Thanks for the thread!
I’m home from work sick and won’t be able to scrapbook until the weekend.
I started a page last weekend but didn’t get far. I’m struggling to think of challenges for April.

I’m excited for this month! I have lots of scrapping and organizing I want to do 🙂 Thank you crystalb for starting this thread, I really dislike not being able to “like” the messages like here on the forum. We’re getting a nice run of warm weather finally it was 34 this morning, sorry about that snow grammadee II hope it thaws soon for you! There are some really great challenges I’m excited about this month ! I am making an 8x8 albums, plus some pages for the family albums. What are you all looking forward to scrapping this month? Anything you want to do more of? For me, I really need/want to take more photos this month, not just of the new grandbaby 😂 but him as well. I’m not sure what pages I’ll scrap yet, I usually just let photos or supplies inspire me

Spring here in Gothenburg Sweden is sunny and about 7°C. I'm a gardener so I measure the passage of spring by which flowers are up. The daffodils are coming up and will soon show their sunny faces.

Our weather has been really odd this year. Our flowers were coming up early then we got hit by a lot of late unusual snow in February. Now it looks like spring is here for real and the flowers are starting to bloom again!

We have daffodils, cherry blossoms and I think it is honeysuckle (I am NOT a gardener at all!). It is still very chilly at night so I think they are timid to really bloom.
I did nothing crafty yesterday and prospects are dismal today. I did however read "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (735 pages I believe). I am trying to reread them before DD does to preface any "dark" things so we can talk about them since she has a very active imagination and is quite sensitive. I don't think I ever read books 5-7 so that should be a nice treat for me as I love the series but was in the service when those came out I believe.
What did the rest of the GEMS do yesterday/plan to do today?

I have been spending the last couple of days trying to finish up my new die storage. The dies are all on the magnetic trays. I have one more batch of packages to glue down to 8 1/2" cs so I can slide those pages into page protectors in an album. Will post a photo later, but if I don't get out of here I will die of boredom. I always tell myself I am "almost done" just to get me started which is almost always a lie, and then I just feel as if a job like this goes on for-EVER.
Spring around here is late (sadly) and short (thankfully), dreary, grey and muddy. Still some snow lying around. (Yesterdays flurries melted fairly quickly) Even as it recedes, it takes awhile for green grass to push up through the dead stuff, and we won't have full leaves on the trees until mid May. I look forward to seeing pussy willows in "bloom". First flowers are dandelions, but not even any of them, yet. Another flower that pokes out early is the wild crocus. I have seen them as early as the last weekend in April, but not much before that.

Today after work, grocery shopping and dinner I actually spent 1 1/2 hours working in my scraproom!! I sorted several colors of my embellishments and my alpha stickers and I can see some of my desktop! I also put more to the side to sell at the scrapbooking garage sale in May I’m hoping to start working on a page tomorrow after work. But I might be too tired as my Thursday Crossfit coach really pushes us hard But I do plan on scrapping this weekend!

I have today and tomorrow off work because I'm working the weekend, and I have 4 goals 1. some housecleaning 2. some scrapbooking/cardmaking 3. some shopping 4. gym Lofty goals, right!?!? It sounds quite relaxing, sitting here at the beginning of my time off, but time goes so quickly. Plus, I apparently have a house-full of visitors this weekend even tho I'm working so I really should prepare some food... I've printed off this month's challenges. Oh... and my LSS apparently got some PLASTIC T-SQUARE RULERS in yesterday. They are $2.99. Mine broke about 2 months ago and I cannot find a replacement that isn't over $30 (nothing at M's, Walmart, even Amazon is $9.99 ish). So I'm going to visit Twist my arm!

I worked on a double pager today for a little while and rediscovered some goodies so that was really great. My baby boy paper should be here tomorrow so I’ll start on the baby album soon. We’re expecting warmer weather this weekend so I plan on enjoying that most of the time and when I feel like scrapping, I have lots of pages I’m excited to work on

The only thing remotely scrappy I got done today was to put my March pages into an album. I am busy sorting out my tax stuff. And there was a plumber here working on the furnace most of the day. He will be back again tomorrow to fix something that didn't work for him today and to replace the blower fan. Oh, I DID do some on line shopping. We should really have a challenge to earn points for THAT! Nothing like NOT creating anything to motivate a person to buy more stuff!!! I ordered DIES! I just calculated on another thread that I already own 56 sq ft of dies ! BTW MDscrapaholic has created a printable challenge list. I find these easier to follow than trying to print the Challenges thread.

check check check and check for me today...
visitors arrived a day early (ie today) so glad I got some tidying up done.
LSS - I kept purchases minimal, and I'm glad I did, because they just got in a bunch of stuff today (Pink Paislee Horizons for one) so I'm going to have to make a return trip tomorrow!!!
I'm scrapping right now. Watching "Sex Education" on Netflix and thinking it's a good show. My 15 yr old DD recommended it. My 18 yr old DS...with great alarm in his voice...asked "What ARE you watching?" and was horrified to hear his sister had seen it. Has anyone else watched this? It is WAY more information than I had at that age. But I can't help but feel it's better to have it out in the open than not. A lot of my own sex education came from novels I smuggled from the library. I like that my DD talks to me (extensively) about what her friends are up to and how she feels about it. I'm also very glad she is far too busy with her dance to have boys in her life!

kitbop I agree about more information is better. I have not watched it yet (DD is 11 but talks has already started). I will add it to my Netflix list. This week was spent cleaning up from the past weeks of sick. READING the entire Harry Potter Goblet of Fire, and running errands. Last night was a scramble to help DD finish last minute things before her major competition today (They took 2nd place in the county!). Today I gave both kids Hufflepuff robes, ties and Hogwarts letters along with various wands in a homemade box with their names in HP font. They were OVER THE MOON and played Harry Potter for over 2 hours! I see lots of playing this weekend as we try to rest up from this super busy week. I did order from Ms (albums, the cool Dark Rainbow paper pad that someone posted in general chat and some vinyl) when they had the spend 50 get 20 off....did it online and went to pick it up after dropping everyone off today. My D ring albums ended up being 9.08 a piece YAY!

Happy weekend!
Dh and I will have our granddaughter from about 9:00 this morning until dinner time on Monday. Dd and dgd live with us but dd is going to visit a friend in NYC for the weekend and we volunteered to babysit. My scrapbooking time will be divided between caring for her and dh spending time in his woodworking shop. I hope to at least finish the layout I began last week.
I was was tempted to try to find Sparkle City at Joann’s yesterday but am glad I didn’t go. I am thinking about whether to save my money for the CKC I’m going to (just the Vendor Faire) in late June or to do an online order. My bonus check (first ever!) was cut almost in half by taxes and 401K but it’s still extra money. I also got a nice pay increase with my recent promotion...but it seems anytime there’s a little “extra” something comes up. My SIL had breast cancer 2 years before me and recently found that it’s in her legs, spine and ribs as well as her liver. She has had to stop working because the risk of breaking a bone is great. We contributed the GoFundMe for her as well as helping pay for my Dad’s replacement teeth after his top plate broke. And in the “it never rains but pours category” I heard from a brother yesterday that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Looking forward to all of the great creations this month!

KelleeM that's awful news about your SIL and brother. That's so good of you to support them with your bonus! And kudos to you for showing some scrap spendy restraint. That's so hard to do when there is a line you like, to hold off for something else. I restrained myself a *bit* yesterday... my lss got in a bunch of new lines, and I "only" purchased the must haves, held off on the "stuff I love but will use less"... For example, the new Bella Blvd camping line is adorable but I didn't buy. crystalb - this netflix show is *definitely* something to watch when your kids aren't around! I finished season one last night. It doesn't hold back. I remember when Harry potter robes and wands were big around my house. I miss those days. My DD would whittle sticks into wands until she was 13 years old, and share them with her friends

Oh KelleeM that is a lot to handle at once. You have such a generous heart to help your SIL and Dad though. I know that has taken a lot off their mind. Hugs for your and your whole family. kitbop thank you. I will plan on watching it after bed time! gmcwife1 sounds like you are making progress WOOHOO. This morning my sweet monsters were up WAY before they are for school so we already have our chores done for the day (it is not even 0900 here!) and are already playing Harry Potter. We have a relatively free weekend before birthday season and hockey try out season starts next weekend so we are lounging around. We may have a fire/smores tonight but I am all about relaxing. They both had super busy weeks with something after school every.single.day.

KelleeM I’m really sorry to hear of your family’s illnesses crystalb what a fabulous surprise for your kids!! I can picture their joy and laughter playing with their HP stuff!! kitbop I’ll have to put that show on my list to watch! Today I really wanted to sleep in, but the dogs had other ideas! I haven’t decided if it’s amusing or annoying that they wait outside the bedroom door for me to wake up. And of course the minute they hear me roll over, stretch or even breathe differently they are alert. The German Shepherd Dog stands out there whining and my dog jiggles the door knob I’m hoping to look at a typewriter I found on Craigslist today. Our printer does not like printing on thick cardstock and it’s just a hassle to use for scrapbooking. So I’m hoping this typewriter will work for some journaling. And it’s blue so it will look fine in my room

Hi folks. I've had a lovely day making memories with my other half...its been so lovely to have the energy to do things and not just lie on the sofa. KelleeM I am so sorry about your family. I know how hard it must be for you. You're such a kind hearted soul...sending you much love. I have been sitting on a paper order all week, trying not to order while under the effect of drugs! So I think I might press the button this weekend @ kitbop I don't have kids so I'm thinking I might avoid that Netflix. We are currently binging on Bones, which I'm enjoying.

craftykitten very happy to hear you are feeling well enough to have a good day with your other half!! Today felt like a lazy day, but I did get a typewriter. Not the cute blue one, but another one that I’ve already used. I also completed a two page PL layout. The second page is lacking in embellishments, so I’m leaving it until tomorrow to see if I feel like adding to it. But they are both done! Dinner is coming along. Bbq chicken is in the oven, two salads are done and beans are on the stove. Now I’m indulging in a guilty pleasure, a Jurassic Park marathon on Starz

Yay, one more PL page done! It’s very simple but I did start putting my pages in Ryder’s album and it feels good! I’ve just been doing pages willy nilly in no real order. I found two pages that were duplicates so I combined them into one And I’m hoping to start another page later today. Dh wants me to go pick out some plants and I have dinner with friends, so I will probably just decide which pictures to do next

Today felt like a lazy day, but I did get a typewriter. Not the cute blue one, but another one that I’ve already used. I would love a typewriter. I think I'd use it more often than when I want to do computer journaling because it feels time consuming to open up the program on the computer, format the printing, print on a test page, then print on the real page. A typewriter - you just insert your item and go. OTOH, would I be frustrated by lack of font/size variety? I ususally use the computer when I have a long story to tell, so space counts. I really don't have space for a typewriter either. Plus, they are expensive these days, even retro ones! Can you tell I've had this conversation with myself many times ?

I have a typewriter, I bought myself it for my birthday several years back. I used it sporadically but I much prefer my own handwriting. However, my kids LOVE it and type "spy" stuff on it all the time. They love it!
I have, I think, 5 pages done for this month. My rhythm is going to be off this week, we have 2 early dismissal days, so we are going to be enjoying lots of time outside. Today we are were out there for 5 hours! It was EIGHTY! EIGHTY!!! Like what? It is only the first week of APRIL! TOO HOT! Lol!
How is everyone doing? What are y'alls goals for this month? What challenges are inspiring you?
Are any of you going to be dropping in/participating in our iNSD crop?

KelleeM , that is a lot of bad news for one family. (((((HUGS))))) to you all. Good to hear you were out and about and feeling more like yourself, craftykitten. I am afraid that my biggest contribution so far this month has been through comments. I was busy and then I was sick and now I still have more stuff to do before I can scrap. Taxes. House cleaning. Some appointments. I finished a few cards, and I have a couple more to do. Probably won't be doing pages until after Easter. So I will have about a week to put together pages. Hoping for at least ten. I will have my Easter pic's so hopefully will be able to earn some points. Thinking eggs, pastels, get real. I also want to take on the Donna challenge. For iNSD I will be at an IRL crop, so hoping to get lots done. Won't be around much during the days, but hoping to check in for some chatting in the evenings, and hoping to post my crop creations by the deadline on Monday.

Had to go into the office and then had a hard, late workout. By the time I got home I was exhausted and sore. I only walked back to my room to drop off my Citrus Twist kit but didn’t even open it. I figured I’ll open it today and maybe sort pictures for another page today during lunch. I want/need to do some more cleaning and organizing. I have a scrappy garage sale next month and have a lot of work to do before then! Oh man, I think the garage sale is the Saturday of our crop. Darn. And I have the Friday after our crop off work! Hmmmm, I should check the calendar and see if I can swap days
