Mine does not, and I work for a Hospital/health network.
I am against mass drug tests and think they should be done only if warranted on an individual basis.

Current employer, no.
Previous employer, yes. They had a warehouse and didn’t want to only test the warehouse workers so they randomly tested all of us. I think I was tested two or three times in the three years I worked there.

Never. Not pre-employment or during. Neither as a nurse in both a hospital setting handling drugs nor in a corporate setting.
It's no something that is done commonly here, which thinking about it, is probably surprising considering the estimated numbers of doctors and nurses who may have substance abuse issues. I have had police checks and also a 'working with children' clearance before starting new jobs. I guess if drug related offences turned up on police checks then maybe they would ask for regular drug tests...but I don't really know. I've never been aware of anyone who didn't pass those tests.

No. I work for state government and there are no drug tests for either agency I’ve worked for. That explains how one of my coworkers is still there...
Dd3 had to have a drug test for one of the computer software programming internships she got. I have two dds in computer programming and only one place has required that from their collective internships and jobs.

My employer currently drug tests before hiring but didn’t when I was hired. We work with federal contracts so even though marijuana is legal in our state we cannot use it (not that I want to). Ironically my dd works for the federal government and has never been tested. same, but once I retire I'm becoming a pot head!

I‘Ve had friends, who were more than occasional smokers, stop for a lot less than a month and pass. They drank a lot of water (and peed a lot ) to flush their systems. Whether it always works or they were just lucky...whose knows? Good luck.

I did prior to being hired but no others unless I file a workman's comp claim. I was told it is the law in VA but I haven't looked to see if that is the case. I take adderall for OCD. My test came back positive (obviously). I had to send the company a photo of my prescription bottle. That was it.

I just started a new job a month ago. It's the first time I did not have to do a drug screening for employment, nor do they drug screen randomly.

I'm not currently formally employed, but I never had to take one except prior to employment. At one job, that was pretty surprising as I worked for a government entity, had to drive around the entire day, and inspect active construction sites (i.e. walk around them, etc.). I was always surprised they didn't require ongoing testing. Of course, maybe they did and I just never was selected.

The only staff that drug tests are the ones that teach classes in the prison/jails. It's a requirement they have put on us. We do not drug test unless you are injured - then we make them drug test.
I'm glad we don't - I'm pretty sure a good handful of our staff smoke weed. It's legal in California but would still show up on a test.

yes - just pre-employment. Even though marijuana is legal in my state it is still a no hire if you test positive.

We didn't have to do any sort of testing for my job. I work for a comics and collectibles dealer, and can (and have) show up to the office in a tshirt and shorts. We can't be any more laid back.

Yes I can be drug tested. If they do choose to ask. Randomly. I’ve never heard of them asking for one though. Not even the ones who are obviously drunk after lunch.
I think it’s just in the book in case it ever makes sense to spend the money drug testing someone. Then they’ll pull in a few extras to make it look random.

I said Other. Simply because I am often times the one collecting the samples from my offenders. My employer does not require testing, however, if an employee represents with mannerisms that suggest use, they will send up home. If it continues, they will require testing.

I'm an occasional weed smoker. Smoked a month ago or so. Now I have to pass a drug test to get hired. Just really freaking out. I worked so hard to get this job and it was a long interview process. Is there a way I can fail the drug test? I have read from some resources that marijuana can stay up to 60 days in the system. Any personal experience would be highly appreciated. THC can stay in your system for 90+ days depending on how often and how much you smoke. Most labs have a threshold that a test must raise above to be considered positive. So for us, if someone has 50mg/ml of THC, the Court considers it a positive test. In some cases, the Court considers a positive test at 30ng/ml.
If you used once a week and 1 bowl/joint, you should be somewhere 30 ng/ml or under. (this is from my training and experience in 25+ years as a probation officer.) So it will depend on what the employer considers positive. If it's a zero, you may have issues. If it's a low number like 30, you may be okay.

Too much liquid before a test dilutes your creatinine and makes testing invalid.

Yes, my last two jobs I had to be tested before hiring. Both said they do random testing but I have yet to be picked to be tested.

I wonder if they gave it a few days after stopping drinking as much ( and I think you have to be careful, as you hear stories about tragic outcomes from too much fluids) if that will allow your sample to not be diluted? All I know is I was shocked when they said they had passed. Also this was probably 5 or more years ago, I wonder if testing has changed? I find the peas so knowledgeable on so many subjects. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Weird stuff like this fascinates me.

The latest thing is baking soda. They eat about a cup or so of it and it goes through their system to make them test negative for a couple of hours. However, it also raises the body's alkaline level and can kill them.

I work for a municipality. We have to pass both a drug test and a pre-employment physical before a conditional job offer becomes official. We can be drug tested at any time. Typically, it only happens after a workman's comp claim or a car accident in a village owned vehicle for any of the office employees. The guys who work with me in Public Works and the police officers are tested on a random basis, but everyone tests at least 2x per year. We have a budget line item for our department for drug testing. One of my duties is to use at least 85% of that line item each fiscal year. Our PW department does one whole crew test every year between Labor Day and Thanksgiving, just before plowing season kicks off. In fact, I just scheduled it with the coordinator this week.

I work for a government agency and we aren’t drug tested at any point. We also aren’t allowed to smoke, I assume that’s more to do with insurance purposes. DH works for a private company and isn’t drug tested.

Dh was active duty in the Navy for 23+ years - regular random testing throughout. That is the reality of everyone serving in the military. He isn’t tested in his current job.
While teaching at the university level, I was never tested over the 15 years I was employed.

No drug test here. I had to do a full background check upon being hired but no drug test then and I've never heard of any employee having to do one randomly or anything. It's funny to me because I was drug tested for my very first job as a cashier at drugstore. Now, I work in local government and there is no drug test for that!

I haven't worked in 20+ years but yes, the only jobs I didn't have to be drug tested before employment were my two DoD internships - all my other jobs (grocery cashier/stocker and fast food) required it
DH works in engineering for a factory - pre-employment tests, random tests, and automatic tests if there's an accident. Supervisor can also request a test if they feel its warranted. It's pretty randomly generated and even if you're working from home - you have a set amount of time to go to work or an independent lab for a test if your name gets pulled.
