This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point. There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

I hope you all had a great long weekend. It's fun to go play, but always nice to come home. I look forward to doing a little more scrapping this month and a whole lot less coughing. LOL.
If you are working on team challenges we would love to see either the layout or a link to it on the Sharing thread.
Happy Scrapping, Pokeys.

Thanks for setting this up again, nylene. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time with family and that you are home again safe. I am planning to head out of here Friday and won't be back for almost two weeks. Spending the weekend in Calgary area with a couple of my sons' families. Then flying to BC to spend some time with my other son's girls while Mom & Dad go on a short vacation. Flying back to Calgary on the 17th and driving home after that. Had planned to attend a Grandparents' Day activity with dd and her little guy closer to Edmonton on Sunday, but Grampa is going to pick up that engagement to give me more time to visit with two families and seven dgk's in the Calgary area. Am dealing on a new vehicle, so need to drive to the dealership again this week to finalize details and price, pay the deposit and sign all the papers. Meanwhile I need to get some stuff off the garden this week (the tomatoes in case it freezes while I am gone, and some carrots and other veggies to take with me to the kids' homes). Was feeling like I was coming down with a head cold, but feeling pretty energetic today. I think the adrenalyn and caffeine have chased the virus away--or into hiding!

grammadee, I hope the caffeine and adrenaline have chased the virus away. You don't need sickness while you are off having fun with the "grands". It sounds like a wonderful trip. Do you plan to try to keep up with scrapping and Sketchtember? I hope you have a wonderful time and that you accomplish everything you want. There is something so wonderful about being around the grands. I got better acquainted with my sister's grands this weekend. Since my Cousin Camp will soon be losing the older girls I may invite her grands to come in a few years. They would fit right in and my sis could help too. Have a very safe trip. A new vehicle sounds fun!!

Do you plan to try to keep up with scrapping and Sketchtember? I have to take a larger suitcase when I fly to stay with the girls b/c I have my youngest dgd's bd gift to transport (and I get free luggage checking on my BMO card), and I am going to have a couple of days with the girls in school, so I am planning to tuck in a tool bag and some papers and photos to scrap while I am there. There is a WM nearby where I can print photos of the weekend before and of my adventures with the girls, so I will be well set up to do at least SOME scrapping while I am there. Not sure if I will get to all the sketches this month, but hope to catch the ones I miss when I get back.

nylene, how was the reunion? I’m glad you are home safe. I’m sure you had fun. grammadee, a new car is exciting. I hope you have chased the virus away because it sounds like you have way too much going on to be sick. joyfulnana, that ending on the Boys really surprised me. We’re waiting for Umbrella Academy and Jack Ryan too. As long as the stocking is finished by Christmas, it doesn’t matter how long before. I’m glad your workload is starting to lessen. Lake Michigan is awesome. Actually Michigan is awesome, you know 4 out of 5 great Lakes prefer Michigan. lol Linda, I’m glad dd hasn’t been late since the bus change and that ds is settling into his new routine. woodysbetty, welcome back to the boards (saw you around and wanted to remind you of this little corner of the peas). How is FL treating you? My sister and bil left this morning. They arrived Saturday and I had lots of visiting down time but no time for the computer. After leaving today, we had our first day of school. Orientation which usually takes a couple of days and setting up the girl for hers took a majority of the day. DD finished her first day and part of her orientation with flying colors. She’s been fairly excited and chatty which is nice. Currently the family is playing a board game after dinner. I cleaned up after dinner and had some laundry that needed dealt with before sitting down here to visit with the pokeys. Next week my BFF is coming in from Monday through Thursday. She’s taking a train up with a friend that has family in Indiana. The friend’s family is going to drive her halfway and I said I’d drive her to their place on Thursday. Then either Thursday evening or Friday morning, the kids and I will take off for the farm. We have DDS, the ortho and DDs well check up that following week. But must be back for the following weekend when DS and DH will be spending the weekend in Chicago. Whew. I’m already exhausted from the travel. And my to do list keeps growing. I feel like it’s one of those old cartoon scrolls that they drop down and it just rolls and rolls for miles. With all of that, I don’t know how many sketches I’ll get to this month. I know I won’t be able to keep up with commenting. But I have to do some, because crafting is my de-stressor. I’m going to go look at the already posted sketches now and see about starting one.

LisaDV, your itinerary sounds exhausting. You and grammadee are over-achievers. I hope you each have fun with friends and family. I understand your feelings of scrapping being a de-stressor. I have always felt that my scrapping was my therapy. I really missed it while I had the flu. linda, I am so glad you are out of the storm's path. It looks like it will do so much damage up and down the coast. I'm so glad to see you back on the boards and posting layouts this month. We have missed you. You have a great start already. grammadee, I don't know how you scrap so fast. I am amazed that your goal is a layout a day. You do great new techniques that would take me hours to do. You must choose papers faster than I do too. That can sometimes take me an hour! LOL I hope you do get the time to do some scrapping. Please have a safe trip. I finished a page today but I am waiting for Nuvo drops to dry. I did them on wax paper, I'm not brave enough to do them on the actual layout. It felt good to play with paper and glue! The sketches are really great so far! Waving at all the Pokeys. Drop by when you get a moment, and catch us up on what's going on in your lives.

nylene welcome back! Having your sisters grands join summer camp when your older ones leave it sounds like a good idea! I'm sure they would love it! I've been so bad about posting my creating here in this thread. But then I haven't had anything to post lately either lol. I have some waxed paper with nuvo drops too. Sometimes I feel brave and put them right on the page, other times I don't. grammadee you are so busy! I would be exhausted with it all. But then I'm an introvert and need a lot of downtime by myself lol. It's awesome that you are able to see your far away kids so often and help them out like this. I agree with nylene, you scrap so much faster than I do and you are always using techniques that take me forever. It also takes me forever to decide on paper lol. A layout a day is something I would love to accomplish but I have to get a heck of a lot faster lol. LisaDV Michigan IS awesome! I love it there! You are super busy too. Your to do list SOUNDS like one of those cartoon scrolls! But how fun to have all the visitors! Except as mentioned above it would have me so tired lol I'm waiting for This Is Us and A Million Little Things and The Crown now. That's awesome that DD is excited about school I'm not sure most kids are at that age. linda sounds like you are definitely safe from Dorian now! I can't believe some of the video I've seen from the Bahamas, or that it just stalled there like it did, moving so slowly. Yay that DD hasn't been late anymore. Even though it wasn't her fault! I finally have 3 of 4 of my sketches ready to go. I want to get them done so I can start on the others, they all look so good! I can't remember the last time I did a layout with a sketch. I'm really hoping to get several of them done this month and there are so many challenges that will hopefully up my point total as well! I'm hoping I can keep the mojo going all this month for a change. Not a lot going on here, I've been scouring my cookbooks looking for some new, quick recipes for dinner. Tuesday seems to be my menu planning night lately. I made time for a little yoga this morning and omg that first big stretch felt so good! It always makes me wonder why I let yoga fall to the back burner when I really do love it.

joyfulnana, good reminder that I should finish my sketches before working on others. Except I want one to be paper so I do have to wait for the farm for that one. I consider my crafting time part of my down time when I just deal with my immediate family. I realized that it doesn't work when I've had to be social with others last night. I had some time, but couldn't work. Hopefully today things will be clicking again. ABCreations, what cute photos and those patches are adorable. Are they real or digital? So I've switched to firefox as my browser, but I've noticed Linda and ABCreations photos don't show up on firefox. Not sure if anyone else's don't show up. I noticed it last night while oogling the layouts in the share thread that Linda's weren't there but I had remembered seeing them. So I went to my phone and pulled up the same thread. Yep, they were there. Just did it with ABCreations's. Strange, if anyone has a fix or a clue as to why??? please share. I bet Cindy would have known.

Welcome ABCreations. I love the quote in your signature!! What a pretty layout. The strip in the center with title, journaling and cute garden scene is so eye catching. I love the photos of their flowers and your communication ideas. Adding the little yellow petal badge in the corner was perfect. They seem to be enjoying Girl Scouts. Are you the leader? My DD is a leader in CA. joyfulnana , I love the sketch you have posted so far. It's one I want to do for sure. I'm glad to know that others are as Pokey choosing papers and embellishments as I am. LOL on the wax paper. I guess we aren't very brave. Has work slowed down for you a bit? We have had a warm snap with near 100 degree temps after having a couple of weeks of cold nights and mornings. I still see a lot of RV's on the roads so you may still be busy. I can't wait to see the rest of your sketches. LisaDV , my DSIL is from Michigan and he agrees that it is a beautiful state. He lived on one of the lakes as a young boy. I think he's getting used to Utah, but his heart is in Michigan. How's the driving with DS? I'm glad your DD is enjoying school and doing well physically right now. Enjoy all your visitors. They will enjoy your new house and pool! grammadee , I love the challenge for choosing and using one item that has been neglected. I need to do this every month to get through some of my embellishments. Thanks for starting that. It looks like we have tons of challenges from which to choose each time we scrap. It looks like a fun month. Thanks for setting that all up.

LisaDV - no idea why they aren't showing on Firefox - they are hosted on FB so maybe that has something to do with it? Today is not off to a fabulous start - DH decided to get up early (and his alarm woke me) and then my alarm went off 30 minutes early (I think he set it wrong) and I hadn't slept well to begin with. And one of the cats has an upset tummy and there were ants in DD12's closet on her clothes....I'm hoping it improves from here on out. ABCreations - lovely page with the patch in the centre - Daisies are such a fun age! Hi to everyone else

Hey ladies. Thanks for all the travel wishes. Hope they come true for the upcoming 12 days! I have the vehicle packed and I *think* I am ready to embark from here.
For Calgary/Airdrie: I have a small suitcase of clothes etc and my summer scrapbook. Also the Disney scrapbook to leave with ds & family whom I joined on that trip. Also have two coolers with carrots and cabbages and jam from the farm to two households.
For Abbotsford (where I will be flying on Tuesday): a larger suitcase in which is a bd gift for my dgd plus a small case of scrappy tools and an iris tub of papers & supplies for the *possible* two days I will have to myself at the house while the adults are away and the kids are in school.
For Morinville (where I will be staying the night after I get back on the 17th): doggie stuff for the pup that dd is planning to pick up for us on the 20th or 21st.
WHEW!!! Haven't even left, and I am already exhausted! This calls for a Tim Hortons' stop within the first hour!
Also have my book, my ipad & iPhone, and need to grab my purse, a jacket & a hat, and I should be ready to hit the road!
TTYL!

Hi ladies! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! I still have one more of my sketches to finish. I think that's where I was last time I posted lol. But I'm going to go catch up on commenting and then scrap the rest of this evening so here's hoping for a finished LO! We had a picnic in the park today and it is so much fun watching Rudy just run and jump and climb with abandon! It makes me smile. Part of I-70 is closed this weekend for construction, so finding alternate routes everywhere has been interesting, but I think I've some back road routes that I will keep. I do everything I can to stay off of I-70 - there's always so much traffic hard to change lanes, etc. @abcreations I love that grid and that patch in the center is so pretty and perfect! It makes me think of my scouting days. Long long ago lol. grammadee you sound so organized and ready to go! Safe travels!

ABCreations I love the bees and daisies and all the photos. nylene I’m glad you’re feeling better and getting creative. I put the Nuvos straight on the page! kellyr21 I would take some of your heat! The leaves are starting to turn in my knocking the woods and it feels like fall. @disadv back to school is such a busy time. I taught my first week last week and I’m exhausted. grammadee have fun with the grandkids. Stacey is all set to register us on Wednesday for the LSS crop. I’ve had a fantastic weekend. We (my DH, MIL, BIL, and me) drove to the city Saturday. We went to the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival and I was actually a little restrained. I only bought one sheet of paper. And four stamp sets, and four ink pads, and some sequins, and a little pack of wooden stars, and a yoga chipboard set. Then I went to a dress store I love and bought a dress and an outfit for Halloween. It’s not really a costume, just a jumper with spider webs webs on the pockets and bats on the bib and a shirt to wear under it. Then we went to see Rent. It was very good. Then we went for fondue. I had such a good day.

justjac - sounds like a fabulous weekend! joyfulnana - the picnic sounds fun - the construction not so much - glad you've been able to mostly avoid it. No scrapping this weekend until today - I lost my motivation on Friday when I discovered that some-cat had peed in my alphabet sticker box and I had to toss the whole thing. Then Saturday we had a Girl Scout event for A. and then stopped by the museum at Camp Blanding afterwards - it was a training base during WW2 and the museum was really very interesting. It was HOT though - 96 and humid - yuck! Dh isn't feeling well today and is tucked up in bed so I'm scrapping - working on June 2018 at the moment.

Happy Sunday, Pokeys! We have had a busy weekend between kids’ hockey try outs and parents’ rodeo event finals. A bit of quiet time now as the boys are playing outside with the neighbourhood kids. It has been cool and wet today, but thankfully not raining now. Ugh Linda on the stickers! I have never had THAT happen, but did manage to drop a mesh bag filled with chipboard letters into a puddle when transferring stuff for a crop. It’s frustrating to lose a go-to supply no matter how it happens. Hope you got lots of photos of that little guy running and enjoying the free play, joyfulnana. I still have one sketch sample to do up as well, and I only had two to do! As I said on the Sketchtember planning chat PM, if it weren’t for the last minute, nothing would get done... Glad that Dorian avoided you, Linda. Hoping that msliz and woodysbetty will check in to let us know they have survived the storm as well. Your Saturday sounds awesome, justjac. New scrappy supplies AND new clothes? Awesome! I have a transition day tomorrow, leaving here after boys are on the bus and heading over to my other son’s house by after school. Think I will use the time to print pic’s from this weekend and maybe check out a couple of scrapbook stores in Calgary. I also need to get my niece’s bd card ( her bd is before I get back home) into the mail. Oh, I hear the boys heading in from their playing. Lunch dishes have been cleared away: it’s probably time for a snack. TTYL.

joyfulnana , I'm anxious to see your next sketch. I loved your first one! I just realized that although I did that one and posted it, I forgot to post it in the #3 Sketch thread. I'll do that. A picnic in the park sounds like fun. I love to see Alex run and slide and swing and jump around. It also tires him out! Glad you had a great time. Happy scrapping. We have road closures all over too. We had to take 3 detours to get to one of our Recovery meetings and it's just across town. justjac , your trip sounds wonderful. I didn't know there was a Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival. That sounds so wonderful. I miss the big conventions of past years. It sounds like you got some great items. Best wishes being back in school. I hope you have great students this year. Linda , I would be irritated too if I had to throw away a box of scrappy supplies because of a cat. Silly cat! Your trip to the museum sounds so interesting. My dad served in WW2 but would never, ever talk about it. He lost most of his best friends. I wish he had been more forthcoming. I have lots of hours of organizing to add to my total this month. I am very computer challenged and I download, or make a file, save it and it's lost forever in my computer. My sweet DD, Emily, came and spent hours with me walking me through my messy files. Somehow it all straightened out in my head and I think with a bit more help I can straighten out my mess. We spent 5 hours moving things into the right files and she left me with homework to do about a half hour a day of reorganizing. I am getting it done! I can find things! I have never had any computer training or classes. I learned the computer at work and could do that well. I learned to post layouts and could do that well. I just never had a background in how things all tied together. I know Cindy (scrapincin) would be so proud of me!

My dad served in WW2 but would never, ever talk about it. He lost most of his best friends. I wish he had been more forthcoming. My Dad served in WW2 AND Korea (enlisted in 1943, retired in 1980 - and died in 1989 when I was only 19) - he didn't talk about the wars either. What little I know about his service I've pieced together from military records. I do know he went over on D-day (Sword beach - he was British Army) and that he lost his eyesight in the V2 rocket attack on the Rex Cinema in Antwerp and had a corneal transplant that returned his vision and that he nearly died from hemmorrhagic fever in Korea and his recovery made it into a US Army training film (apparently he was the first to recover after falling into a coma? I guess at that time once patients became comatose, death was inevitable? the details are somewhat vague) nylene - yay for your daughter helping you. Computer stuff does seem to come easier to those who grew up with them. grammadee - what a fun busy time with the grand-sons - I bet you're treasuring every moment!

grammadee, and everyone else, did you see that our Turtles are all missing. I didn't know TinyPic was closing. I have found the one that is jumping and a couple of other cute ones but I have no idea how to download or where to host them. I do have the web address of where I found them if anyone has ideas. I almost cried when I saw them gone. I always think of Cindy (scrapincin)when I see them.

nylene I'm so glad you enjoyed that sketch! I did too and my next one is up. That's so sweet of Em to come help you and LOL at the homework! I have been my mom's IT help desk since she got her first computer lol. She's gotten a lot better through the years. I don't have any formal training either, just what I learn through work which is enough to get me by I think lol. But my files are always a mess lol. Oh linda that's horrible! Your poor letter stickers! I'm not sure how I would handle something like that, but I'm pretty sure I would be furious. I hate losing supplies to spills, or damage of any kind. justjac your weekend sounds like it was blast! I'm not sure I could have shown much restraint at at scrapbook carnival! What an awesome time though! I'm sorry all the badges are gone. Did everyone lose their pea badges from the old board too? That just sucks. kellyr21 it's been super hot here too. Hot enough I've been keeping the blinds closed and I seldom do that! I'm jealous of being near a beach. You and LisaDV with the beaches and nylene has the mountains, and I'm in the flatlands lol. I finally have all my sketch samples done and I'm moving on to the rest of what's been posted so far. Pairing them up for a crop Saturday. I hope to get at least two of them done. Need to get some points on the board. For something besides just hosting lol. LisaDV are you surviving back to school? grammadee sounds like you are having an awesome time with the grands! My little guy didn't want his picture taken (reminds me of my kids when I started scrapbooking lol!) but I managed a few anyway He was super tired and in need of a nap badly by the time we all left. He's going to be 5 next week and I can't believe how fast the time goes! I hope everyone is having a wonderful evening!
