manage to find a few things however - 4 stamp/die cut sets for $2 each, a washi tape set for $1 and a Jolee's sticker for one cent!

Our thrift stores ALWAYS have Creative Memories items! I have a 18 gallon bin FULL of albums, page protectors, papers, stickers and toools to sell cheap. I will be listing them soon on the PEA board or FB group.
I have to destash this year. I can hardly find the items I need when working on a project.

It's been slim pickings the last month or so, but today persistence paid off! Three engineer's/architects rulers, in different scales, two set squares, a 360° protractor, stencils for interior design elements and "Modern Bold" lettering. A pack of stencils - they had more but I wasn't interested in flowers or any really large designs. Picked up a 12x12" forest, and 6x6" "Mini Coffee Splotch", tangled roots, overlapping circles, mismatched stone, geometric chrysanthemum and diamond grid. Two organizer / storage sheets for the Creative Memories cutting system, and a nearly full pack of lightweight cardstock from Paper Source. Colours are Slate, Peacock, Fuchsia, Clover, Sunshine, Night, Pool, Persimmon, Coral and Beet. For my toy/video game collections, two vintage (it scares me that anything I can remember in retail stores is now considered vintage) Pokemon binders, and Kirby Squeak Squad for the Nintendo DS. Paid <10$ for everything.

Went to a huge antique mall where lots of vendors were having sales. One booth had stuff piled high and stuffed in every nook and cranny and a 60% sign! You better believe I spent ages sorting through piles of paper items. Scored 3 WW II scrapbooks stuffed with ephemera for $3 each and a bag of old business postcards for $1. I might go back for 2 other scrapbooks. Picked up numerous other paper items and a vintage vase some, 1900 catalogs and childrens books too. There were a few splurges but overall some great deals. I can’t wait to sit down to read through and scan everything. Off to another mall tomorrow.

Hit the local indoor flea market again, this place is dangerous. Picked up a stack of 1945 Life magazines that had lots of great color ads, 3 old books with fantastic illustrations, numerous postcards and old photos for my collage journal, some old receipts and an adorable teeny deck of Old Maid cards which I collect. All vendors were willing to haggle which is why I like flea markets, got some great deals.
I love the people I meet at the markets too. Chatted with a lady who seemed quite the character. She was a 78 year old collager and junk journaler who loves everything victorian. I would have loved to pal around with her all day!

Do I need more stamps? No. Did I buy these anyways? Sure did! Where do I even start... all of this came out of two bags (!) of stuff. The first was ~1.50$ and had the "Sugar Candy" cardstock assortment, Heidi Swapp 6x8" pad, Studio Calico 6x6" "Wanderlust" pad, and Craftsmith "Crystal Frost" pad. Also tagging along was a set of six Testors acrylic paints, surprisingly still usable. The other bag had stamps. Lots of stamps. Too many stamps, most of which I don't know where they came from and probably some I won't use, but for 4.75$ how could I say no? Upper and lower case scripty alphabet, scribble flourishes, a halloween set, flourish-y ivy thing with swallows, three vintage/travel sheets, two planner sets, one with large scrapbooking titles, assorted hearts, corner flourishes, giant flowers, one that looks like an adult colouring book, and four misc. small sheets. *takes breath* A Studio G silver ink pad, giraffe stickers and red rubber tree building set (formerly wood mounted but I already had them off the wood before I remembered to take a picture), some quote and travel stickers, four pieces of heavy duty magnetic strip, and two EK corner punches (1/2 and 1"). Rory's Story Cubes (3$) because I couldn't resist the unique dice. *has something of a dice hoard* They had Glue dots two boxes for 3$, all of which I left behind, and a ton of other stamps, paper, full size cardstock stacks for 6$, and loads of ephemera, but I think I walked off with the best bits. I miss going to flea markets, you're lucky to still have local ones pas2! Always such interesting people at them, and tons and tons of unique stuff.

Goodwill find: Close to my Hear stamp pad storage system that holds at least 30 pads and was stocked full. Ink pads delightfully inked. $9.99, and gave to my daughter because I am stamping impaired.

That's an amazing buy! I'm not a big stamper but I'd have snatched that one up in an instant. Yesterday brought some great cardstock my way though, so I can't at all complain.
From top to bottom, left to right: Primary 8.5x11" Paper Company basics (red/orange/yellow/green/blue), ~40 sheets.
Recollections light linen 12x12" open cardstock (dark purple/lavender/blue/mint/plum/spice/burnt umber/red/cream) Recollections shimmer/metallic 12x12" open cardstock (yellow/champagne/gold/copper/silver/blue/lavender/black) and speckle (white/red) Some specialty stuff - two sheets of plastic with pink flowers, some strange corrugated stock in black/gold/silver. What does one use this stuff for even?! Recollections basics paper 12x12" (red dots / purple / disney / plaid / stripes / etc.)
Recollections 12x12" glitter cardstock (peacock/green plaid/butterflies). Not something I use much, but these seem extremely well adhered and no shedding so maybe?
All in all a good solid 2" plus of coloured cardstock, ~5.50$ Canadian. Spent a happy hour or so sorting it into my hanging folders and organizers. Before that, a less happy hour peeling all the individual UPC stickers off every sheet!

One of my good scrappy friends is an introvert. I have made 24 page kits for her since Christmas. Find an extroverted scrapper. We do make good scrapping buddies. I do chat a lot, so I do try to remember to shut up now and then because I know she likes it quiet sometimes.

Saw someone has planners for sale for $12 each on marketplace that just went on clearance at HL! Surely they realize that people that shop FB Marketplace are looking for a deal and know the local stores pricing. Yet they still ask for ridiculous prices for items.
As for my latest haul, I bought more lace at GW only because some of it was old. I really don’t need more lace. Also a plastic cassette tape storage box with lid that I can add dividers to and use for ephemera or PL storage on my desk.

I picked up the cicle and oval cutting shapes at a flea market but they didn't have the blades so theose have been on my list for a while. I was at my creative reuse spot sometime later looking through the tools and there was the little cardboard box they came in, yes! The box was empty. I was not able to find them, I feel like I just missed them! I do know I can get them online, but it's about the hunt more than anything!

Storage and organization stuff is one of the more consistent deals at thrift - there's always something, be it binders, boxes, tins, home office leftovers, etc. This week was a bust as far as scrappy goodness went. There were plenty of options, but nothing good enough to bring home. Lots of bags of stamps on wooden blocks and some loose, fabric paint, the usual assortment of dollar store stuff. There were a few bags of random scrapbook ephemera but overpriced and not in styles I'd ever use, so they stayed on the pegs. Also saw an initially promising set of thin liners in a fancy box, but they were all dried up. They look cool, but what's the point of pens that don't even work? They are refillable, but I wouldn't trust them to not dry out again, so it was a pass. The box was also very verbose about how "special" these magnetic markers were, but said absolutely nothing about if they were archival, waterbased or not, lightfastness, you know - the things that matter. Sheesh. I did score two Wii games (Skyward Sword, Aragon's Quest) and a board game (The Resistance).

I'm in Canada, but I could mail them to you.

I had them, so I gave them to my teacher friend. It was such a good buy that I had to get them.

I think this is the time of year for people to spring clean and get rid of stuff.
I am doing a 40 bags in 40 days for lent! So far I have two white garbage bags of clothes, a partial bag of shoes and a huge bin of 12x12 paper that is going!

Picked up a large bag of what I thought was greeting cards. It turned out to be encouragement and get well cards, USED cards. It was sad reading about their illness and sweet to see how many people cared about them. There were also christmas photos. All this just tied in a baggie and dumped at Goodwill.

At a local fire company garage sale I came across several decks of old playing cards including Aircraft Recognition deck and an old word game complete in the case called Royalty. Also bought a small album filled with victorian calling cards. They aren’t in perfect shape but will work for my vintage collages.

I've seen similar stuff - photo albums, in particular. It happens a lot, when someone dies and either there are no relatives, or no one that wants their old memories. Stuff just ends up out in the wild. I'd guess even more of it winds up as landfill or in the recycling. We're all but a blink in the eyes of the universe.
