I can finally post a thrifty find. The lady kept a few things, but I bought all of her mother in law's craft supplies...the only thing she kept that I really wanted was the SU cardstock. It was a bargain. Would have loved a better deal, but I'm quite happy for all this for $200. Hundreds of loose stamps, maybe 100 SU stamp sets, SU and other inks, some refills, all sorts of accessories and what I went there for to begin with: a hundred or so punches. Lady said she didn't think they'd sell at a garage sale. I think she was wrong. Might try and sell a few stamp sets if there are enough HTF ones to make my money back. It looks like less in the boxes, but there is so much here!! http://instagr.am/p/Ch5OwdYP3oO That is a great deal. Punches are so dang expensive. My local second hand craft store sell theirs for $2-6, so you got a deal!

It probably ended up more than that with the number of boxes filled, but it took up our entire car. I'm over the moon because these listings don't pop up in Vegas. She just moved it all here from Arizona, which is weird to me if you're going to sell it all, but it worked out for me. It is going to take me weeks to sort it all and decide what to do with it.

If anyone is in the market for SU stamp sets checkout the antique malls, Goodwill and FB Marketplace. I have seen soooo many for sale in the last few weeks. earlier this year, DH and i wandered into a goodwill in another county. off in a corner was a huge box full of SU stamp sets. tons and tons of them. i guess even the secondary markets must be glutted because as packed as the store was, no one even gave them a glance. i didn't see anything i like so i passed too. speaking of FB marketplace, someone placed an ad for the SU stamp caddy with 40 stamp pads and tons of ink refills. $40 for everything. i did get that.

That's an insane haul - even just the punches alone would fetch more than 200$. Is that a bin of alcohol markers? Looks like the former owner was a heavy shopper but not much of an actual crafter, given how much stuff there looks brand new. Congrats!

That's an insane haul - even just the punches alone would fetch more than 200$. Is that a bin of alcohol markers? Looks like the former owner was a heavy shopper but not much of an actual crafter, given how much stuff there looks brand new. Congrats! The markers are the stamp n write ones. Definitely a very old set since most of the names are colors I've never heard of. Most of the stuff shows a good deal of use. There are a lot of things that aren't used, but most things will probably be forever stained from being well used even if I put a lot of work into cleaning them. Most of the SU sets even have samples cut out from catalogs or printed out from elsewhere along with slips of paper with inks and other accessories to use to recreate the sample. One of my biggest issues in the past in buying used punches (that I paid a lot more for than I did these) are that they aren't sharp because they've been used in classrooms and such and I wasn't able to revive them with the usual tricks. So far, every punch I've tested works great with super clean lines...2 of them (the flat style, of which there are only 5) stick, but still punch well. The only ones that don't seem to punch like a die cut look like the left in die cuts that you punch out and I'm assuming they're meant to look like that. This was my first time using that style, so I can't say for sure. I'm used to the tiny novelty punches never working, even brand new, but even that type in this lot punch perfectly. I haven't gone through the big ones yet since the smaller ones were easier to clean and find homes for. There are SEVERAL high priced martha stewart punches (I hoped the SU round tab would be here, but it's not...none of the SU punches are super high value) such as a 4 leaf clover and the drippy goo border punch. Others that I don't understand the value of seem to also be going for a lot, too...a crab and sea star/sand dollar. I could sell the duplicate punches (I have a bunch of the larger whale tail style in the flat style) and the hard to find ones and make my money back, but the punches were what I was after to begin with, so I'm not planning on parting with those. I hope that I can list the SU stamps in a lot for like $1 per set on marketplace and find a buyer. Same with the inks (there are over 60 usable ink pads and about 15 ink refills). That alone, even at $1 each would be about break even for me and I'd still have the punches and other stuff that I want to keep, plus some to donate to some local groups that take craft supplies. In spite of a lot of it being well loved, you can tell she really took care of her supplies. My ONLY complaint is that one random box had a fine glitter (an iridescent clear at that) explosion that you wouldn't have expected it in (in a box of cardstock) and now it's all over my downstairs because I didn't realize the cardstock was covered in it until I pulled a huge stack out and plopped it on the floor. You can imagine that one movement made the problem so much worse. It's going to take me ages to clean it all up. My husband is not thrilled, lol.

I'm glad whomever had this collection before got good use out of it then, that's a much happier thought than winding up with a ton of unopened product.
Oh goodness, not tactical surprise glitter! That's the worst. I refuse to buy any glitter paper that sheds because there's just no way of containing all the stray sparkly confetti.

That’s a great haul! I don’t find a lot of secondhand supplies in my area but I did find an ATG at Goodwill once and was sooo excited! I can imagine how great of a feeling it is to score that much product at such a great price!

Found another woman selling off stuff, this time it is her mother's supplies instead of her mother in law's. I met up with her this morning. Sounds like her mom was someone who collected stuff as a lot of the things she's putting up in some resale groups have never been used. The punches I bought off of her were dirty and used...some had ink on them that I was able to remove with alcohol, some were discolored like they were kept in the sun and others were just brown (they didn't smell like cigarettes but idk what else it could have been...most of it wiped off with alcohol) but a lot of the stuff she's selling has never been used before. I messaged her about a stamp set I was interested in because it was missing 2 stamps and was wondering if she knew where they were...that's when I learned it wasn't her stuff. Anyway, she ended up pulling the listing and took my offer of $40 for 75 punches and GAVE ME the stamp/die set when I picked up the tote this morning...one has a broken locking mechanism and one is a punch around the page style that is missing the bottom and a few stick, all but one of those are still usable. My husband is youtubing to search for a way to apply lubricant...if he's successful, I'll be able to do the same to the others that don't stick as much, just to make them easier to use. Otherwise, they all work really well. I'll need to decide if it's worth selling the Jewish punches (a 6 pointed star and a dreidel...they're super small) and a couple of angel ones since I've got no need for them, but I will definitely try to sell some of them as there are some duplicates. I now have 2 of the supposedly very hard to find Martha Stewart drippy goo punches just in time for Halloween, one with the folding sides and one that is flat, but otherwise the same. Lowest price on eBay before shipping is $42, I think. I'll see if I can sell it for a tad less than eBay, but the objective is to sell some of the duplicates (honestly, some of the basic shapes are triplicates now) to make the ones I keep for myself free. I exchanged numbers with the lady to see what things she finds in the future that she might not want to ship (things like Lawn Fawn stamp/die sets she's listing for $12!!! that are on eBay for nearly $50, but even at those prices, I can't afford to buy much so I'm going for things with the best deals, which often come from things that are not the most fun to ship...like punches)...incredibly nice woman. I'm not sure if it was her natural disposition or not, but she gave the impression of being completely overwhelmed as it sounds like the house is FULL of craft product. I'd be game to barter my services in helping her sort through stuff because it would honestly be thrilling for me to do as I've never really seen another in real life craft room besides my own, but I'm a total stranger, so more than anything, she's probably wishing she had a friend as enthused as I was about all of what she was finding! Anyway, here's the latest find! Only a few miles away from the last woman, too! When it rains, it pours. I've looked for years to no avail and suddenly, I'm hitting paydirt! http://instagram.com/p/CiAyodSvaRF

Went to my second hand craft store and there was a bucket of beautifully labeled and stored dies/stamp sets (over 40) that were almost all Christmas sets from Taylored Expressions or Lawn Fawn. They were each $8 both the stamps and dies (in an Avery Elle envelope) and none of them had been used. I picked up 4 four of them.

If you're in or near Somerville, MA, here's a craft thrift store, Make & Mend. Their prices are all over the place and shipping is high, but they have fill-a-bag sales. I haven't been there, but just posting this in case it helps anyone.

My second hand store had unused Silhouette mats for $2 each. I went back and they were marked up to $6. Someone must have told them they were a steal. The $6 were from 2016, so I wasn't sure about the quality if they had been sitting in the sun.

The $6 were from 2016, so I wasn't sure about the quality if they had been sitting in the sun. Adhesive does not like UV exposure, so I'd be cautious about them. Kind of weird that they'd change the price though. You'd think if someone thought they were a great deal they'd have bought them all out first.

I bought the $2 ones several weeks ago and wasn't sure if these were in the same donation or if they just got new ones. They do change their prices often and if they get a lot of something, they'll usually decrease the price. Kind of hit or miss at this store.

http://instagram.com/p/C3qdBlFPefd I just found all of this at Savers. It appears to be from an event that this year will be held in burbank. It was $15.40 for everything. There are some sticko and paper house stickers I didn't photograph, but it is all brand new and I am stoked. Decided to try my luck at another store after this stop and ended up fleeing after telling off an old woman for deciding to pet my hair without bothering to say a word to me until I told her to remove her hands and keep them off of me. Pissed me off but didn't kill my excitement of this find!

A whole collection too! Looks like a lot of fun.
You'd think folks would have learned about personal space after Covid, but no. Don't touch people without consent, why is this so hard?
Haven't been thrifting much myself, again, the whole Covid thing, also prices have been terrible. I did pick up a cute bird die set, some embossing folders and stamps that were likely promos from one of the crafting / scrapbooking magazines last week.
