How horrible and unsettling. Give yourselves a little time to digest it all then you’ll be better able to decide how to move forward. Good luck!

I’m so sorry. That’s just not right. I know life isn’t fair. There should be some unwritten policy that people our of respect should be given notice.

I'm so sorry! As if moving isn't stressful enough, you two HAD to move just for his job---ugh! I also know from that other thread that you're dealing with prescription/ doctor stress, so I'm sending up prayers for you and DH, plus (( hugs ))!

This is never good but it's even worse when it happens this time of year with the holidays fast upon us. I hope he finds a new job quickly. Best wishes.

Ugh! Unfortunately, I know the feeling. Crossing my fingers that he finds something new soon. (Just a reminder to apply for unemployment asap.)

As @gar said, unsettling. That is the perfect word for it. Good luck.

My DH was laid off after 26 years, 3 years shy of retirement. He found a new job easily, but we are definatly finding a new normal. Sending good vibes for an easy transition for you guys. {HUGS}

I’m sorry. I’ll never forget the gut punch when my husband was laid off unexpectedly after being at his company for years. Try to breathe. Take things one step at a time and don’t panic. Easier said than done, I know. I hope he finds something even better quickly. This. Stop, breathe, calm down for a day or so, look at your financials, file for unemployment. Don’t do anything rash. Check into cashing out pto, that money is his, don’t leave it behind. How long will the company carry his insurance, or will they help cover cobra. Take a brief time to lick your wounds and then your full-time job will be looking for work. Network. Call friends and acquaintances from former employers to touch base. Google, Indeed, Glass Door, Monster. You never know when something serendipitous will happen. This happened to us a year ago and it hurts, but we made it and so will you all. Best of luck!
