You'd have to head west a bit to find prices that high and because it's on the lake in Lake Geneva were shoreline is expensive. Here's one in the price range. Lakeside in Lake Genevaor course there is old mansions from way back and the prices can go higher there, quick search of most expensive on lake finds... a mere $13,900,000 for 13 bedroom 16 bath cozy cottage
^^^that one is a newer mansion
I love how light the first one is. The other one is wow! 16 baths!!! Would be a fantastic bed and breakfast! me, too. I also prefer the more casual feel. I would feel so out of place, almost uncomfortable, in some of the "fancier" ones. Granted I wouldn't know what to do with a HUGE house of any flavor, but light and casual feel would make it easier. brina a friend of mine married a girl from Kenilworth that had a similar house. This country bumpkin felt quite out of place. They were a great family and nice, just not used to all the formality and much-ness. I remember thinking much of my house could fit in their great room.

PLurker - I felt the same way when I moved here. I was a blue collar kid from NY. My husband grew up in the next town north of here. Most people here are really nice and friendly, unlike the reputation.

Such a house does not exist.
The highest is 1.7 million, 6 beds, 6 baths, 6423 sq feet, 30.50 acres, nice landscaping, and a private pond.
ETA: That is the most expensive in the county. My town; 3 bed, 2 bath, manufactured home, 12.30 acres; $900,000 but it's been on the market over 100 days. It can easily be subdivided into lots for new home construction.

I like this one more than the home the OP shared. I lean more towards a modern look though. Both are well out of my price range anyway!!

This is my favorite. It's a little above the $3.75m budget, but ehh, it's been on the market for 200+ days. I'm sure it's negotiable. Too many kitchens, but that closet.... Link

I love it with some changes.. not huge changes but I really like it.. All that wood in the entry way is a little much.. I would reduce that somehow. The 'game' room.. yeah all that has to go. ONE or TWO animals I could live with (cause DH would like that) but to me it's like the wife decorated the house and husband got to decorate that one room. LOL... The kitchen island was weird.. that would have to be changed. And I don't like gold fixtures.. I would change that. I did think 10 bathrooms was quite excessive.. but at my age a bathroom nearby isn't a bad thing!!! I wouldn't have to do the pee-pee dance to find a potty. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the living room windows looking out to the countryside. Love the fireplaces. The furniture (if it goes with the house) is very nice but not the kind you are afraid to sit on. (And YES I noticed the bed making as well... what is up with that? Maybe Sleep Number beds? Cause no matter how well I make my bed it's got those 'waves' in it which is impossible to smooth out) Oh I also love the glass in the bathroom showers.. and elsewhere...
What would that buy in Colorado.. God knows.. I guess a swanky condo downtown or up in the mountains. A million dollar home in Denver can be a little Tudor style house.

Holy crap! Do you know who owned that house? (I'm in Lincoln, so just curious who it could be)
Reminds me a bit of that house in Gretna that Rod Kush owned, that was torn down several years later.

LinkI love all the kitchens. Downside it is in a neighborhood. I would want that house on a plot of land somewhere with no neighbors.

I don't know. I just saw it in the paper. There are some enormous houses on the bluff outside of Gretna. I live in Gretna. We were happy when they burned his house down. It sat empty for years.

A caterer's kitchen, unbelievable!!! Yes! Plus the wet bar area that just feels like it's in an odd spot, 10 fee from the kitchen? Plus the bar downstairs, and then another wet bar area (maybe? I saw another sink, wasn't sure what was behind the cabinets) in what appears to be the living room, plus a nice wine cellar downstairs. It's a lot of house - but at least it's beautiful! I did a little digging to figure out who the owner was and why it was empty, and fell down a rabbit hole of info that took me time to dig out of - interesting couple that own(ed?) it! According to his instagram, he sold the house to the first buyer that looked at it...but that doesn't appear to be the case! haha I also found out from instagram that the beautiful closet I was coveting is 2 levels!

Forget the carcasses... how about the dinky television?!?!? I think all the showers have issues - some of them look like they're from Home Depot in the 90s. They're just sad - and awfully small! I think the house has been staged for the most part and that's probably why the bed linens look so pathetic. They appear to have been put away in bags and just got aired out. Or the poor critters from the "crap I'm dead" room ran thru the house at 1am! It's a beautiful house in many aspects - but it feels cold and I bet that living room in the winter gets really freaking cold without draperies!

Not much...
About 5 to 6 bedrooms, 4 to 5 bathrooms and about 4,000 to 6,000 sq house with average 5 to 8,000 sq lot.
Here in the south side 3 to 4 bedroom homes that are average go for $850k to 1.3 million
Yeah, it's great living in southern California till ya need a damn house 🙄🖕

My husband has a client that just sold his house about a year ago. He’s a big game hunter, or was, and he had a home office very similar to this one. I am totally, 💯 against hunting, but it was stunning! Like, your mouth hang open, stunning. He had a full bear, cougars, massive amounts of heads too. He donated a lot of his collection when they sold because they were downsizing.

This CASTLE is about 20 minutes from me on a very popular riverfront. It's pretty cool, but I can't imagine living there. It screams haunted to me!

The only thing I didn't like was the room full of carcasses. HouseNo doubt the woman of the house said, "You get one room, one room only to put your dead things...that's it!" Yikes!

This is a fairly new build. Not your typical Spanish/Mediterranean style that is the norm here in Arizona. I love the interior, especially those wood beams! $3.75 million Scottsdale, Az home

I started out as a tax assessor and while it's not *quite* that much, I finished up a house and headed to the next one that had recently sold for $3m...which I couldn't find. I ended up going back to the nice gal's house that I had just gone through and asking her for help...and she said oh no, they tore that house down Another time I went through a house, got done and asked the property owners if I was correct in counting 12 fireplaces? Nope, there were actually 13! That house was valued at about $6 or 7 million. I'm sure it's worth at least twice that by now. These were back in the day before much for online records or laser measuring devices....having to check or take measurements sucked on the big houses!
