This challenge was all over the place. I liked the top 3. I thought Hester should have been in the bottom. Her clothes are like clown clothes. Tonight’s outfit could have worked great for a female trendy clown at the circus.
And did anybody notice that when they were interviewing her, Hester’s hat kept changing from “Please Die” to something else? Every time a judge would speak and they would flash back, her hat would have a different saying. I only noticed because I thought the Please Die was SO inappropriate, especially during a cause challenge.

My cause would be animal rescue. Don't ask me what kind of design I would create for it though They sent the right designer home. The outfit was poorly made and the cause did not come across at all. I thought Tessa's design was quite clever. I totally got the "my body is mine" message. Hester's was fun and colourful, totally her. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I LOVE Christian as a mentor. In fact, I love the whole revamp of the show. I hate that there are only a few weeks left. Hopefully, it will be back.

I thought they all were pretty good. I was worried for what's his name though...with the save the Bee's cause. He's been pretty spot on the rest of the yr though. In fact I picked him to win.

In fact, I love the whole revamp of the show I hate all of it! AS I've already said, I think I'm just too old for it now. Christian's smug attitude annoys me, he's not there to take credit like he did for suggesting the sequins...I wanted someone to slap that "told you so" look of his face. Tim would never have gloated like that if one of the judges liked something he suggested. He's not there to feed his own ego.
Karlie tries too hard to be relevant, her "kickass" comment this episode and her "hello?" from last week. They seem to be trying to speak to teenagers, although I doubt any teenagers are watching. Hate the new judges, esp the female who is obviously older but tries to dress like a 20yo. I can't take anything she says seriously.
Nina is the only one who still has some relevant insights and I suspect she wondering WTF she's still doing there among these amateurs.
I literally laughed out loud when Hester said she does "high fashion". That jacket looked like those toilet roll doll covers they had in the 1950s
and when she tried to defend her sad little turkey suit from last week claiming it was "impeccably made" when everyone in TV land could see for themselves that it wasn't.

Are you talking about Elaine Welteroth? who is "older"?? she's 32. She was/is an editor for Teen vogue.
I love Christian. I'm like his experience, and his suggestions.

The girls in teen Vogue are probably all 14 & 15yo and those aren't the same clothes a 32yo women looks good in. Although I'm willing to concede that perhaps it's not her natural style and instead that's what they make her wear for the show to project a "younger" image, but I don't think it's at all flattering for her. I'm not saying she looks old or that 32 is old, I'm saying that she looks too old to be wearing some of the outfits they've had her in on the show. They often criticise contestants for outfits being "junior" in look and now they have a judge who is dressed like that.

While I miss Tim and even Heidi to a certain extent, I do like Christian and Brandon. I did think this week that Tim is definitely a little more compassionate I guess with the contestants but I still am really liking Christian as a mentor as well. In fact, I'd like to see more of Christian maybe sitting with the judges during the show.
I still feel like the show is missing something I'm just not sure what it is!

As much as I miss Tim and Michael Kors (don't miss Heidi at all, all her taste was in her tongue), I'm enjoying this version. I was not a huge Christian fan during his season, but the little fellow has grown on me. He has a been there done that attitude that Tim couldn't have. Karlie is fine, doesn't irritate me (which is saying something). Hester is just one of those "LOOK AT ME" types. Yawn. But there has been enough interesting fashion to keep me engaged and that's all I can really ask for.

Dream dress episode. Yikes!!! It's not looking good for their dream dresses, is it?

Totally agree with who went, though either one of those final 2 could have gone. The 3 winning dresses were perfect

Either one of the bottom 2 could have gone home. Tessa should shut up. Brandon seems over her.
I know the mail lady loved her dress. But I hated how it puckered and pulled up in the front near the crotch area.
I am over Hester too. Her personal style is awful.

Wish Tessa went home. She's always making excuses and getting defensive. I wish Hester would have been eliminated weeks ago but for some reason they seem enamored with her.

I was really hoping Tessa was eliminated. Her attitude is terrible and she refuses to take in any constructive criticism or deviate from her personal style ever. I was hoping they would show the judges asking her client what she wanted for her dream dress. And did they edit out that the client liked black & grey to add to the drama over her design? And boy do I wish Christian didn't talk her into making a dress bc that might have been the final straw.
At least Jamal tried to please his client - he missed the mark with fabric choice & construction but accepted where he went wrong and is willing to learn from it.
And I am sooo over Hester. Most of her garments are poorly made and she missed with the pink & orange color combo...it can work but she didn't pick the right colors which is strange because she's good at mixing them for her own clothes but not on this.
Sebastian's dress was flawless. I loved Garo and Bishme's dresses too. All three women looked and felt beautiful.

I agree with all of this. I don't know why the judges like Hester so much. I think she's just weird!
I wish Tessa had gone home. I didn't like the losing dress any better than hers, but his attitude was MUCH better. At least he takes criticism. Tessa always has an excuse - I don't design for curvy women; I don't like color; everyone uses hem tape; I didn't have time to finish; blah, blah, blah! She drives me crazy.
And she flat out lied on the runway. That girl specifically said pink was her favorite color. Tessa lied and said she wanted black or grey and that she said she didn't want a whole dress out of pink. Unless they edited that part out, she never said that.
I'm over her!
I loved all the top 3 and would have been OK with any of them winning. They did a fantastic job and their models obviously felt great.
I loved the story about the engagement - so cute.
I too like Christian much better than I did at the start of the season. I miss Timm, but Christian really grew on me.

Tessa went on about her minimalist aesthetic, told the EMT that she usually designs in black & gray and that with her coloring she would look great in anything dark. The EMT said something about no burgundy or dark colors but she'd be ok with black or grey. She asked for a short dress and Tessa trying to sell her on a jumpsuit with detachable skirt. The difference between the top three dresses and bottom three made me kind of hope they would eliminate Jamal, Hester and Tessa last night.

bc2ca thanks...After Tessa said she makes black and grey clothes, I couldn't remember if the EMT worker said that was ok or not esp after listing all the dark colors she didn't want. I was hoping for a double elimination myself.

I’m very happy with the top three and with who won, but I thought second and third places should have been flipped—the blue dress was much better than the purple one IMO.
Im also with all of you in the disgust with Tessa. She lies/misrepresents and deflects on the runway. She’s full of herself, inflexible, and unable to take criticism. The designers all seem to like each other and get along, but none of them seem to care for her. The reunion will be interesting.
i was so irritated at how she steam rolled her client. Her client may have said she’s okay with black and gray, but that’s not the same as saying she likes it or wants it. She was very clear she wanted pink. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for these women and Tessa, and some of the others, gave their clients crap. I wish PR would take all the women in the bottom, hook them up with a designer who will listen, and give them the dream dresses they deserve.

I'm so glad Sebastian won. His dress was lovely. I loved the band that went around her shoulders and around her back. His signature stitching adds so much to everyone of his designs. His client absolutely loved her dress. He listened to her and designed a dress that was perfect for the event she wanted it for. It looks like he's having quite a meltdown in the next episode though. I would hate for him to leave. He's my favorite.
I knew Jamal would go home. His dress did not flatter his client at all. I would have been just as happy if Tessa lost. One of the judges called it right; she designs clothes she likes not necessarily what her client likes. Brandon Maxwell and the other designers are also starting to call her out on her unfinished hems, and her use of black in just about everything she sends down the runway. It's time for her to go.
I'm predicting that Bishme is going to win Project Runway. What do you all think?

I wouldn't normally pick Hester, but they realllly seem to like her. Plus the odd judges they have had, that sort of trend towards Hester's style.

I think Garro. He really seems to understand what the judges want and stay true to his style. But I’m on The anyone but Tessa or Hester bandwagon.
For some reason whenever they have a bit with Tessa, my mind always goes to high school. That seems about her maturity level.

Hester should have been eliminated too. They should have gone with 3 finalists. Garo’s whole room was amazing. It really went well with his look and idea. Sebastian might have won if his room had been better. CardiB was restrained I thought. It was good to see all their looks in one place. I don’t like Bishme as much as the judges do. If Tessa was a better seamstress she might have fared better. I’ll be curious if she will get more sewing instruction.

Here is the mill which inspired Tessa's room. Her parents owned it for 30 years. I grew up in the area and had my wedding pictures taken here. When I go home to visit I always stop out to see the gallery displays. It's a beautiful piece of property. www.bearsmill.org/
