I just read that Lawn Fawn is no longer allowing retailers to discount pre-orders. They can only offer up to 10% off 30 days after a release unless it's on clearance and they cannot have a constant 10% off sale. I'll only be buying lawn fawn on clearance or if a store has a blanket coupon. Time to check out Hello Bluebird. 👍
ETA: I was misinformed. Lawn Fawn products cannot be discounted for 30 days. After that retailers cannot have an everyday price below 10% off but they can discount further for temporary sales. I don't know if there's a limit on sale prices.

I guess I have bought my last Lawn Fawn products. Even with a discount, I have always thought their dies are pretty expensive - which doesn't explain why I have so darn many!

Hello Bluebird recently started photographing their sets at an angle, and I cannot for the life of me see them well enough to decide if I want to buy-- they are practically horizontal. I can't make out all the images and I can't see all the sentiments. Now, I realize why they are doing this-- it's to prevent the image thieves from making knockoffs-- but Mama Elephant started doing that, too, and I can see all of their stamps just fine.

It might be easiest to look at cards others have made, but even then you may not see every stamp in the set.

I never checked out the Hello Bluebird site before. Cute stuff. Their stamp prices are not that off from lLawn Fawn but the dies are way cheaper. I’ll be keeping this in mind for my next shopping ‘trip’.

This won't change my buying practice with Lawn Fawn. I never expect anything new to be discounted in the first place (cars, cell phones, clothes etc) so I would not expect it with stamps either. I am in Canada so maybe I am just use to paying arms and legs more than lucky Americans.
I don't generally buy the dies as I use my scan n cut but I do buy all the interactive dies though.

It's not so much that they aren't discounted when they're new but a 10% limit is not much of a discount on older items. And retailers cannot have them 10% off long term. Only temporary sales allowed.

Oh I totally misunderstood. I didn't realize it was all the stamps that would be effected. I thought just the new ones couldn't be on sale more than 10%.

New ones can't be put on sale at all until 30 days after they've been released.

I think Mama Elephant does this too. I was at a small store in the US last year that was offering a discount on stamps, but the discount on the Mama Elephant stamps was only 10%. When I asked why they said it was Mama Elephant's terms of selling, not theirs.

I recently purchased HB, had an issue with the way one of the dies didn’t cut correctly. After contacting the company and sending a photo, I got some run around, so I tossed the die and moved on. I know how to use my cutting machine and don’t need advice on that. I doubt I’ll order from them again, even though their stuff is cute.
