'Love always' about puppy fostering turning sour because of humans, not the actual poor pup, the heartbreak afterwards and trying to find the positive in the memories I'm sorry for the bad situation. That is such a beautiful page! Where did you get the elements on your first two pages you posted? The This Right Here, and love always? They have a Pink Fresh Studios look to them.

grammadee Ruh-roh, the scrappy pressure cooker strikes again! Did you cut and colour the little lake scene yourself? It looks great in the middle of the first page, holding everything together and painting out the main theme. Thanks! Yes I cut and inked that lake piece myself. I had ordered THIS die set from Elizabeth Crafts, but when I first cut it out, I didn't quite know what to do with it. It needed some creative inking in the background or maybe cutting it out of several different colours then paper piecing the scene. But I am not known for my patience, so the cut piece languished in my scrap room until I unearthed it a week or so ago. Still wasn't sure what to do with it, but had some lake pages to do. This morning, I snipped off the mountains in the background (the kids were camping in flat Saskatchewan), inked the trees and horizon with oxide inks and a makeup brush, slapped it back on the navy cs I had had it sitting on, and went from there. Of course it doesn't look nearly as nice as their sample, but I am happy with how it looks on the page, blending in with the photos rather than competing with them.

decided to toss the rest of this alpha pack after doing this layout - I don't especially care for the white background and the adhesive sucks...and everytime I use them, I look at them and wonder why? Thanks oh yvonne for your challenge

sleepingbooty, your pup page is adorable. So sad that the experience did not end on a happy note. At least she had love and attention with you and your mom. Hope completing this page will help you feel better.

How sweet that you scrapped the postcard, Linda ! Thanks! I like scrapping postcards that my kids send from trips in their trip albums - adds a bit of their handwriting to the album and gives me something to DO with the postcard So they usually try to send me a view that they weren't able to get a photo of - either due to photography restrictions or because it's a different vantage point or season/time of day.

Love for page one! linda - love those big circles! That's something I seem to struggle with. I love the way you always make the photos the focus of the layouts choosing exactly the right colors to make them pop! And all the flags and added bits and bobs that are the perfect touch. I like your flower cluster, I think it looks great! Clusters aren't my strong suit that's for sure It's good to see you scrapping again and your DS is going to have such a fantastic keepsake of his time in Japan! sleepingbooty - I love the watercolor background and the bright pops of orange on "Local Food" I really like the color scheme you chose, and those stapled elements. "Love Always" simply beautiful LO and precious puppy photo. I love all the white space and open it feels. I'm sorry the story didn't end well. Love in the gallery for Chinagirl828 and grammadee!

I am sharing this in two places, because the second page is for Sketchtember #3, but the title that runs across both pages is for KikiPea 's Song Title/Lyrics challenge. It doesn't QUITE fit b/c the words to "Teddybears' Picnic" go "If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise". But I am hoping KikiPea gives me the point Either way, that song has now taken over my brain... If you go down to the lake today by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Thanks, Linda . The song is still running on loop through my brain! No wonder you are slow getting started what with all you did over the weekend, the hurricane on-again/off-again warnings and a house full of people. Love your pages. That 3 photos down the side is a classic design I like to use. And the papers you chose are PERFECT! Can't believe you found something to mimic the reflection on the train windshield! Getting pages done is what it's all about Dictionary! Pretty page. Love the pinks and all the hearts and flowers!

Oh man, I went straight from Teddybear's Picnic to Sweet Caroline, bah bah bahhh! so good so good so good This month is going to be insane. I apologize in advance for not commenting as much as I might like to. I'm trying to spend more time making (gardening, walking, reading) and less time online (in the "infinity pools" of the internet, as one book described it). And there are so many challenges and so many people playing this month! Awesome, but I already feel like I'm behind. lol. I did a project this morning - a TN ephemera journal to hold all the papers and tickets that I squirrel away. I've been trying to get to this all . year but I didn't have the right kind of book. I finally found one that spoke to me, and it has beautiful, forgiving paper. The last two I used tore when I had to lift something up to make it straight, which I do all. the. time. Sharing an Instagram video for now, but I can take proper pictures if you'd like to see more details. It's wonderfully random and I kind of love it. I realized I was ready to start when I woke up this morning, so I jumped out of bed at 5:45 and worked on it until lunchtime! http://instagram.com/p/B19c5PeAxYd

joblackford, I LOVE that TN! Those colours really pop on the black, and it looks like it was fun to create and delightful to leaf through. No need to take individual photos of the pages for us, but you can certainly count points for each of them Speaking of counting, and feeling behind, gramma and I posted the spreadsheet and printable list of all this month’s challenges. Over 100 challenges! And I have been scrambling to get a bunch of pages done this week without counting anything. Goal for today will be add em all up... is there a song for that?

I have left love in the gallery for those who have posted in the gallery. So many beautiful layouts...so little time! Linda, those photos on Honmary Garden are beautiful. I love the big circle with the stitching. I love your Japan page. ~ Yugen pages are gorgeous. The design really fits the Japanese style. Love these. ~ I think your flower cluster looks great on the Japanese Bell page. They look minimalist which is a style you see all over Japan. Lovely.~I love the characters you have added to your Temple pages. The folded crane is beautiful and appropriate. ~ I love the banners on your Never Stop Exploring page. Those wonderful photos really make these pages. Love the added information.~ I am glad you added the postcard to the Enjoy the Journey page. The architecture in these photos is so interesting. Thanks for sharing.~ That door is amazing. The Japanese people make everything look artistic. I am enjoying these photos ~ I had to laugh at your comments about your Beauty page. I think the letters look fine. I know how it is when something is just not.your.style ~Your Nijo-jo page is so rich-looking. How nice that you could add the postcard too. Lots of memories in this album. ~ I love the design on your Kyoto Railway Museum pages. They flow together beautifully. My husband would have loved that museum. sleepingbooty, your pumpkin page is so artistic. I love the different sizes of your photos and elements. That background is a perfect design. I love every inch of this layout. Your Love Always page made me sad as I read about your experience. I hope that cute little pup was adopted and kept safe. Your page is beautiful and I’m glad you got that written out. Hugs. Dictionary, your Sweet Caroline page is so pretty. I love the way you have used the colors together. They blend together so beautifully. Your little Caroline is a darling. Adorable photo. Now I am humming that tune! ~ I love your Claire page. There is such a joy in seeing little ones meeting siblings. Your colors are beautiful and I love the rick rack. joblackford, I love, love, love your TN. I love the loosely themed pages. It’s fun to see just random memorabilia. I would love to do something similar but I think I’m too regimented. I may give it a try though. It might loosen me up! LOL
