I'm just so happy to be back scrapbooking again!! I'm very comfortable and pretty organized in my new scrapbook room thankfully! Absolutely loving it! My goals for 2018 are - print all 2017 photos (that's a big goal..) - make and send birthday, anniversary, sympathy cards - I am going on two big trips, Mexico in February with BFF and Yellowstone Park in June with DH. I want to make (and finish) albums of each trip - get caught up in family albums, I'm about 2 years behind - mainly keep enjoying this wonderful hobby Where in Mexico? Cabo. I've never been there but my friend has several times. |

I've been working on and off all day on my DD. It's been wonderful to finally have time to play with it!! I have nothing planned for tonight or this whole weekend except working on the DD!! Yay me!! Happy New Year everyone!

Making Memories and More in Siren, Wisconsin is an amazing scrapbook store. It's definitely worth the 2 hour drive!!

I only ask because our surname is Drew, and we always joked that we couldn't name our daughter "Nancy" or "Ann" No it isn't. It is nickname that my family and friends call me. I am just sitting here wondering if I should finally start my DD?? I have taken photos throughout the month but that's about it (except shop for supplies!) I took the day off of work to get ready for Christmas but pretty much everything is done! I really want to start playing with my DD but I also don't want to mess up my scrapbook room, which is actually very clean and organized right now. My daughter and her significant other are coming tomorrow and staying for a few days so I really shouldn't make a mess...

I'm so sorry. That's awful! At my work place we had a new employee, whose very young and a little rough around the edges, say she was going to just give the person she gets a bunch of junk. And she did but we all chipped in and made up for it

I was moving our Christmas tree ( which I really wasn't fond of) from where my DH thought it should be ( I didn't agree). Well the tree broke while I was moving it so I went and bought a new that I really like and put it where I wanted it.

I usually donate to our local ( an hour away) Ronald McDonald House. The children that stay there for medical treatment love to make cards to send back to love ones and to scrapbook their journeys. I know first hand because my daughter spent about a month there in her late teens while she was having medical issues. I've also donated to our local women shelter.

I'm approaching my album this year as a collection of 31 holiday related things. It may be events, recipes, old memories, stories about ornaments, traditions etc. This takes the pressure off of me to find one thing everyday to include and makes the album more meaningful to me. For example,so far I have: 1- thoughts about the upcoming holidays and what I'm looking forward to 2- cookie exchange party I went to on the 2nd 3- Christmas parade 4- something funny my son said about Santa 5- list of 5 things that are meaningful right now 6- getting our Christmas tree 7- reflections with a religious vibe 8- family Christmas movie night 9- cold weather 10- Christmas Cookie decorating party 11- favorite decorations around the house 12- story about the holiday store at my son's school and the spirit of giving 13- decorating the tree Tomorrow I will tell about the school holiday party, even though it took place the day before, but I'm good with that because I figure in a year I won't care when it happened but will be glad I recorded it. I'm also doing it in a 4x6 mini album, sometimes with 1 page spread, sometime 2 pages depending. I think the idea of a December album is that you can make it whatever you want. This is exactly when I've always done with my DD. This format works best for me and my family. |

My oddball item would be pop tabs. My family has always collected these for the Ronald McDonald house. I wanted to do page about that. I actually found pp with tabs. I the actual pop tabs on the layout.
My question is how many finished scrapbooks do your have?

My main goal is to get my husband's fishing album done by Christmas, which shouldn't be a problem since I'm getting close to done. I also need to get working on my DD but haven't done anything with it except take photos. I never finish mine until January thou and I do more of a Christmas memories a than a daily album. I'm also WAY behind on printing photos from this year. Arrrgh! Printing photos! Yesterday a made a trip to do some other errands, but specifically chose this day so I could print some photos for the canvas I want to create. Got the photos printed, Had them in my hand as I walked through the store. Now I can't find them in my vehicle!!! Need to make one more search, and if they are still MIA I need to phone WM when the photo centre opens to see if someone turned them in yesterday and I can get a friend to pick them up. If not, I need to print them again this next week. GRRRR.... ETA: I went through my vehicle with a fine toothed comb. Found my dh's credit card I had misplaced--I REALLY miss my MIND:crazy: !!!--and returned that to him, but no photos. Called WalMart and my little envelope is at their Customer Service. Whew!!! Hoping to have them in my senile fingers by end of day... I'm so glad Walmart has your photos! It's hard enough getting them printed once! |
