Kyle Griffin.. ”Impeachment investigators have negotiated in recent days with a lawyer for former national security adviser John Bolton about a date for him to be deposed behind closed doors, according to two people briefed on the matter.” This could get even more interesting real fast if Bolton is deposed. Oh, yes, please!! The other day someone commented, how strange it would be to think of Bolton as the hero, which he could well be after this mess!

Why is there so often some form of Christian proselytizing behind people like Drake - and yet he's Jonesing for a civil war? Good christian values, inciting violence!

Wow. Quick, check the temperature in Hell. I agree with Boehner. Who would have thought. The past few years have been full of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" moments. Nodding along with Joe Walsh on Twitter still feels very wrong.

linkSo Rand Paul wrote an opinion piece about quid pro quo in Breitbart. From Newsweek “Paul argued a different defense in the piece: all foreign policy is quid pro quo. "Democrats want people to be alarmed by a Latin phrase, but, really, making foreign aid contingent on behavior is actually the defining reason that countries supposedly give aid—to influence the behavior of the receiving country," Paul wrote.” When I read stuff like this I can’t decide if this guy really is that stupid or he thinks the people who will read this garbage is that stupid. I suspect the latter. He is right in that there is a lot of quid pro quo in foreign policy especially when it comes to aid. But it’s usually use to make things better for the people in a country like in human rights. It is meant to benefit others who are in need. It is not meant to be used by a sitting president to dig up dirt or manufacture dirt on his political opponents just before his re-election. The only person this type of quid pro quo benefits is the president.

This from Rand Paul..
”Democrats want people to be alarmed by a Latin phrase, but, really, making foreign aid contingent on behavior is actually the defining reason that countries supposedly give aid — to influence the behavior of the receiving country.”
Prompted this reply from Bradly P. Moss...
”I look forward to Senator Paul defending the right of a Democratic President to condition foreign aid on another country launching numerous law enforcement investigations into a wide range of Republican lawmakers. I am sure he will find that appropriate.”

A federal judge issued a $100,000 fine on the Department of Education Thursday after finding Secretary Betsy DeVos violated a preliminary injunction when the department continued to collect loan payments from Corinthian Colleges students, The Washington Post reported. “There is no question that the defendants violated the preliminary injunction. There is also no question that [the] defendants’ violations harmed individual borrowers,” Magistrate Judge Sallie Kim of the U.S. District Court in San Francisco wrote in her ruling Thursday, according to the Post. “Defendants have not provided evidence that they were unable to comply with the preliminary injunction, and the evidence shows only minimal efforts to comply.” thehill.com/homenews/administration/467398-devos-earns-education-dept-100000-fineTrouble is that we are paying the fine! Jail for her would have been better!

Oops, Bobby Rankin missed Mitch!! A pallbearer at Rep. Elijah Cummings's (D-Md.) memorial on Thursday shook hands with all top congressional leaders except Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). Video captured the pallbearer, who has been identified in reports as Bobby Rankin, skipping McConnell while greeting a line of other senior lawmakers that included both Republicans and Democrats. Cummings was a fierce opponent at times of President Trump and Republican policies, but it is not clear what prompted the moment. Rankin has not spoken about it. ** thehill.com/homenews/news/467426-cummings-pallbearer-skips-mcconnell-handshake-at-memorialI saw that, but thought at first he was just hurrying along, but guessing not now!

”NEWS: House impeachment investigators have subpoenaed OMB chief Russ Vought, OMB national security chief Michael Duffey, & State Dept counselor T. Ulrich Brechbuhl. The subpoenas seek deposition testimony.
Vought/Duffey had refused to appear for scheduled depositions this week.”
”Schiff et al: “Your failure or refusal to appear at the deposition, including at the direction or behest of the President or the White House, shall constitute evidence of obstruction of the House’s impeachment inquiry and may be used as an adverse inference against the President”

It is not meant to be used by a sitting president to dig up dirt or manufacture dirt on his political opponents just before his re-election. The only person this type of quid pro quo benefits is the president. He’s being intellectually dishonest. He damn well knows there is a difference when using it for personal political gains. People who read and believe this garbage are that stupid, or at least ignorant, in that they don’t check their sources and take what is said at face value from this administration and party...even after all the lies and purposefully misleading statements they have been proven to make. I say this, and it applied to my husband about sources until the last year or so. Just last night we were researching some crap he was lead to believe from his garbage sources over the years. Once again, what he was lead to believe was not at all accurate. My husband is very intelligent, but he was ignorant in trusting his sources without ever checking into their accuracy, truthfulness, etc. To that end, so was I when I believed what he told me over the years without checking his sources. The difference is, these past couple of years the lack of truthfulness from this president, administration, party, and sources attached to their rectums has been front and center in the news and conversations so there is less of an excuse. I can see how some fairly unsophisticated (not an insult) people with very limited social circles, in small areas, where absolutely everyone believes the same thing might not be exposed to the fact that this is happening. And personally I imagine a lot of these same people are Trump supporters or, at the very least, always vote Republican without giving the matter any thought.

He doesn't care about the truth, he just wants to *get* us!!!" (I mean, it IS obstruction, but the lowest common denominator Trumpsters doesn't care about the TRUTH... if they did, they'd already have dropped the man like a hot potato.)

The Department of Justice (DOJ) must hand over to Congress certain redacted information from Robert Mueller's special counsel report, a federal judge ruled Friday in a major win for House Democrats investigating President Trump. The judge ruled that House Democrats on the Judiciary Committee had proven that they have a justifiable reason for obtaining the records related to Mueller's grand jury now that they're pursuing an impeachment inquiry into the president."In carrying out the weighty constitutional duty of determining whether impeachment of the President is warranted, Congress need not redo the nearly two years of effort spent on the Special Counsel’s investigation, nor risk being misled by witnesses, who may have provided information to the grand jury and the Special Counsel that varies from what they tell [the House Judiciary Committee]," District Court Judge Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee, wrote in her decision. The order directs DOJ to turn over all information that was redacted from the Mueller report in order to protect grand jury secrecy. That includes more than 240 redactions from the first volume of the report alone. ** More at link: thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/467506-judge-orders-doj-to-release-grand-jury-material-from-mueller-report

Say what?!?!?!? Giuliani accidentally calls reporter, leaves voicemail about needing 'a few hundred thousand' dollarsBY RACHEL FRAZIN - 10/25/19 04:06 PM EDT President Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani appeared to accidentally call an NBC News reporter and leave a voicemail in which he can be heard discussing money, NBC reported Friday. The call came in after 11 p.m. on Oct. 16 and Giuliani appeared to be speaking with someone else in the same room, according to the news outlet, which published a portion of the audio. The former New York City mayor discussed the kingdom of Bahrain and someone named Robert, according to NBC. “You know, Charles would have a hard time with a fraud case ‘cause he didn’t do any due diligence," Giuliani said. It was not clear who Charles is, NBC reported. "Let's get back to business," he reportedly continued. "I gotta get you to get on Bahrain." Giuliani is then heard saying he has “got to call Robert again tomorrow.” "Is Robert around?” Giuliani asked. “He’s in Turkey,” responded the other man in the room. “The problem is we need some money,” Giuliani said, adding after several seconds of silence, “we need a few hundred thousand.”"Robert" may be Robert Mangas, a registered agent of Turkey's government and co-shareholder of the law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, which Giuliani worked for until May 2018, NBC reported. NBC also noted Giuliani's connections in Bahrain, including a meeting last December with King Hamad Bin Isa al-Khalifa. This isn't the first time Giuliani has accidentally called an NBC reporter; last month he left another voicemail in which he insisted he was the target of attacks because he was making public accusations about former vice president Joe Biden, NBC reported. thehill.com/policy/international/467507-giuliani-accidentally-leaves-voice-message-about-money-for-reporter

Giuliani spends all his time texting and calling reporters. Apparently, there is a game that's been going around with reporters in DC for months -- posting their crazy text conversations and butt dials from him. ETA There are a number of reporters assigned to cover Giuliani, so it's not really surprising that he would have their numbers in his phone.

Yes, the article I read mentioned that the reporter had spoken with Giuliani earlier that day for a story he was writing.
