I'm taking online digi classes today and here is the first digi I have made in 17 years! (that is insane to see in type!) Thank you to all who made suggestions, I'm going to look at ever single option! Wow, I LOVE it! And I'm almost embarrassed that I offered to help you if you needed it, because clearly you don't need help - you've done an awesome job with this!

sleepingbooty that puppy page is awesome. The photo is adorable. I think you can get away with busy paper if you have a simple page design. 2marbles that digi page is great! Looks like you have this well in hand! Love the hexagons and the colours… And speaking of colours, that pic of the hornworm is really cool, joblackford. I know you didn't take it, but thanks for sharing it. When you look at pic's like that or at one of those critters lifting its head up from a branch, you go "Awwww... isn't that cute?" And then one eats your tomato plant and it is WAR!!!

I spent a while today pulling IACB/Geralyn Sy digital cards and elements into photoshop to make base pages for a Christmas album. They're very provisional - just a few images, background colored to match, placeholders for photos and text, and some basic ideas on what the page will be for. I got some new templates from her shop too, but passed on buying any more cards for now. I'm hoping she'll use some good colors this year. The set I have won't stretch too far in a month-long album, even with some creative manipulation. Anyway, should I count this as making page kits? and/or organizing? I guess I'll get some scrappy Xmas in July points too. Here's a quick look at what I made today. I managed to digitally fussy cut the bears out to add to the page without the extra background stuff which made me very happy. The bears might be an ongoing motif in the album. This will either be a blurb book (5x8") or I'll print at home and bind myself a book. http://instagr.am/p/Bz4TViPAV42

I'm starting to work my way back! joblackford - uggggh, I'm really hoping these critters don't come back this year. They give me the creeps (and I'm not easily creeped out). Hunting them in the dark would be...shudder. And the worst is, they are so strong, you can't get them off the branches without breaking your plants. Gorgeous layout and your dd is gorgeous AussieMeg. How old is she? Your colours take me back to old chatterbox collections, but the amazing woodgrain in the background is so trendy! Also, your farmhouse layout - I'm so jealous when I see photos stretching across the page like that, it's so visually interesting. I don't print super large size photos because it's inconvenient and expensive. The cow... Chinagirl828, the stars are the first thing that caught my eye! love the neutral colour of them, and I love your photo grid! KikiPea, love the recreation of the flag in the background! and the "opposite" colours of the pages. grammadee - amazing embossed looks on all of your cards. The anniversary cards are gorgeous, and the birthday cards are so unique, the cupcake makes me smile! And going back a page - The Canada envelopes are beautiful! Is there anything better than a map and a maple leaf??? And the "playball" layout - *adore* the textures, the sky/dirt, the frame, the pps - amazing. 2marbles - wow, you did amazing work with that digi kit, I love the title piece and your use of all the shapes - banners, zigzag, circles, hexies! sleepingbooty - phyllis had my heart even if you'd just shown us the picture! I had a LOL a bit at your "busy" layout, to me it's very clean and open! I love how you did the journaling on a whited out area.

Love in the Gallery for you, AussieMeg and Chinagirl828 . KikiPea , I love how you tied the two pages together with those "rays" of pp from the first page shooting out from behind the photo on the second page. You must be having a ball reliving all these fun memories! joblackford , your digi cards are awesome! I would count them as page kits, maybe? Cuz this is pretty creative for organizing LOL. Here is the first of two pages I want to do with the July 13th bonus sketch. July '20 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Points: One page created and shared (2). Points for #1 rectangular photo, #2 square page, #3 doodled border, #4 sketchy Saturday, #5 sunshine (or at least rays...), #6 engineers title letters, #9 "July" in title, #14 five patterned papers (5), #16 circle dies, #17 date stamp, #29 circles, #41 from a pinned sketch, #47 at a parade, #49 July '19 photo, #65 foil pp, #67 single photo. Total: 21 The photo is a little wonky and dark. I was trying to get the foil cs to show so propped the page on an album, but then had trouble getting my phone straight yet on an angle (not level). Anyway, I am happy with this one and ready to move on to the second one in different colours.

I mentioned in a thread about sentiments that people who make cards to donate may like the "hello" sentiments in collections, even if no one else does. As a result refugeepea kindly offered to send a pile of PL cards with "hello there" sentiments that she couldn't use. Today I turned that pile (about 30 PL cards?) into 19 greeting cards for Bring Smiles to Seniors. They're really simple but they came together pretty well and I think they'll be useful for senior men especially. I only needed a couple of extra sheets of colored cardstock, and one stamp set, and I barely had any scraps leftover to put in the bin. The orange ones are a bit of a hodgepodge but I like the black white red ones. joblackford - brilliant designs! The orange ones are my favourite because I love the lines! And the colourful butterflies of course! joyfulnana, what a great collection of stories. It's the best part of scrapbooking in my opinion. The photos and the pps in the hexies on "so much joy" are glorious! grammadee - swoon over the foil mapleleaf! How did you do that? I agree - I love our national holiday so much, partly because it ushers in summer!

sleepingbooty, what a cute little puppy. I really like the busier background paper. It has the same gray tones as the fur on your puppy and looks perfect for this layout. I love your layering and the addition of the flower. She looks so snuggly! joblackford, that black light photo of the hornworm is amazing. Who knew they glowed in the dark. I haven’t seen any this year, but it would be fun to see them in the dark with the black light...before they eat my tomatoes to the ground. ~ Your card designs are beautiful. I love the elements you have put together. Very classy Christmas cards. ~ What wonderful things you do with simple PL cards saying Hello. These are all so nice. Each will be appreciated. I especially like the butterflies. You are amazing. KikiPea, I love your pages of the tea party. Did you all make your own fascinators? They are really cool. Great photos and I love the big one on the 2nd page with the flag design behind it. Beautiful work. AussieMeg, grammadee, joyfulnana, Chinagirl828, 2marbles these is love left in the gallery. I think I caught everything. Great work, ladies.

Beautiful work. AussieMeg Thank you! We did not, but that’s a fun idea! Most got them on Amazon. The British lady that provided all the goodies brought some from home when she went back recently. grammadee - swoon over the foil mapleleaf! How did you do that? I agree - I love our national holiday so much, partly because it ushers in summer! Sorry to disappoint you, but that filigree leaf is not foil: it is a laser wood cutting from Southern Ridge Trading company. It is on a circle I cut from foil cs. I left it its natural colour. But now I am thinking that I could have used gold glaze to colour it...

Thanks ladies Catching up since my last proper visit. AussieMeg Red Hot Chili Billy is fun and colorful. Do you have a layout about your son out and about in his undies?! Lol. Not sure if he’d appreciate you making one All Boy - he’s wearing clothes! I love the paint sprays in the background and how they tie the rainbow of your color scheme together. And all the fun little tucked-in elements. Farmhouse Country - what a wonderful big picture - one of the best things about digital, I’d say. The cow doesn’t seem out of place, especially since it’s part of the story. When I drive past my grandparents’ home these days I have that same feeling - how is it so small? It never used to be. The Choose Joy music festival page is very joyful! The cluster of flowers and ribbons in the middle is gorgeous. Puppy Love - oh my, what a cutie! That puppy face. I really like that banner above the journaling. sleepingbooty never apologize for awesome puppy pages. What cuties. Good for you for keeping so current with documenting this fleeting moment with them. Phyllis is such a sweetheart! Those eyes and that sweet face, and a lovely layout too. I love your layers.
LisaDV the “Priceless” family selfie page is very neat. That’s a good use for stripes of text paper and I like that you were able to tuck in some journaling. Tammiem2pnc1 Great use of woodgrain paper on the camping page and I love all your little word strips to tell the story. And a sweet kitty page! Lovely colors to set off the photo of your sweet Lola girl. nylene yay, more Cousin Camp! What fun pages. I love the texture and inking on the die cuts and the journaling made me giggle. No tatts on faces and necks is a good rule to live by, imo. The dino themed menu is so fun and I love the way you did the title. The birthday card for your son is really cool! So many neat details and textures. I think you can add one more point for the engineered envelope since it was a Christmas supply used for a non Christmas project (# 57). grammadee your Mom’s Turn to Play pages are really fun. The inking in the background to mimic the colors in the photos and the chain link fence design are really nice touches, and great to document this part of family life. Your crop gift envelopes look like a lot of fun. I’m sure they’ll be very well received. Your anniversary and birthday cards are wonderful - great colors and textures and that worm is fab. I’m sure your brother will love his funny card. Your Canada Day page - I love that leaf on the foil circle - I’m sure it looks even cooler in person (shiny things are so hard to show off!) And your doodled border is such a nice touch. I didn’t even notice that you had engineered the title letters until I looked at your points. Hello summer - you did a great job of highlighting the shoulder frog. What a cute kid. Your torn paper hills and tucked tree are great. 2marbles great to see your digital page - it looks great! The banner and the hexagons are lovely and the washi tape at the top of the photo looks great. I hope you’re having fun with it. KikiPea more wonderful group photos I love your Union Jack and how you used both papers on both pages to tie them together. So much fun Chinagirl828 Your Weymouth page is lovely. I love the tucked tags and the fussy cut flowers and the stars stenciled in the background. That looks like a great stencil. joyfulnana wonderful to see your page and your DGS helping with your scrapping. I love watching kiddos looking through photos. Love the way your embellishments move the eye through your page and the arrows point your attention in to the details. Crafting with Mom - it looks like it’s a family tradition! Nice to see you on the page. I like being able to see some of the room in the background too - that’s always interesting when you look back on photos many years later. Stitch being Stitch - how funny! What a great little story to document Love your clusters of hearts. Joy in the Boy - awww, what a sweet face. I love that you were able to use both photos to show his mood. The hexagons are fun and colorful and the two orange ones help highlight the photos somehow

Wow, 2 layouts in 17 days of July. Go me. Guess I'm saving it up for this weekend lazy craft-n-chat? I started with the plan to use a banner across the top, but it turned into a photo banner I'm super pleased with how my mixed media background turned out. I decided to use 2 different pinks, and 2 different yellows, and gesso my paper, and spritz water right onto the cardstock like Missy Whiddon does...and it WORKED!
BTW, my DD (the one wearing MY plaid shirt) (note to self. Do layout on the achievement that DD actually steals my clothes. Parental win!) is only 15 here...it's the friends who turned 16 layout silly sweet sixteen by kirstendrew, on Flickr
