Is it possible that they kept the call from Pence too though? They say what should have happened, but with this administration that means nothing. I’m fully willing to believe Pence is well aware of everything going on. I’m just as willing to believe proper protocols have not been followed to keep him in the dark because they know what Trump is doing is wrong. Fair enough. The truth will come out sooner or later. I just find it inconceivable that Pence would not be aware of the true agenda for the following reasons: (1) Before he even left for Poland, Giuliani was already boasting about his investigations re Biden’s son in Ukraine to several media outlets; (2) He is one of Trump’s most ardent defenders, but it stretches credulity to think he does not know of Trump’s documented track record of using the levers of government, intelligence and justice for his personal benefit; since when was Trump concerned about another country’s corruption when he himself is the Grand Poobah of Perfidy; (3) When a reporter asked Pence if his trip had anything to do with allegations against Biden, he answered it was about corruption in general. If he didn’t know about the true agenda at that time, why didn’t he say, “I don’t know why you’re asking me about Biden. What does he have to do with my trip?” or something like that. My tendency is to suspect he knew well and good that his assignment was to deliver an extortion demand under the guise of foreign policy. If I’m proven wrong, I will retract everything I said here and apologize. Oh I fully believe he is aware of Trump’s lack of ethics and methods to hide them, I was just wondering if in this particular case he was the stooge being taken advantage of. But your point #3 changes that, I missed his being asked that question. You’re right he would have been confused had he not been in on it.

I probably should practice more caution in my accusations, but I’ve been worn down by this presidency that I can no longer give anyone in this admin the benefit of the doubt on anything. Trump’s tenure has been nothing but a tsunami of scandals and law-breaking by him and his cabal of toadies and cronies, an almost-daily depiction of moral hazard, a middle finger to the American people at every turn. Personally speaking, it has gotten to the point where if he so much as breathes, my instinct is that he’s up to no good. Unfair, perhaps, but I’m not gonna lie. That’s exactly how I feel.

On taxes/IRS........... On the one hand, the IRS said, auditing poor taxpayers is a lot easier: The agency uses relatively low-level employees to audit returns for low-income taxpayers who claim the earned income tax credit. The audits — of which there were about 380,000 last year, accounting for 39% of the total the IRS conducted — are done by mail and don’t take too much staff time, either. They are “the most efficient use of available IRS examination resources,” Rettig’s report says. On the other hand, auditing the rich is hard. It takes senior auditors hours upon hours to complete an exam. What’s more, the letter says, “the rate of attrition is significantly higher among these more experienced examiners.” As a result, the budget cuts have hit this part of the IRS particularly hard. ** www.propublica.org/article/irs-sorry-but-its-just-easier-and-cheaper-to-audit-the-poor?utm_content=buffera0cb0&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=buffer&fbclid=IwAR3RHszmAaw0fidT2rFFZQB1vjYwx8J4llSXLdd-NcO9FDM-8wTAXJ4D05g#168476What happened to closing all the loopholes and making taxes simple for everyone?!?!?! OMG, does he think he's doing a stand-up act? maybe that he's Milton Berle or Jackie Mason, or someone like that? What a pathetic excuse for a human being- I really can't fathom the way the rest of the world sees us as a country, with him as the President. I am actually embarrassed to be an American citizen sometimes.

Here is another email from trump from today. This is not completely out of character for the type of emails he sends regularly, but the nastiness seems to be ramping up.
Trump Pence Keep America Great
Kristin,
Adam Schiff should be forced to resign from Congress. He has repeatedly fabricated stories about me and my Administration for over TWO YEARS to the American People.
FIRST, he LIED to the American People about the Russian Collusion Delusion, and NOW, he is conspiring with the totally biased “whistleblower” about my perfect conversation with the Ukrainian President. It’s a total scam!
Why isn’t he being brought up on charges for fraudulently making up a statement and reading it to Congress as if this statement, which was very dishonest and bad for me, was directly made by the President of the United States? This should never be allowed - he is truly a sick man!
Liddle’ (take note CNN) Adam Schiff has ZERO credibility and he must be held accountable for lying to the American People! Our Nation deserves better, and I want to send a message to the pathetic Do Nothing Party that we will no longer stand for this.
I am officially calling for him to immediately resign from Congress based on this fraud, and I need you on my side.
Please add your name NOW to DEMAND that Adam Schiff RESIGN and stop lying to the American People. >>

Please confirm your information below: Kristin

Just sharing that my DH walked away...From the Republican party! His new Democrat voter card arrived in the mail today. Huzzah Huzzah huzzah! Yay, welcome to the club!!! There will be refresher courses every few months because sometimes they may read old sources or automatically defend the GOP without thinking it through so a quick refresh is needed. We can all go for dinner while they’re in class. First round is on me. Seriously though, I know the feeling and am happy for you. When DH voted for Beto (and others) last fall it was a monumentous occasion.

Speaking of phone calls............ President Trump mentioned Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on a June call with China's president Xi Jinping, CNN reported Thursday, citing two people familiar. Trump reportedly told Xi during the conversation that he would stay quiet about protests in Hong Kong while the U.S. and China pursued trade negotiations. The record of the call was stored in a secure electronic system where his call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was also kept, CNN reported. Trump on Thursday publicly encouraged China to look into Biden. ** thehill.com/homenews/administration/464315-trump-mentioned-biden-warren-in-june-call-with-chinese-presidentSeems people in the WH are talking!! IRS whistleblower said Treasury official might have tried to interfere with Trump audit: reportBY NAOMI JAGODA - 10/03/19 05:19 PM EDTAn IRS official filed a complaint alleging that he was told that at least one Treasury Department official tried to interfere with an audit of President Trump's or Vice President Pence's tax returns, according to The Washington Post, citing people familiar with the complaint.
The whistleblower spoke to the Post and confirmed that he had filed the complaint to Congress's tax-writing committees and the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. “I steadfastly refuse to discuss the substance or details of the complaint, but I have some legitimate concerns about reckless statements being made about whistleblowers,” he told the Post. The Democratic-led House Ways and Means Committee first mentioned in court documents in August that it had received credible allegations from a federal employee of potentially inappropriate attempts to influence the IRS's mandatory audit program for presidential and vice presidential tax returns. The Post's story provides details that had not been in court documents, including that the complaint was made by a career IRS employee and that it alleges potential interference in the audit program by a political employee at the Treasury Department. The Ways and Means Committee has filed a lawsuit in an effort to obtain six years of Trump's federal tax returns, and has said it wants these documents because it's conducting oversight and is interested in legislative proposals concerning how the IRS audits presidents. The IRS's internal policies require mandatory audits of the president and vice president's tax returns, but this policy isn't codified into law.**MORE at link: thehill.com/policy/finance/464297-irs-whistleblower-said-treasury-official-might-have-tried-to-interfere-withMnuchin? or the guy above, both appointed by dt!

History of firing Ukraine prosecutor ......... Biden et al... Keep in mind the name Sen Ron Johnson!! Republican senators echoed Biden in urging Ukrainian president to reform prosecutor general's officeBy Andrew Kaczynski and Em Steck, CNN Updated 2:40 PM ET, Thu October 3, 2019 (CNN)A newly unearthed letter from 2016 shows that Republican senators pushed for reforms to Ukraine's prosecutor general's office and judiciary, echoing calls then-Vice President Joe Biden made at the time. CNN's KFile found a February 2016 bipartisan letter signed by several Republican senators that urged then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to "press ahead with urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General's office and judiciary." The letter shows that addressing corruption in Ukraine's Prosecutor General's office had bipartisan support in the US and further undercuts a baseless attack made by President Donald Trump and his allies that Biden pressured the Ukrainian government to fire then Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin to stop investigations into a Ukrainian natural gas company that his son, Hunter Biden, sat on the board of. There is no evidence of wrongdoing by either Joe or Hunter Biden, nor is it clear whether Hunter was under investigation at all.Trump called the 2016 dismissal of the Ukrainian prosecutor "unfair" in his July 25 call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying, "A lot of people are talking about that, the way they shut your very good prosecutor down and you had some very bad people involved," according to the rough transcript of the phone call. The 2016 letter, sent by members of the Senate Ukraine Caucus, was signed by Republican Sens. Rob Portman, Mark Kirk and Ron Johnson, as well as Democratic Sens. Dick Durbin, Jeanne Shaheen, Chris Murphy, Sherrod Brown, and Richard Blumenthal and focused on longstanding issues of corruption in Ukraine and urged reforms of the government."Succeeding in these reforms will show Russian President Vladimir Putin that an independent, transparent and democratic Ukraine can and will succeed," the letter reads. "It also offers a stark alternative to the authoritarianism and oligarchic cronyism prevalent in Russia. As such, we respectfully ask that you address the serious concerns raised by Minister Abromavičius. We similarly urge you to press ahead with urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General's Office and judiciary. The unanimous adoption by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Basic Principles and Action Plan is a good step." Kirk is no longer in Congress. But Johnson signed onto a letter with Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley last week to Attorney General Bill Barr asking him to investigate, in part, allegations surrounding Biden and Ukraine. Johnson's office did not respond to a request for comment. Portman's office did not comment. Ukraine's legislature voted to fire Shokin in March 2016, a month after the letter was sent. GOP senator says he doesn't remember signing 2016 letter urging 'reform' of Ukraine prosecutor's officeBY ZACK BUDRYK - 10/03/19 06:00 PM EDT Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) told reporters Thursday he did not recall signing a letter urging reforms in the office of the Ukrainian prosecutor President Trump has alleged former Vice President Joe Biden improperly had ousted, The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported.Trump has repeatedly alleged Biden used his office to have Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin fired and prevent him from investigating a gas company whose board included Biden’s son Hunter. CNN on Thursday reported that three Republican senators, including Johnson, Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and then-Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) signed a 2016 letter urging “urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General’s office and Judiciary.” "I send out all kinds of oversight letters ... I don't know which 2016 oversight letter you're referring to so I will look at that and then we'll issue a press release, statement, or something — but I don't engage in hypocrisy. I'm looking at getting the truth,” Johnson said when asked about the letter. Johnson did acknowledged the letter in an interview Thursday on WIBA, saying "The whole world, by the way, including the Ukranian caucus, which I signed the letter, the whole world felt that this that Sholkin wasn't doing a [good] enough job. So we were saying hey you've ... got to rid yourself of corruption."In the first interview, Johnson also said there was no misconduct in Trump’s call on Thursday for China to investigate Biden and his son. "If there's potential criminal activity, the President of the United States is our chief law enforcement officer. We have proper agreements with countries to investigate potential crimes so I don't think there's anything improper about doing that,” he said. Even as he endorsed investigations by both China and Ukrainian officials, Johnson denied the July 25 call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the heart of a whistleblower complaint represented Trump pressuring Zelensky to investigate the Bidens. "I look at that transcript and I go, it's Trump being Trump," Johnson said, according to the Journal-Sentinel. thehill.com/homenews/senate/464302-gop-senator-says-he-doesnt-remember-signing-2016-letter-urging-reform-ofSo he agreed with/was part of the decision in 2016 and now he thinks Biden's actions are questionable?

So much for Pence not knowing about the call.............. He did!! (CNN)Vice President Mike Pence was told about the July 25 call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the day after the call, according to two sources familiar with the matter. However, the sources would not say whether in that conversation the vice president was told what Trump said about the Bidens. A third source says the vice president was not briefed on Biden, but did say information about the call was made available to him. The three sources familiar confirm Pence was provided a transcript of Trump's call with Zelensky in his briefing book the day after the call."He may or may have not read it," one source said. But the source said Pence did not raise the Biden allegations with Zelensky during their meeting. ** www.cnn.com/2019/10/03/politics/mike-pence-ukraine-call/index.html

Another Cabinet Sec going, going, almost gone............. Energy Secretary Rick Perry expected to resign next month: report BY JOHN BOWDEN - 10/03/19 08:12 PM EDT Energy Secretary Rick Perry is expected to announce his resignation next month, Politico reported Thursday night. Three sources close to Perry told the newspaper that the Energy secretary was planning an announcement in November. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill. The report of Perry's expected resignation comes days after the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee sent questions to Perry related to his travel to Ukraine amid scrutiny of the Trump administration's dealings with the country. The Energy secretary traveled to Ukraine in May for the inauguration of the country's new president, Volodymyr Zelesnky, whose contacts with President Trump are now at the center of House Democrats' impeachment inquiry. Sources close to Perry claimed to Politico that his resignation would be unrelated to scrutiny over Trump's dealings with Ukraine. ** thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/464326-energy-secretary-rick-perry-expected-to-resign-next-month-report

People need to get beyond 1 touchstone issue & see which candidate will benefit them the most in a well rounded way. Unless your the %2 then getting legislation that benefits you from the National Republican Party is going to be difficult The party of ‘states rights’ & individual freedom has morphed & has become the party of a strong federal government. They are facilitating big corporations walking all over state laws & individual rights. And when they increase your taxes they still somehow decrease benefits because they increased your taxes to give the multi billion dollar corporations a break. They raised the deficit ( which WILL raise your taxes because the individual tax change has an expiration date where as the corporate tax break does not ! ) yet they are feeding less school children, providing less health care, cutting SS that you’ve paid into your whole life all for what? To stuff the pockets of already rich billionaires? Just go look at the new tax code. The fact that the individual tax break has an expiration date but the corporate tax breaks do not should be all you need to know to determine whose side they are on.
