You're right! The people you're posting about have provided no evidence for their claims, but we have ample evidence right on this thread that you're a liar. I posted what people were saying their experience has been. That doesn't make me a liar. And you aren't the authority over their experience. And I posted a quote about what Merge’s experience regarding you has been. The depths of your hypocrisy knows no bounds. It really stinks when someone turns around and does to you EXACTLY what you do to others, doesn't it? Maybe you should stop and reflect on that.

Do I need to re-post the video of Donald Trump getting off Air Force One, carefully walking around the car that was waiting for him at the foot of the steps, and wandering off alone into the dark? The Secret Service agent had to go retrieve him. How about the Revolutionary War airports? The time he started talking about “his” black guy at a rally? Remind me again why we're worrying about Joe Biden’s mental state? Lucy, it is like talking with kindergartners who stick their fingers in their ears while chanting “la-la-la! I can’t hear you!” As evidenced by the next post…

Mostly just gas stations (and their convenience stores) around here are open 24 hours. I think that our CVS is open 24 hours again, but that is about it. Pre-covid we had more stores open 24 hours, but even stores like our Dollar Tree are cutting hours open rather than increasing them.

To quote Merge: “Wrong. Spreading lies makes you a liar. Your assertions that "this" is happening all across the country are also lies.” Sorry no. You're not the authority over what those people experienced. Why do you have an issue with what I said? I’m just quoting what someone else said. So, it is perfectly okay for me to echo that assertion. In other words, the exact thing you did regarding YPAR and Albemarle schools. So, you can't possibly have a problem with me quoting what someone else said about you as fact. See how that works? 😂😂😂

No. Your "facts" are lies made up by people with an agenda. No one in any of the videos, letters, or lawsuits you post with regard to public schools has presented any evidence for their claims. Zero evidence. It's all lies, Gia. And we're going to call out your lies every time you post them. You are a lying liar who lies. Every time you post. I posted what people were saying their experience has been. That doesn't make me a liar. To quote Merge: “Wrong. Spreading lies makes you a liar. Your assertions that "this" is happening all across the country are also lies.”

Your stories are so interesting. Thank you for sharing them w/us. elaine , were you a professor in a former life? I seem to recall that taught statistics!?!?!? leannec , when you share your experiences on the dinner thread I always chuckle and I'm sure you chuckle when I share my ds's funny stories, too. He has a gavel. I don't recommend napping in his class. Yes, I taught Intro Psych for 2 years at Ohio State when I had my masters and was working on my PhD. Then I taught masters and grad students in psych at U of Oregon for 5 years. I then taught psychology and literature for undergrad cadets at the US Air Force Academy for 4 years, where I met and married my husband (US Navy officer teaching in my department). I also taught a few masters level counseling assessment courses at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs as a side gig. When he was transferred to the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) we had one child and I was pregnant with #2. I did research and worked with the Ethics program at NPS. By the time we were transferred to the DC area 3 years later, ds#1 had been diagnosed with autism and had started special ed. When we moved here, I started teaching night school at the University of Phoenix which had 3 ground campuses in the area (they all have shut down now). It worked because Dh would be home by the time I left to teach one night per week. I taught statistics, English, public speaking, and basic study skills for 7 years. I was the chair of the FlexNet program - which was a hybrid ground/online program for 4 of those years. After 7 years, the demands of my younger son made juggling prepping for courses, grading, etc., too much, so I stopped working outside the house 11 years ago. Last year I started substitute teaching and taking the courses VA required I take to get a K-12 teaching license. I’m still taking college classes in addition to teaching full-time with my own 3rd grade class. 18 years of teaching college experience wasn’t good enough. Anyone who thinks that they will let anyone with any college degree become a teacher doesn’t live in Virginia. I am having to use the day off - the district gave us Yom Kippur this year - to complete my own course assignments.

I, personally, want to make a positive difference to the world.
I never imagined not working, but having a severely disabled child changed that possibility. Now that I am in a life space again where I can work, I want to.
Realistically, I only have 10-11 years left to teach Elementary School in the classroom - I can’t imagine still doing that in my 70’s - but, I hope to still be able to teach at a university or take up a supervisory/admin position beyond that.

You said this, which is blatantly false: Or are you too uninformed to understand that the program you and FOX are complaining about in Albemarle Co. is called YPAR? That's directly from the lawsuit. It's also representative of what some teachers, students and parents are saying publicly across the country. Which is why I provided links so that you could read what the program actually teaches with your own eyes and supposed functioning brain that you claim to have, rather than get all your views spoon fed to you by Fox/Breitbart/OANN. And I have asked you what you specifically thought after reading what is being taught. Several times. Giving you the benefit of the doubt that you 1) can read, and 2) are interested in facts rather that some right wing news source falsehoods. Once presented with the actual information of what the program entails, that the lawsuit was funded by a right-wing action group, and that the lawsuit was dismissed, the fact that you continue to defend your mischaracterizations rather than own up to a mistake, just points to your lack of bells, ethics, and integrity.

Yes, Biden made a gaffe.
🤷♀️You misspoke on the woke thread, mischaracterizing what the YPAR program is called and teaches. What does that say about you? I didn't mischaracterize the YPAR program. I didn't say a single thing about it. What I did do is provide an answer to the op's question. But now you are completely mischaracterizing what I said. You said this, which is blatantly false: Or are you too uninformed to understand that the program you and FOX are complaining about in Albemarle Co. is called YPAR?

It isn’t on Apple Music. I have (pretty sure) the CD Short sharp shocked, but haven’t listen to it in years. I will have to go looking now. I’ve forgotten about it. I am not sure you will be able to find it with all I read, unless you have an old cd or something. I would start looking at thrift stores or places that sell old or used CDs if you really want it hear it. Thanks for the flash back. I was shocked (😉😄) to read the Wikipedia entry on her and did not remember hearing about all the controversy with her saying she was the biggest homophobe at a Christian event and a lot of other info including her growing up Mormon. Although she did say there was a lot of disinformation in her Wikipedia entry. On her own website she says: That’s probably more background than you needed. But here’s my point: I’ve done the impossible. Using the dull sledgehammer we call DMCA takedown, I have enforced my intellectual property rights by deliberately withholding my work, in order to demonstrate the scale of the creative destruction. Any of my work you find on the Internet is an unlicensed bootleg. You won’t find my work on iTunes. Not on YouTube. Not on Amazon. Not on Spotify. If 80 year-old consent decrees and 110 year-old compulsory licenses didn’t protect corporate predators, my work wouldn’t be on Pandora or SiriusXM either. Thirty four years into a career with complete ownership of an amazing, critically-acclaimed, internationally-recognized catalog, and I have managed to extricate myself from the biggest bootleg operation the world has ever seen. I’ve paid a high price, certainly. I’ll continue to search for alternatives where creative control and artistic integrity might be practiced beyond our digital dystopia. The current degree of DMCA dysfunction offers little light at the end of a very long tunnel, either for new or legacy artists. The .01% of artists who receive 90% of the streaming revenue may be the names you’ll recall. But for the 99% of us dying at a rate of extinction faster than the Amazon tree frog, the songs we wrote that you never heard will be all that remains of our story. Whatever disinformation there is, her being homophobic is not one of them. She's vile. Amen. I loved that album - Short, Sharp, Shocked. But after her vile born-again Christian rant against gay marriage I stopped listening to all of it. Disgusting doesn’t quite describe her words. Deplorable is more like it. She doesn’t deny her on-stage lecture about gay marriage being a precursor of the end of days.

From the article: "For example, Friend and Seraphin assert that the high number of cases opened on those who participated in the singular event of Jan. 6 is giving Americans a false impression that domestic terror is on the rise." Interesting that they don't give the American public credit for being smart enough to see this (hopefully) once-in-a-lifetime-or-more event as the cause of a single spike in number of cases opened. As if the events of the last several years didn’t make it perfectly clear that domestic terrorism is DEFINITELY on the rise. 🤬 What an asinine line of reasoning and a total farce. And actually, before January 6th, there were reports by the FBI and hate crime/group watch groups that domestic terrorism and hate crimes were definitely on the rise.

I think I was the first one to jump on the “but Trump said … ” bandwagon in this thread. Believe me, it doesn’t mean I can’t tell when Joe Biden makes another gaffe. Joe Biden’s gaffes are so freakin’ unimportant in comparison to Trump’s gaffes AND purposeful, uncalled-for personal attacks that this OP wouldn’t dream of posting a critical thread about, that my life is too short for wasting time on nodding my head in agreement. Yes, this was a cringe-worthy mistake. That said, Joe Biden could be in a coma and still be a better president than Trump. I am not going to change my mind or my ways on this. If the political threads bother you, it’s okay not to open them. Laurie The OP is just mad about the woke teaching thread and thought she’d get back with this nothing burger. I have to wonder at anyone who thinks there is room for “good discussion” with the right at this point in history. Are they even paying attention? How can you listen with a straight face to someone whose entire perspective is based on lies? Seriously. In a tactic taken from the Trump playbook, if embarrassed by a stupid claim you make publicly, deflect deflect deflect! In the NSBR world, that means start a thread about a gaffe someone else made without admitting you actually stuck your foot in your own mouth.

It is such a light and airy house, or, it would be without all that red. They should have gone with darker wood for the cabinets, etc., to better match the Crimson Tide theme.
That said, it is a nice home if you can envision it without all the themed decor.
