NPR & others. I guess in her forthcoming book, Nikki Haley is saying that John Kelly and Rex Tillerson asked her help to “save the country “ from trump. The fact that she didn’t and the current trump driven mess this country is in now, I would say we would have to question her judgement in any future general elections she may decide to enter.
To me it's obvious Nikki Haley has further political ambitions. I'm not so sure history or the American people will look so kindly on former Trump supporters especially those in positions of leadership under this administration.

linkThe new Q poll is out for New Hampshire. Two items I found interesting 1. 54% said they definitely will not vote for a Bloomberg. 2. Under leadership skills and who has them. 24% Buttigieg 19% Warren 14% Gabbard 10% Biden 8%. Sanders

My question, since she said Kelly and Tillerson should have reported their thoughts or left, did she report what they said to her boss, as she should have? If she thought it was so wrong she should have taken action, did she? (ETA: farther down thread, I posted that she says she did tell dt!)

A poem from Bette Midler. ”Linseedy Gram calls women “Ma’am” That Southern shit is such a sham For you, he doesn’t give a damn. And what a Diva! What a ham! O, Lord, forgive this little slam He desecrates my uncle, Sam.” Well done!!

dt only hires the best!! Granted 2015 tweet. She has other issues... Monica Crowley, President-Elect Donald J. Trump’s pick for a top National Security Council job, plagiarized numerous passages in her Ph.D. dissertation, Politico Magazine has found. An examination of the dissertation and the sources it cites identified more than a dozen sections of text that have been lifted, with little to no changes, from other scholarly works without proper attribution. In some instances, Crowley footnoted her source but did not identify with quotation marks the text she was copying directly. In other instances, she copied text or heavily paraphrased with no attribution at all. This finding comes on the heels of CNN’s Saturday report that Crowley, the conservative author and commentator whom Trump tapped as senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council, plagiarized more than 50 passages in her 2012 book What the (Bleep) Just Happened, copying directly from conservative columns, news articles, Wikipedia and in one case a podiatrist’s website. ** Much more at link: www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/01/monica-crowley-plagiarism-phd-dissertation-columbia-214612Job US Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Public Affairs.

trump gave a Veteran’s Day speech this morning in New York City.
A video snippet of the speech popped up on twitter. trump is saying “if you shoot me, you will have to shoot us all” he then backs a way from the microphone and says quietly “something”.
I tracked down the full video and he was quoting a US Captain in a prison camp during WWII and the soldier was telling this to a German Officer who had a gun to his head. And trump, apparently, forgot the rest of the quote....
Aaron Rupar, is posting snippets of the speech on twitter and besides trump forgetting the rest of the quote, he is having a harder time than usual in pronouncing words.
They either they have him on something or maybe he is showing signs of dementia.

ETA: I had to look it up-- apparently it was a list of 'pork barrel spending' projects... why it was on a podiatrist's website in the first place, I have no idea... but that's what she took from that website for her book. They either they have him on something or maybe he is showing signs of dementia. I refuse to seek him out on video, but I have heard / seen enough that I think he's on something a LOT of the time when he's out in public. Or he's *not* on something- either way... if he does Adderall to get amped up before his rallies (which I wouldn't doubt), then maybe he doesn't do it before his *regular* appearances.

I don’t say that as a medical professional, just as the daughter, caregiver of some someone who had dementia ( my aunt as well ) but after dealing with my mother it’s crystal clear to me that he’s got dementia or some other similar incapacitating brain issue. The speech today does not display any new symptoms

Is anyone else really disturbed by the POTUS' personal attorney (Guiliani) basically "directing" foreign policy with Ukraine? A man who is I am quite sure not gone through the necessary security clearance? I don't see a link to it, but they are talking about it on CNN.
How exactly is any of this "fighting corruption?" How does anyone not see that this whole shitshow is the epitome of corruption?

A man who is I am quite sure not gone through the necessary security clearance? I don't see a link to it, but they are talking about it on CNN. he is making a mess! Giuliani has met or communicated with senior government officials from at least seven foreign countries since he became Trump's pro-bono personal lawyer in April 2018, according to a CNN review. He has also given paid speeches on behalf of an Iranian dissident group and met with a politician from the Dominican Republic. While Giuliani has long dealt with foreign governments through the self-titled consulting firm he founded in 2002 after serving as New York's mayor, his more recent status as an attorney for the President has enabled him to interact with foreign leaders outside of official diplomatic channels while being treated like a US emissary."" www.cnn.com/2019/11/11/politics/rudy-giuliani-us-foreign-policy-trump-lawyer/index.htmlTwo current and two former State Department staffers told CNN that Giuliani's communication with foreign leaders has complicated, and at times undercut, official US foreign policy. A current State Department staffer who spoke to CNN said US officials track some of Giuliani's comments because they carry the risk of confusing foreign entities and complicating messaging.

Energy Sec Perry in deeper then thought.............. Nov. 11, 2019, 9:47 AM EST / Updated Nov. 11, 2019, 9:49 AM EST By Associated Press KYIV, Ukraine — Two political supporters of U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry secured a potentially lucrative oil and gas exploration deal from the Ukrainian government soon after Perry proposed one of the men as an adviser to the country's new president.Perry's efforts to influence Ukraine's energy policy came earlier this year, just as President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's new government was seeking military aid from the United States to defend against Russian aggression and allies of President Donald Trump were ramping up efforts to get the Ukrainians to investigate his Democratic rival Joe Biden. Ukraine awarded the contract to Perry's supporters little more than a month after the U.S. energy secretary attended Zelenskiy's May inauguration. In a meeting during that trip, Perry handed the new president a list of people he recommended as energy advisers. One of the four names was his longtime political backer Michael Bleyzer. A week later, Bleyzer and his partner Alex Cranberg submitted a bid to drill for oil and gas at a sprawling government-controlled site called Varvynska. They offered millions of dollars less to the Ukrainian government than their only competitor for the drilling rights, according to internal Ukrainian government documents obtained by The Associated Press. But their newly created joint venture, Ukrainian Energy, was awarded the 50-year contract because a government-appointed commission determined they had greater technical expertise and stronger financial backing, the documents show. ** More at link: www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/after-push-rick-perry-his-backers-got-huge-gas-deal-n1079896

“DACA Eligibility
To be eligible, recipients must be present in the United States unlawfully after being brought in as children[41][42] before their 16th birthday and prior to June 2007, be currently in school, a high school graduate or be honorably discharged from the military, be under the age of 31 as of June 15, 2012, and not have been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor or three other misdemeanors, or otherwise pose a threat to national security. The program does not currently provide permanent lawful status or a path to citizenship,[43] nor does it provide eligibility for federal welfare or student aid.“[6]”
dimwit donnie
“Many of the people in DACA, no longer very young, are far from “angels.” Some are very tough, hardened criminals. President Obama said he had no legal right to sign order, but would anyway. If Supreme Court remedies with overturn, a deal will be made with Dems for them to stay!“
Sometimes when you read the shit he spouts you have to wonder if he is really that dumb or he is convinced his fanatical supporters are that dumb.
Or as Lin-Manuel Miranda pointed out.
“Semiregular reminder this President is a liar. Lies like it’s f***ing nothing.”

IF they are "hardened" criminals they do not qualify! He does not pay attention to things either! He wants immigrants who speak English, are educated, employed, military service. Sure kick them out, he has already kicked out more than a few former military. Who better to be here then DACA 'kids'? They meet HIS qualification for immigrants! Which BTW his German grandfather didn't, besides being a draft dodger in Germany. (Seems to run in the family)

just came across this Time article when I was reading a story about the Netflix documentary referenced in another thread... I had NO IDEA the US had detained SOOOO MANY children-- That number is HORRIFYING!! I am ashamed to think that the majority of officials WE elected actually condone or support such horrific actions... what's that about the US being the 'best country in the world' again?!? not even close. US Held NEARLY 70,000 Migrant Children in Detention in 2019 from the article: "(COMAYAGUA, Honduras) — The 3-year-old girl traveled for weeks cradled in her father’s arms, as he set out to seek asylum in the United States. Now she won’t even look at him. After being forcibly separated at the border by government officials, sexually abused in U.S. foster care and deported, she arrived back in Honduras withdrawn, anxious and angry, convinced her once-beloved father abandoned her. He fears their bond is forever broken. “I think about this trauma staying with her too, because the trauma has remained with me and still hasn’t faded,” he said days after their reunion. This month new government data shows the little girl is one of an unprecedented 69,550 migrant children held in U.S. government custody over the past year, enough to overflow the typical NFL stadium. That’s more kids detained away from their parents than any other country, according to United Nations researchers. And it’s happening even though the U.S. government has recognized detention can be traumatic for children, putting them at risk of long-term physical and emotional damage."

”Emails Connect Trump Officials And GOP Redistricting Expert On Citizenship Question”
Before Thomas Hofeller, the strategist, died last year, he had concluded in an unpublished study from 2015 that adding a citizenship question to census forms would produce the detailed data need to redraw state and local voting districts in a way that would be "advantageous to Republicans and Non-Hispanic Whites."
So instead of redistributing certain districts in various states, the plan was to redistrict the entire United States in the Republicans favor.

Because if we are stuck with him again, she’s better than Pence. I don’t love her, but I can tolerate her. The idea of her becoming president for whatever reason doesn’t scare me as much as a Pence presidency does.
