There are recipes online for ph-balanced water with electrolytes. I currently am having a hard time drinking regular water, but the waters like Smart Water and LifeWtr are smoother and easier for me... but expensive! Just thought I'd see if anyone has made their own, what recipe you used, where you got the ingredients, and if it really is as good.

That sounds too much like chemistry for me to want to mess around with. Do smart water and life water have flavors in addition to their pH balancing? If it's just a taste thing, I really like hint water. It's flavored, but NO SWEETENERS. Such a relief because most of those flavored waters have sucralose, which I just can't tolerate. It isn't cheap, although with shipping it works out to just over $2 a bottle, and sometimes I can find single bottles in my grocery store for about $1.50.

I use a recipe that is:
2 L H2O 1 t shredded ginger root 1 sliced cucumber 1 sliced lemon handful of fresh mint leaves
Steep overnight, strain and drink all day. I don't find it too expensive to make, and it's a refreshing, light taste.

You can buy all different brands of water gadgets that will change the ph of water for home use. I checked out Kangen water, until I realized it was a pyramid scheme ( the water IS changed to various PH levels, but many other brands do the same thing for thousands less!)

If you're looking for something easy that has balanced electrolytes, I recommend SOS - comes in sachets and you just mix according to the concentration you want. This is what my running group uses because it has more electrolytes and less sugar than most sport drinks. Citrus is my favourite flavour. link

Do I muddle the mint? Yes -- well, kinda. I wad them up in my hand and roll them a bit.

Not really looking for something flavored, like mint or lemon (no matter how light.) Just ph-balanced water. Just like Smartwater.
