I wonder how this will work for the Verizon customers? We get Disney+ free from Verizon. Dd is also on our cell plan but is in college. We are in same boat and I believe with Verizon, I don't think that even if multiple accounts have the plan with Disney+ means that can have multiple accounts with disney+.

I know in your op you said, "Is it legal for an employee to have taken photos" But I wanted to ask, did HE take the photos? I'm not sure it matters legally, but I guess I wanted to clarify. Also, if he did take the photos, is it of something available to the public? Like, did he take a picture of a building on a street? Again, not sure if it matters, but just asking. Thank you for clarifying and I hope things go your way! Quick before I run out the door. Yes these are photos he had taken. However, in order for the photos to have been taken, it would have been trespassing for anyone who did not have permission to be there. Not something he could shoot from the sidewalk. The issue I am starting to have, it that he is tying his name into these projects. And in doing so he is projecting the assumption to potential clients, that he/his business was solely responsible for the work. If there was a tag somewhere saying "project I helped with" or "example of how I mitered these corners together" I would probably not mind as much.

Interesting discussion to wake up to! Have to get up and run, but I’ll try to hit some of the points
Best way I can describe at this time is he was just an employee, working off of our license and insurance. For example, a project might be a shed, where the company did all the leg work. Working with the customer, design, permits to build, ordering of materials, and supervision/correction of employee while he helped build it. He might have helped on some jobs, or had closer to 100% of the labor. Photos from said job are now being used as a ‘beginning to end’ job example for his business.
How does this hurt us? And I apologize for the vagueness. This is the small end of a much larger problem that we do not want to have our name/work tied into. This is one reason I am hesitant to give too much detail. We are actually going to tackle from the larger end first but if that fails, then may go this route. Or we might need to attack from both directions including with a cease and desist so if it happens again, we will already have a paper trail.

Thank you for the suggestions!

If you (or your employer) are responsible for the work he is claiming as his own I would send a letter by registered mail informing him that you (your company) take credit for the projects he is using in his advertising. I would inform him that you would like the material taken down immediately and that he is not to use that work claiming it as his own. Take screen shots of the projects in question. Keep a copy of the letter. And see what happens. He may just take it down without you having to go any further than that. He does not have the right to claim the work as his own and I would certainly inform him of that. I like this idea. Upon looking closer, he is claiming credit for at least two projects from beginning to end.

I’d need a lot more information to form an opinion. Can you link the website/advertisement in question? In case others are interested in this, I am not comfortable at this time sharing this.

Is he claiming the items in the photo as his sole work product? Does not appear to be anything stating it was done when he was employed by anyone else that I can see.

I will start by saying that he is no longer employed and wasn't when this started. Is it legal for an employee to have taken photos of work they did while employed and use it to advertise for their own business?
They were only responsible for some of the work, not the planning, design, permitting, or ordering of materials. In fact, one of the projects being shown, he had nothing to do with aside from cleanup.
I have no problem contacting someone official if it is state specific, just figured I'd ask here if case anyone else has dealt with this.
Thank you.

At the food bank I volunteer at, the packages are broken apart and individually handed out so (or repacked to smaller amounts) they can help more people. For our TP we have both unwrapped and wrapped rolls and I have never had someone comment negatively that the roll was unwrapped.
Thank you for donating! Each month, for ours, families can chose something they need, and I feel awful with we are out of what they are choosing.

Favorite concerts over last few years that I would easily go again to: Brett Young, Adam Hambrick (opened for Brett Young and we loved him), Luke Bryan, One Republic, Imagine Dragons, Shinedown, and Green Day.

Not for volunteering, but I use an app called Hours Keeper for work as I'm self employed. You can set up multiple "clients" and there's an option to invoice and send as an email. It works like a time clock where you would clock in and out, but each entry is also editable. This sounds intriguing. I will check it out. Thank you!

DD uses a spreadsheet app. We used a free template in excel when my daughter was volunteering. Would that work for you? These both might just work if she can get it set up on her phone which she should be able to do. Thank you!

Ds' school had forms that had to be filled out and signed by someone at the place he was volunteering. He did a bunch of different things That is basically what needs to be done here. However she will be at one location 1-3 hours a week over 1-2 days over the school year, another 1x month for 3-4 hours and then whatever hours come from Girl Scout projects. Trying to help her come up with a solution to log hours right when she finishes, and then at the semester she has a total to put on her form. The monthly organization will keep track for her. Keeping track on paper didn’t work last year

Thank you. I’ll look at them and I’m going to add this to my first post. Without downloading, some of the apps seemed to be designed for organizations for their volunteers to log for the organizations use. That’s the part I’m finding tricky without having to sign up for a handful of apps.

Does any one have recommendations for an app for a teenager to log volunteer hours. The hours will not be with the same organization each week (3 or 4 different organizations over the school year) but we are looking at a simple way to track so hours can quickly be added up, and transferred to a paper to be signed off on. This will be for keeping track of hours to meet school requirement, not for the organizations.
Open to other suggestions as well, simpler the better, preferably something that is done on phone.
Edit to add: Without downloading, some of the apps seemed to be designed for organizations for their volunteers to log for the organizations use. That’s the part I’m finding tricky without having to sign up for a handful of apps. .
Thank you!

The bummer part of all this is that the schools here only have one “freebie” snow day built into the calendar, which was used on Tuesday for our slight dusting. We already get out so late. We may have school up to the 4th of July! JK...but it will go late. Going to jump in this conversation since we are more PDX than Seattle/eastern WA. I don’t think there are ever enough snow days built in for years like this. My daughter’s district took them all away (all two of them), plus part of spring break/Christmas break due to the strike. We have already had 2 ‘snow days’ so I’m not planning summer break til late June at this point, assuming this storm does what they are predicting.

I love that all of you are as obsessed about the weather as as us Brits are, even if only temporarily 😀 Yeah, it is kind of crazy . I grew up in Utah, and have lived in Colorado, Germany and Sweden. I also spent 13 years in Arizona and Texas, and now three in Washington. I’ve experienced the difference between living in places where two feet of snow is barely a blip to anyone, and places where they just don’t have the resources to deal with even an inch of the slippery stuff on the roads. My own neighborhood here will never get any kind of scraping/salting/sanding. Our limited vehicles and manpower have to focus on the main roads, so I know that if I have to go out anywhere it’s going to be an ice skating rink all the way to a main road/freeway. Stay safe everyone! Yes! I learned to drive in white stuff in Montana (didn’t have the option), continued driving in it in Colorado, but here in Washington, it terrifies me because the roads won’t be taken care of properly AND because of the other drivers who don’t know how to drive in winter weather. Will be interesting to see how this week pans out. We are out for one last outing and small additional food run just in case.

Considering we are still doing way more than before 9/11, I feel safe. Will there be longer waits, some slip ups etc? Sure. But all in all, I think they are still doing a good job considering the circumstances. But what about the inspections of and maintenance of the planes? What about the actual directing of the planes in flight so that there aren’t collisions? Terrorism isn’t a blip on my radar, but failing aircraft are. In these crucial areas that keep those who fly safe in the air, we certainly are not doing more now than we did before 9/11. I am flying with my family in just a few weeks and am praying that the shutdown ends before then, because I really am afraid of flying now. My understanding is mechanics and inspectors are being paid. While it is regulated by the FAA, they are paid by the airlines. Airlines, not the FAA, control day to day operations of planes and employees.

Due to measles issue at my daughter’s school/local area, the five boxes of books will still be in my house for another week or two at minimum. No parents are allowed on campus since we have had an exposure in her campus. In fact due to the uniqueness of the school, they are actually going digital for at least the next week. At least I know those boxes will eventually leave. It’s times like this I miss my minivan because i could have just stored them there.
Spent yesterday sorting through legos. We have totes of them (and then a shelf of new kits waiting to be put together). My daughter is about done with legos (so she says) but my husband and I are not! So he has said he will put up shelves and we need to rebuild the sets that have fallen apart before tackling new sets. I still want to sort the smaller piece from the large to help with our journey.

I saw these threads last year but never participated. I still need to read through this thread but have taken a few loads to goodwill, 6 bags of trash, and have 4-5 boxes of books/curriculum/HS stuff going to my daughter’s school on Tuesday. They will be having a book sale next month to raise money for picnic benches. I have tried selling some of these items on FB and am just tired of it, so donation it is.
Was on a roll at the beginning of the month but then I injuried my foot. Barely being able to walk for a week slowed me down but I’m back at it now.

I just went through this end of 2018. Things that ‘hurt’ my payoff was high mileage for that year. He was shocked that I wasn’t upset about it but as I told him we put the mileage on.
My understanding is the payoff should allow you to go buy the same vehicle that you had prior to it being totaled. In Washington state, the settlement also includes sales tax for settlement amount, as well as pro rated registration fees. While they did ask for receipts for ‘improvements’ we only received 25-30% for the transmission we just put in because they said the vehicle is appraised as a running vehicle.. I did not fight it further because the price was about where we though it would be.

Any chance it also posted to the marketplace? I think the only way to communicate there is through messenger and it’s gives the option for quick responses like ‘is this still available?’
That being said, that does seem like a high number of responses.

Thank you guys so much for the responses. I’ll read through the ones from this morning when I get home.
Feeling sore this morning... surprise surprise... spent an hour on phone with my insurance and ultimately decided to open the claim with them. She did say that there was a chance I will be reimbursed for my deductible. I don’t want added stress of dealing with his insurance and the fact I was pushed into a third vehicle that was pushed into a fourth, was the other reason.
I did laugh/roll my eyes when she asked if the headlight was damaged... that’s the least of the worries (but no). She said it is looking like a total loss (again surprise surprise).
On my way to clean it out before the insurance claims in and then to get a rental car.

Even though I was at a complete stop at a red light when I was hit? Yup. That is why you are to maintain a specific distance between you and the car in front. That drivers insurance will state that too. Happened to a friend. She was the second to last car hit. Her inshrance paid out for the car she "hit" even though she was stopped. Honestly I do get that but am having a hard time finding that distance. Have a newly permitted driver and of course, guess where her rules book currently is... appropriate distance is something I drill into her so am really curious to find out what that legally is. I am never right on someone’s bumper, for this specific reason. Ok scanning the online manual for and it discusses appropriate space when moving but not seeing when stopped.

In Washington? We don’t have that insurance but it is a well known one. I didn’t have the energy to deal with it when I called. I was just trying to figure out where the heck to have the van towed to. We live in Virginia. Honestly, I thought that was what insurance companies did—took care of the car and the other company/lawyers. USAA insurance is for military members and their dependents. It is very highly rated. Over the years, I’ve seen the Peas have more things not covered or high deductibles for things that are included in our monthly payments. I don’t ever see me switching! I never saw a bill and other than the initial call at the time of the accident, never dealt with the auto shop or the other insurance. USAA took care of everything. I’m sorry that you are dealing with this and I’m glad that you are ok. Thank you. I figured that is part of what I was paying for with insurance. Peace of mind if something does happen. Time will tell when I call tomorrow. Want another conversation with them when I am hopefully clearer minded.

What company are you with? Allstate handle the whole accident for me and provided a lawyer. You will be sued by a the driver of the car you hit. If that car hit another car you will be sued by that driver too. You will end up making a claim against the original driver that will cover the other 2 suits. Your insurance lawyer should handle that. We are with safeco/liberty. I get things will trickle down, but am hoping the guy who hit me ends up with most of, if not all of, the liability given how it played out.

Weird information you were given I am in WA too and it’s always been if it isn’t your fault you don’t have to pay a deductible. Jen Thank you! I get the other drivers will trickle down but my understanding is the first vehicle will hold the most liability. I’m not even sure I mentioned the 3rd and 4th car when I called since all I was after was information about towing and then she was telling me my options.

Interesting. DS was sideswiped a few years ago when a girl pulled out in front of him and he swerved to avoid her. She was deemed 100% at fault and we never paid our deductible or a single penny. DS spoke briefly with her insurance agent and that’s it. We have USAA, if that matters. In Washington? We don’t have that insurance but it is a well known one. I didn’t have the energy to deal with it when I called. I was just trying to figure out where the heck to have the van towed to.

Glad you are ok. That seems weird to me, although I don't have any experience in Washington. Normally you aren't responsible for the deductible if you aren't at fault in my experience. The other thing that seems odd to me is that they want you to personally go after the other driver, normally we call our insurance company and they deal with the other insurance company/driver. Thank you. Going to make some more calls in the morning.
