The video is good and I certainly agree with him. However, this is not the issue I think he should have kicked off his campaign with. Everyone including many Republicans know that Trump is racist and encourages violence. Yet people will vote for the person they think will be the best for them personally. There may be bigger issues at stake but those bigger moral and even legal issues didn't keep Trump out of office in 2016 and they won't defeat him in 2020.
I like Biden, I like that he is more moderate. I think he is a fine person but I agree with others, he's too old. He will also get dinged on his failures to fix immigration and anything else people think that Congress and the Obama administration should have done a better job of. He will spend his campaign trying to sell the successes of the past but all people will pay attention to is what he should have done and his age.

I liked the video too, I don’t know how anyone could not. Since he took so long to enter, I’m going to assume that bright, political minds took their time deciding on that video. It certainly got our attention and hopefully everyone is probably discussing it. He is about 20 years too old. But if he picks the right running mate, it should work. Our country deserves better than the a hole we have now. We need to get behind the 2020 election like we did in 2018. Since I love my sports so much ~ Go Blue !

If this was 4 years ago, I would have been more excited. Now not so much. I think his time has passed. I do like him and think the video was well done. And you better damn well believe that I will vote for him if he does get the Democratic ticket. Hell no will I vote for Trump and a vote for a 3rd party candidate isn't going to help get rid of Trump.

Honestly, I am exhausted thinking that the 20/20 campaign has already begun. I think there should be a restriction on when it can all start...at least keep it all within the same calendar year!

Honestly, I am exhausted thinking that the 20/20 campaign has already begun. I think there should be a restriction on when it can all start. I agree...a break would be nice. However, because everything with this administration and the GOP right now is so unbearably depressing and infuriating, I'm relieved to welcome positive voices and thoughtful plans and hopefulness in to my world. If Biden is the nominee, he will have my vote. And ideally, he will choose a running mate that gets me excited to get to the polls to vote for them. But man, how I hope it will be someone else. I gotta say, having a gay millennial President sounds effing amazing to me, as does a woman, and a black woman to boot. I'll be damned if Elizabeth Warren isn't knocking my socks off here lately. An abundance of riches in this blue field...that gives me hope.

Really? "God Rest Their Soul!" He doesn't even know what common phrases mean. "God rest their soul" describes someone who has died or is about to die. trump's statement could be taken a couple of different ways. Really? He's wishing them an early death or he's calling for their deaths ? OMG the man is insane whatever he meant by it No, I think he's just calling them old. Too old to run. My first thought when read the comment was that he's saying he would kill him in the election. Meaning a huge win.

If voting for Biden for a 4 year presidency gets Trump out, I am all in favor. Hopefully he will pick a running mate who is female. If that combo works well, perhaps the next term will go to a qualified, experienced female.
Personally I would love to see Biden have the chance to be the one to undo all of the hateful, hurtful things that Trump has done.

The only thing I really care about is whether or not the person is educated, qualified, experienced and smart. I don't understand voting based on any other criteria than that. I don't care if it's a man or a woman, race and sexual persuasion is irrelevant to me. I really have a difficult time respecting anyone who votes based on "it's time we had a female!" or whatever. That's not the way to run a country. My first thought when read the comment was that he's saying he would kill him in the election. Meaning a huge win. That makes better sense than what I thought.

Its funny how the general consensus of the peas is completely the opposite with the sentiment expressed on my FB wall. The prevailing sentiment there (among mostly women) were thrilled with the announcement, and completely supportive.

Honestly, I am exhausted thinking that the 20/20 campaign has already begun. I think there should be a restriction on when it can all start...at least keep it all within the same calendar year! Me too. The Australian political process has its flaws, but that's something they've really got right. The actual campaigning for elections is a blessedly short time frame. Usually not more than 6 months. Probably because we don't have set fixed terms. It sort of feels like Trump has been recampaigning for 2020 since the day he was inaugurated.

I just sent him a donation. I’m happy he’s running. He’s no more imperfect than every other candidate out there, and I actually LIKE him.
Other than Bernie, I’d be okay with any of the other candidates, too (and I’d vote for Bernie if he were the nominee ... but then I’d vote for a pet goldfish against Donald Trump, so that isn’t saying much).

I will vote for Biden. I will. I like him. I do however, think we need some young blood and diversity. Butigieg, Harris, either order are my picks for the dream ticket.

I like Biden but he IS too old. I like Buttigieg (honestly, is that the right spelling?) but he IS too young. Together, they might make the ideal ticket.

I live near Philadelphia and our local news has had a lot of Biden news these past few weeks. (I guess because he lives a few miles away in Wilmington, DE). A few weeks ago, he and Stacy Abrams met and the news here was speculating that they were meeting to discuss possible VP consideration if Biden were to run and be chosen as the Democratic nominee. I know it's really early yet, but I guess anything is possible.

I will vote for Biden if he gets the nomination. I really hope he picks a much younger running mate. I wouldn't mind if it was Buttigieg. He also needs to run his campaign in a non traditional manner that makes effective and extensive use of social media and bridges the divide with younger voters. He also needs to be a better fundraiser. This was a weakness in previous campaigns. This will be a long and hard fought campaign and he will need a sizable war chest to run it.

UK is even better it's 6 weeks I couldn't stand it to be any longer! We also don't have political advertisements on TV or Radio either and they are limited to how many TV and Radio political broadcasts they are allowed during the 6 weeks of campaigning.

I miss my Canadian elections where there was no obsessive focus on the spouses/kids/pets of the people running as well.

I've not heard any of our political candidates doing that either. Heck I don't know the sexuality, marital status, religion or how many children many of them have here. The odd one or two I might but they focus more on the overall manifesto of each political party here. Of course money doesn't enter into it either because they're limited to how much they can spend, which compared to the US is minuscule.

Racist/sexist because I don’t want to vote for a white man? No, because you specifically called out a race and sex as options you will completely disregard based primarily on that race and sex.
Put any other race in there and change it to women and you'll see what I mean. I didn't actually say that. I said: I don’t think any of the white men are so much more qualified than the women or people of color, so I’d rather vote for one of the women. That doesn't mean I would pick an unqualified woman/POC over any of the white men, nor would I pick a woman/POC whose policies I don't agree with. I think of this more along the lines of affirmative action. TBH, white men have had A LOT of turns at the presidency. Voting selectively to give people a chance who haven’t had one is neither racist or sexist. I am annoyed at Biden for deciding to run when there is a pool of qualified candidates, including many women!, who are already in the race. I personally find it arrogant. A lot of different factors play into people's voting choices. I've seen a lot of people say they're voting who they think is most electable, which is not the same as choosing the most qualified.

Well, I'm not crazy about him running, but if he is the Democratic candidate, I will vote for him. I understand why he didn't, but I wish he had run in 2016 because I believe he would be president now. I really just think he is too old. I hope that if he is the candidate that he has a strong and popular running mate.
I am looking forward to learning more about the other strong Democratic candidates and hoping and praying that the final choice is not Bernie. However, I would even vote for him over Trump. I honestly can't believe I am in this "place" of saying I will vote Democrat no matter who the candidate is as I have voted for a Democrat for president only twice in my life. And I have been voting since Reagan was president. Even my husband is shocked when I say that I will vote for Bernie if it is a choice between him and Trump. LOL He pretty much always votes Democrat, and we typically do not talk politics. He thinks I was kidnapped and replaced by aliens. LOL

It's been interesting watching the criticism towards those that voted "anyone but Hillary" now declare they'll vote for "anyone but Trump."
If Bernie wins, will those that voted for him get the same treatment they dished out to the Trump voters? I don't think so, but time will tell.

Well, I wasn't an "anyone but Hillary" person. And perhaps, there are people who voted for Trump because they were indeed "anyone but Hillary" voters and now they realize what a disaster Trump is and are now inclined to vote for anyone but him.
And, for the record, one reason I hope and pray that Bernie is not the candidate is because I believe he won't be able to beat Trump.
