Hey Peas!
For the iNSD crop we are hosting here I wanted to get a "Make your own kit" challenge going. We all have stash so let's get to busting some of it.
For this one I would like for you to START with a MULTI COLORED print/pattern that you LOVE!
Then build you kit around that using the following loosely: 2-3 more Bold/A pattern papers with similar colors 4-? smaller patterns/B side pattern papers in singular or dual colors from the first piece you choose (so if you first piece has blue, green, yellow and orange like mine you would pull 1-2 in each color or whatever combination you fancied. I hope that makes sense.) 3-5 Neutral patterns (I choose black/white/cream) Cardstock of your choosing A stamp set(s) or rub ons Something so sprinkle around (wood pieces, sequins, tiny stickers etc.) I choose wood veneers Something older (brads, ribbon, fastenor, naked chipboard, flowers, eyelets, etc). I choose brads. Something to add texture. (twine, floss, staples, mixed media, tearing tools, embossing folders/tools etc). I pulled out twine. Stars or hearts
Something you always use (enamel dots for me) ***You may substitute or leave out ONE thing***
I will be RANDOMLY drawing one name of all those that POST A PHOTO of your KIT by the MONDAY AFTER OUR CROP for a $5.00 gift card to your choice of acherryontop, paperissues or scrapbook.com (they do those right?). You may earn more entries by posting your creations with said kit but you must post photos of the kit and creations!
Here is my take. I started with the multi colored stripe from Simple Stories Lil'Dude. I then included the multi icon and circle one from their line. From there I choose a gridded green(studio calico), orange/red polka dotted (lilly b i think), hexagon yellow(pink paislee), yellow stars(Echo Park), yellow/orange splatter(Bella blvd), two blues polkadots and stripes (Echo Park), galaxy paper (Joanns?), a blue grid with some mixed media (??), another blue from SS Lil Dude, and my nuetrals are wood planks, black/white/cream stripes and dots. I really want to use my stamps so I pulled three sets out and hope to emboss some things too (yes dig out those supplies!). The brads have been lingering for quite a while so they need to make some appearances and I hope to use at least half a pack. I am a wood acholic and enamel dot junkie so those are my go tos along with hearts and stars.
I can't wait to see what you create!
ETA: If you make more than one kit you get more than one entry!

Looks like fun! I will definitely put together a kit like this to take to our IRL crop iNSD weekend. Just need to think about what theme I want to run with. Thanks, crystalb!

Do we have to list everything in the kit, or is the picture enough?

So what is the exact due date for this challenge? Thanks! (Sorry for all the questions. It's just that I'm really interested in this challenge!) You can start making any time, but the kit I would guess would need to be created at least by the end of the crop that is May 2nd-May 5th. You can find out about the crop here.crystalb, am I wrong?

LisaDV you are correct. I didn't have the date handy when I was typing this up! I will go edit now. riversong1963 never apologize for questions, that is what we are here for. I am excited you are excited! I have already done two layouts with my kit, it is so much easier for me when things are already pulled. How is everyone else doing on this? Anyone else planning on playing?

How is everyone else doing on this? Anyone else planning on playing? I'm going to play! Last night I was handed a ton of new photos from a trip DH took with DD. I'm still selecting which photos to use and deciding on what pages to make, but as soon as I have a better idea as to what I'm doing I'll put my kit together. I'm hoping to get some use out of the new Shimelle papers I recently picked up. Unrelated, I actually did some scrapping yesterday! I'm still plugging away at Disney 2008, but I can't make a kit for it as I'm restricting myself to using scraps, 6x6, washi, and a thin b/w 8.5x11 pad I picked up. The pages are photo heavy, and usually I would throw 12x12 PP behind it all, so doing it with mostly scraps is presenting some new challenges for me. But they're fun challenges.

riversong1963 Christmas is always hard for me to scrap, right up there with birthdays for some reason. This year I switched it up and did a 6X8 album. It was so fun doing a different size and I was done by January! Win win! I am interested to see your kit! msliz new photos are so fun! Your Disney album sounds like a fun challenge, way to bash some stash! ComplicatedLady welcome welcome! You have lots of time but it will be fun to see what you make up!

Okay, without overthinking it, I decided on my kit. I'm going to pull from the Shimelle Sparkle City Project Pad and loose papers that I picked up recently, so that will cover all my paper and cardstock needs, plus black and white for my neutrals. They all sort of coordinate, so I should be okay. I have tiny heart stickers to sprinkle, brads for something older, nuvo drops for texture, stars because I already included the hearts, and dies are something I almost almost always use. I'll leave off the stamps / rub ons. Some of these papers are double sided, but I think these are the sides I'll be using. Can't wait for the weekend to get here!

Here's mine. Slight change of plans. I'm not making a Christmas kit. It's a kit for a layout about a very special doll that my daughter has had since she was a baby. One of the "papers" is a map from our trip to Italy last month. I hope that's allowed as a patterned paper.

I was in Joanns yesterday (Saturday) when they had the flash sale of 20 papers for 3.00 and I bought WAY more than I needed right now. I also scooped up those awesome hearts because HEARTS!!!!! I can't wait to see what you do with this amazing kit! It will help me use my stuff! YAY! Thank you for playing.

I have never been a floral girl but dasmith2 has nudged me that way and I think your start piece is just divine. I am partial to blues though so anything blue I love. I can't wait to see what you do with the hoops too!

I think that is very cool to include them! Blue and yellow is one of my favorite color combinations so I am intrigued to see what comes from this. Fun stamps too! Thank you for playing!

Kit 1 by d steck, on Flickr Ok here is what i’ve Set aside to scrap David. It’s for my DD’s travel book so I’m hoping for the right balance between campy & artistic. Wish me luck, I actually think this might be the most difficult one to get right. First because if I go too goofy her inner artist might be insulted. Like I’m making fun if David ir something. Second I wasn’t there for this she was with her father. So I’m not sure what it was like. Not sure if if I can wait til Friday to scrap him though. We will see what stresses work brings this week. But then that could also go either way. Low stress= possibility of time in the evening to scrap. Or it might mean I actually get other stuff done. High stress might = I’m too stressed out to do anything but vegetate at night OR it might mean I desperately need craft therapy

I think that materials you picked are just right. I am intrigued to see you use the Jillibean alphas! Good luck.
I have the same stress things! Hugs!

I think the hatchtag papers in the back ground will be ok, but I might want to avoid the “go, see, do” stickers
