My sympathies to you. I’ve been there at one time in my past and it all worked out in a better job but in the short term, it was tough.

I'm so very sorry. That really sucks since the holidays are coming. While I believe these things happen for the better, it doesn't do much to quell your fears right now

I hope he finds something that’s good for all of you.
2 years ago my dh lost his job out of the blue. Coincidentally the company was in Cincinnati.

Sanibel, just wondering how your DH is doing with his recent knee surgery? Is he back to 90-100%? Sending more hugs, prayers, and positive thoughts your way.

I’m glad you signed up for the card exchange. I was hoping you did because I wanted to be able to send you some holiday spirit this year. Even if you back out, you’re on my list. ::HUGS!::

This. Stop, breathe, calm down for a day or so, look at your financials, file for unemployment. Don’t do anything rash. Check into cashing out pto, that money is his, don’t leave it behind. How long will the company carry his insurance, or will they help cover cobra. Take a brief time to lick your wounds and then your full-time job will be looking for work. Network. Call friends and acquaintances from former employers to touch base. Google, Indeed, Glass Door, Monster. You never know when something serendipitous will happen. This happened to us a year ago and it hurts, but we made it and so will you all. Best of luck! Be careful with insurance. My DH had the same thing happen to him - let go out of the blue. It has been 9 years and I am still bitter about it. Anyway, our insurance ended the day he was let go. So my advice is before you run up any bills, make sure they will be paid/covered. It hurts. Especially in his case when we thought the owner and his wife were friends. In the long run though, my husband is a much happier person and his replacement job is much less stressful. Hugs and hopefully he will land a new position.

I share your shock. It is so very difficult when one does not see a disaster coming. I hope it results in a much better job and location for both of you.

Ahh that’s crappy news and right before holidays. Happened to my dh long ago and we almost sold house and moved back to original province but we stuck it out and he found a great job and moved up in ranks fast in the last 9 years so hopefully this crappy situation will turn around a be a great new chapter. (Positive thoughts) ☺️

Your update sounds good. Things are happening! I’m not in the Christmas card exchange anymore (only because I can’t be trusted to actually mail out my cards) but if you PM me your mailing address, I’d be happy to send you one, no strings attached. I can manage one. ha ha

I am still going to send you a card😁You are on my list! No card in return, just smile when you get and that will be enough for me! Let’s hope the future gets brighter quicker, and things work out well for you and your family.
