I've been watching cleaning videos on youtube. It seems that quite a few of the videos are a "daily" or "nightly" cleaning routine. And everyone of these ladies appears to mop their entire first floor on the daily. I mop once a week at best. I am starting to feel like a total slacker.

Kitchen - once a week, twice if I’ve been sloppy
Hardwood - once a month or so, honesty it doesn’t need it that often
Bathrooms - once a week unless there’s a reason to do it more often
I have kids but no pets and my floors don’t get dirty enough often enough to mop daily.

Most of our first floor is hardwood. I clean it the old fashioned way, on my hands and knees, so it gets spot cleaned and dry Swiffered as needed and cleaned more thoroughly once a week. Maybe every other week. My kitchen is ceramic tile. I use a wet Swiffer on it every other day.

My MIL sweeps a few times a day and mops every morning.
I follow an "as needed" schedule and while wipe up areas in between my semi-annual full first floor mopping.

I mop once a week and spot clean in between if necessary. I can't imagine mopping daily. That doesn't make me feel like a slacker, it makes me feel like daily moppers need some other interests in their lives

I live alone and the entry to my condo is inside, so not a lot gets tracked in. My main floor ia all large format tile, it gets steam cleaned every 2 weeks. I sweep every other day (cat fur and tracked litter). I'll spot steam clean if I make a mess between full first floor cleanings.

No kids and no pets so once a week is enough for me.
I do have a friend with 2 kids and 4 dogs and she mops daily.

Right?!? Even way back when I had a crawling baby I didn't mop as often as some people do. And I'm no slacker about keeping my place clean and picked up.

I'm like you-- I feel quite virtuous if I mop weekly.

You're supposed to mop? LOL, my cleaning lady mops every other week, I touch up with a swiffer wet in between as needed unless someone spills (which really we just clean up with towels/cleaner, the mop itself rarely gets used).

Every 2 weeks.
And by that I mean my cleaning lady does my floors every 2 weeks. In between I sweep/spot wipe if needed.
I do NOT have time for daily mopping. LOL

Why in the world would you mop daily? We don't wear shoes in the house, maybe that makes a big difference.

My cleaning lady mopped twice a week, but she retired in May and it hasn't been mopped since!!! Yes, three exclamation points. In my defense, I've swept a lot and my kitchen was barely used in June.

Once a week, if I am really disciplined. I’m more likely to spot clean as needed than getting the mop out.

I’m firmly in the camp of “who cares how often other people mop?” I mop not as often as some people feel necessary, but often enough for my own comfort level.

We spend most of our time in our great room. That and the downstairs bathroom we use the most are mopped at least once a day.
The areas we don't frequent, but do use, are mopped at least once a week. (Master bath, entryway, etc.)
Areas that don't get much use (guest bath, i am looking at you) are mopped every couple weeks unless or anytime someone stays with us.

I'd much rather not have to mop every day, but the tile in our great room is light and shows everything. I hate it. Our next house will have hardwood in every room.

I mop when company is coming. Which, for me, is this weekend. Occasionally, I will notice that it takes more than a spot clean (usually pet related) or after the snow stops for the winter, I will do it. But most large cleaning projects in our house get done if someone is coming over and staying for at least several hours.

It gets mopped once a week when the housekeeper is here. She was off last week for the 4th so it hasn't been mopped in 2 weeks. Looks fine to me. If I need to spot clean I'll grab the Bona and a microfiber cloth, but that's not often. Either my house doesn't get that dirty...or I have very low standards!

I vacuum my carpet & hardwood once a week (all rooms). No pets. Even when my (now over 21) kids were younger it was still a once a week chore. Sadly truly mopping the bathrooms or even the hardwood is about a once a year chore unless there has been an accident/spill.

Maybe twice a week-ish. It depends really, I spilt a cup of coffee this morning so I had to mop when I'd only done it yesterday. I do sweep every day.

Oh hell no.. daily? weekly?
Usually when I start getting the jitters... OR I can just see it needs to be done.
Unlike my grandmother back in the 1920, 30s and so forth... my mom said she cleaned her kitchen floor twice a day on her hands and knees. 8 kids. 2 loaves of fresh bread being made daily plus I am sure other stuff and making three meals a day. I don't have any idea how that woman survived. No husband after the age of 41 or 42. One special needs child. She wasn't any bigger than a kiddo in 8th grade.

I mop once a week...more if needed. Like in the summer when there are generally more people here and they are definitely messier! Yesterday some unknown person spilled their coffee in the entryway, undoubtedly on their way out the door to work. I didn't see it until the sun came through the front windows because coffee blends in with my black walnut flooring. So it got it yesterday too.

When the bottom of my socks start looking dirty! Ha! I usually use the Swiffer Wet a couple times a week and do the regular mop when I feel the floors need to. I had DH get the mop and bucket from the garage a couple of days ago and it’s still sitting in the corner of the kitchen unused. I truly hate sweeping and mopping.

We have hardwood floors on entire first level and I steam them once a month. I use a wet swifter mop whenever I see lots of water drops or doggie prints. I don’t even own a good old fashioned mop any longer. Just the shark steamer, bona mop I never use, and the swifter stick which I use wet clothes on. My main thing is vacuuming. Everyday! Dark hardwood is my nightmare.

it's just me and DH. we have two dogs but they are layabouts so no muddy tracks into the house. all floors get deep mopped once a month. the rest of the times it's as needed in the more high traffic areas.
