LisaDV - glad that you're feeling better but sorry that you didn't get scrapping time @elaynef - hope you feel better soon also nylene - how exciting - wwould have loved to have gone to that sale - such fun! Congrats to your DD on her win! waving Hi to kellyr21 and the other pokies! I've been scrapbooking today in between watching an episode of House, M.D. with DD, having tea and brownies with an Uno game on the side with DD, and taking DD to a nearby subdivision to try out her new-to-her skateboard she picked up at the flea market this morning when she went with DH after her horseback riding. I don't know if I'll get caught up on all the sketches but I'm giving it my best

Almost finished scrapping July 2018...just DD12's summer camp pics to go. It's our Anniversary today but we didn't have anything planned - I'll make dinner and I bought a key lime pie for dessert (we don't usually have dessert) - 20 years!

Linda, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! 20 years is a great number! I hope you get to do something to celebrate in the next week. Glad you are getting some scrapping done. You have had a busy month. kellyr21, your step 2 is amazing. I love the soft colors. You are so brave to tackle new projects all the time. Beautiful picture so far. I am going to try to catch up on comments and maybe try one more sketch. DH has his monthly eye injections tomorrow morning and then sees the cancer doctor about his eye in the afternoon. We hope this is a final visit for that one. He will eventually have to have the stents in his tear ducts removed, but they may do that tomorrow too. So if I'm going to get some scrapping done, I'd better get started! LOL

Thank you nylene - no celebrations - we never seem to manage them, something expensive always comes up in milestone years - this year it was vet bills and a well repair bill, our 15th was a new fridge, and so on. One year we'll take that honeymoon we never went on. Prayers for your DH tomorrow - I hope all is good news tomorrow.

LOL Linda, we never did anything fun either for the same reason and our anniversary is 5 days before Christmas so we preferred to use the $ for the kids. We only had a few days off from school when we got married so didn't take a honeymoon either. Two years before our 50th our kids sent us to Hawaii. That was such a fun trip. It made up for 48 years of not much celebrating. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes for DH. You are a sweetie!

nylene - my youngest turns 13 on Thursday - I don't think we've even managed to go out to dinner for our anniversary but once since she was born - money goes to her celebration instead. I'm glad that you and your DH had a Hawaiian trip for your 48th - good memories there, I'm sure

Wow! A super busy week at work and I have so much to catch up on with you ladies! linda I'm sorry about your kitty. They truly become family members and it's so hard to lose one grammadee I'm sorry to hear about your trip to the hospital. They give day passes? That's cool, we don't have that option here in the US. Your puppy is adorable!! I've been thinking about a pet now that I'm going to have a truly empty nest, but I'm going to hold off for a bit. kellyr21 4-0! I listened on the radio for a bit and then watched the last 2 minutes. I just hope Mahomes isn't cursed like Marino was. You canvas looks so awesome!! I can't wait to see it finished! LisaDV big hugs to you! You have way too much going on! I hope both your kids start feeling better soon and that you get everything unpacked soon as well. Work has been so busy I haven't had time to scrap much at all the last half of the month. I'm kind of seeing a trend that way. I hope it changes soon!

It's the end of the month already. It seems that the months go faster as I get older. I will close this thread later today and start an October thread.
DH's eye appt was discouraging today. The vision in his GOOD eye was 20/400. He sees very little at any distance with the other eye. How I wish they could do eye transplants and I'd give him one of mine in a heartbeat. The cancer doctor feels good about his recovery, but is concerned about a biopsy they did last week under his eye. If it is cancer they will need to do micro surgery to make sure the eyelid still closes correctly. Too bad we didn't know anything about sunscreen those years that he lived in the sun.
The good part of all of this is that the peripheral vision that he has is close vision so he can still make his wooden pens and do crafty things in his shop. I am so grateful for that and am praying that it will stay good for a long time.
I hope next month is very productive for all you Pokeys. The Cardtober sounds like a lot of fun.

Sorry for being AWOL again -I spent a week whipping my house into shape for my sister and BIL's visit (they were here Sun-Tues) and then we had the visit (so much fun - we went to 4 different local parks to hike and explore) and then yesterday we had to take one of my cats to the vet an he got admitted. This morning we got the call that treatment wasn't working and we needed to come in and say goodbye to our sweet Smokey He was our youngest kitty - only 9 - so this was sudden and unexpected (we have two elderly cats - 16 and 17 - and it wouldn't have been so shocking with one of them) but kidney failure is like that. I'm just sad and numb today. sending super big hugs, we lost our fur baby not too long ago, even if its not a shock, its still shocking. ♥
