This LO is for the School Pictures challenge that MDscrapaholic posted - thanks for a great challenge, I have sooooooo many school photos that I want to scrap! I did this one over the weekend, and I did about 4 different versions of it, and couldn't decide which one to go with. I thought that I would wait until morning and look at it with fresh eyes. I chose this one, but that's not to say that I won't change my mind again after I do more of my school photos! I used the 'In The Springtime' kit by the GingerScraps design team, and elements from the 'Never Ending' template by Fiddle-Dee-Dee and the 'Book of Memories' template by Katie Pertiet. Interesting part of the journaling - in Year 12 we were actually allowed to smoke at school, as long as we only did it up at the Year 12 block and not in front of the younger kids. Can you imagine that now?!?! That was before the law changed so that you had to be over 18 to buy cigarettes. And yes, I was a smoker back then.  The other fun thing was that we didn't have to wear school uniform in Year 12, as you can see by the class photo (about a quarter of the kids were wearing the uniform in the photo). Mind you, I think I wore it most days anyway, it was just easier. I made this with my iNSD kit and really like how it came together. Hardest part was cutting that Paige Evans paper...it's my fave...think I'll buy a couple more sheets so I don't fret so much about using it! And I actually did some mixed media that I *liked* under my photo! Watching all those missy Whiddon videos is finally paying off? (I used my finger tips to smudge, and it worked well)  layout a lovely day to just keep walking by kirstendrew, on Flickr Your layout is GORGEOUS! |
