Patterson’s contention is nobody knew because how could anyone possibly know this was going on? I find that almost impossible to believe. How could Epstein hide this for years when people see young girls going in and out of his residences? He’d have guests and there’d be a parade of girls, not women. Miami Herald’s Julie K Brown said they identified 80 victims. Witnesses and victims in the civil cases testified there were hundreds of girls brought to Epstein’s homes. Vicky Ward of Vanity Fair said, “What is so amazing to me is how his entire social circle knew about this and just blithely overlooked it . . . all mentioned the girls, as an aside.” People knew but decided to shut up about it, either because they were participants, and if they weren’t, they were afraid of Epstein’s money, power and influence (and the NY and Palm Beach uber elite do stick together like glue). That would be my assumption. I also think he blackmailed many people who participated because one of the victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, said there were videotapes and photos of her having sex with Epstein’s friends, and he would ask her afterwards for intimate and embarrassing information about the encounters. If he did that with Virginia, it's likely he did it with the other victims. And since I'm already planting my assumptions here, I think that's part of what made his fortune. Thank you for this. I come here to read updated tidbits when my head hurts too much to read thru on Twitter or read every link, so I appreciate this!! I also doubt that people surrounding Epstein/Trump, etc... (Cassablancas...) didn't know what was going on! I had no idea about Virginia pics and video with Epstein's "friends". And, yes, from what I've read and heard, Epstein's background is murky. He doesn't even have a college degree. How he got so close with Wexner, etc., is murky. How he used his charm (or threats?) to get money and spin his "billionaire" dream is beyond me, but it all sounds familiar. Maybe in the end we'll find out that he's been using everyone else's money (like Trump's done) and is just another disgusting conman. The cameras were hidden in clocks, in the garage, in the library shelves, behind desks. I also want to know why Cy Vance’s office wanted a Manhattan judge to downgrade Epstein’s NY sex offender registration. What DA does that sh*t? Another quid pro quo? These girls were done so much injustice by a US Atty - Acosta, a DA - Vance, Dershowitz, Lefkovitz, Starr. So much dirt and monstrous acts here had been kept opaque. I hope everything comes out and everyone involved is exposed. And I was not at all convinced by the Alex Acosta press conference. Since when does a US Atty’s office, with the full force of the DOJ and the law behind it, quake in its boots and thus refuse to “roll the dice” in a federal prosecution? In a sex trafficking case? With victim testimonies? I hope the Southern District of New York shows the Southern District of Florida what cojones looks like.

lizacreates I can tell you that FL is very lenient as far as Registered (and even unregistered!!) sex offenders go! DD31 worked for one a few years ago in a local grooming (outdoor) tent in the parking lot of a feed store. Things weren't adding up and a few locals began questioning his actions. The groomer was his babymomma. DD worked with her, assisting. Anyway, turns out he's a Registered Sex Offender (pedophile) and he was driving back and forth to FL to avoid registering here. He was supposed to anyway because he was in close contact with minors. Took a lot to prove things and he finally went to jail, but we had to get evidence from the upstate NY police and give it to the local police here, and then show how he was still attempting to lure minors in malls, etc....... He didn't get too much jailtime here! The police told us that FL is "littered" with sex offenders and it happens all the time! Geez, so you just let them go? I'm convinced that NY will do a much better job, but I'm perplexed that it took SDNY this long!!!!

“They are severely underperforming” other resorts in the area, said a tax consultant for Trump’s company, arguing in a public hearing that the county should lower the resort’s tax assessment. She blamed the Trump name: “There is some negative connotation that is associated with the brand.” Ya think?

Jeffrey Epstein's alleged crimes are worse than the allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and those comedian Bill Cosby was convicted of, and arguably the worst of the #MeToo era, according to best-selling author James Patterson.Patterson, who wrote a book on Epstein -- "Filthy Rich: The Billionaire's Sex Scandal--The Shocking True Story of Jeffrey Epstein," discussed the disgraced financier's accused acts during an interview on "The Daily Briefing" on Tuesday. www.foxnews.com/us/james-patterson-epstein-worse-weinsteins-cosby** more at link: www.foxnews.com/us/james-patterson-epstein-worse-weinsteins-cosbyThere are several videos in the piece! It was a pretty common rumor for decades. It seems everyone ‘knew’ you know. But rumors are not evidence and he has used some pretty powerful lawyers to hide behind. It’s just another one of those sick things that happens and everybody ‘knows’ but the rich guy just keeps getting away with it. Because he’s rich & knows powerful people.

TOO Late Ted!! Washington (CNN)Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz had a simple message for the Trump administration during Wednesday's hearing on foreign arms sales: "Follow the damn law."Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have been critical of the administration's decision to declare an emergency earlier this year in order to expedite billions of dollars in arms sales to various countries -- including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates -- but Cruz's particularly blunt warning about efforts to bypass Congress stands out due to his reputation as a polarizing figure on Capitol Hill. Cruz said he supports the administration's underlying reason for selling arms to regional partners. He voted against a joint resolution disapproving of the proposed sales in late June. However, on Wednesday he issued a scathing rebuke of how the situation was handled while grilling Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs R. Clarke Cooper during the Senate Foreign Relations hearing."I voted with the administration on the substance because of the threat of Iran but I'll tell you from my end, if the administration does it again and there is not a live and exigent emergency, you will not have my vote and I predict you will not have the vote of a number of other Republicans as well. The simpler process is follow the damn law and respect it," Cruz said. ** www.cnn.com/2019/07/10/politics/senate-frustration-trump-administration-arms-sale-emergency/index.htmlAgain TOO late Ted!!

(and as a mom of girls, I understand that sometimes you just let them wear the bright pink dress anyway). Agreed about the dresses. Mom is wearing a bright pick skirt. I will say the girls have beautiful hair, although I don't like the cut, but even that is well done, but dated.

There may be a problem, Amy McGrath in Kentucky... Or is she going with the flow ?! NO problem vote for Amy! Today!! Amy McGrath, who announced this week she will challenge Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in 2020, says in a new interview that she would have likely voted to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
“I was very concerned about Judge Kavanaugh, what I felt like were the far-right stances that he had. However, there was nothing in his record that I think would disqualify him in any way,” McGrath, a former Marine fighter pilot, told the Louisville Courier-Journal.
“And the fact is when you have the president and the Senate, this is our system and so I don't think there was anything that would have disqualified him in my mind,” she said, adding when pressed on how she would have voted: "yeah, I probably would have voted for him." ** McGrath told the newspaper that she thought Ford’s allegations were “credible” but “given the amount of time that lapsed in between and from a judicial standpoint, I don't think it would really disqualify him.** thehill.com/homenews/senate/452524-mcconnells-democratic-challenger-says-she-likely-would-have-voted-forCorrected. she would have voted NO! What is so hard to comprehend about reasons why some keep it to themselves?! If nothing else, exercise your empathy muscle, try to put yourself in their shoes. And yet, many who doubt some of these older allegations have no trouble believing those abused by priests. My head spins trying to figure out their logic. or lack of it.

What happened to keep families together ...... Would be less expensive. The only reason many are listed as unaccompanied is because they are separated!! They are not letting other kids call the family already living in the US either even when they have phone numbers, and that has been proven!! A newly opened “temporary” facility to house unaccompanied migrant children could cost up to $300 million and stay open through January 2020, the Trump administration says. The Carrizo Springs facility in Texas officially opened June 30, and currently houses about 225 children. It is eventually expected to hold up to 1,300, which would make it one of the largest facilities for unaccompanied minors in the country, according to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The shelter, which was formerly used as a lodging facility for oil field workers, is one of two temporary “influx” shelters, the other being the Homestead facility in Florida. That facility is the administration's largest for unaccompanied children and currently houses around 2,300 children, but the number changes daily. The Carrizo facility is run by the non-profit firm BCFS, which HHS will pay $50 million for its first 60 days of operation, according to recent federal filings. Supplemental funding of up to $250 million will be paid if the facility is open through Jan. 31, 2020. ** thehill.com/policy/healthcare/452494-newly-opened-facility-for-migrant-children-will-cost-up-to-300-millionWe haven't heard anything about his wall of late!! I guess he is happier abusing kids!

I'm worried that's he's legitimizing conspiracy theorists and racists by inviting them to the White House. And then he'll probably make an executive order about the census. It's shameful. And immigration raids are set to start Sunday. My heart breaks for all the people who are now filled with fear. Th is is not how America should be. This feels like Nazi Germany.

I've not posted on this thread before but have to finally say something-
Trump, you can not use executive orders to get your way-especially when the order goes against a Supreme Court ruling. If you really feel there is a need to put the citizenship question on the census, then provide proper evidence to the Court. Just because you are the President, it doesn't mean you always get your way. Stop throwing tantrums to get your way. Stop with the name calling and bullying. I've given up on you ever having the class and dignity the office deserves.
I feel better now.
