I wasn't sure what was the scariest thing to leave in my car yesterday while I ran into a store quick...my purse, 90%of my scrapbooking supplies (including a laptop), or a big refill container of hand sanitizer!!!
I bought the one refill for my church because I couldn't find more after having two orders cancelled on me (I'm the the church secretary & most of the dispensers had refills with sanitizer that expired 4 years ago...oops). Right before leaving the church yesterday & heading to a scrapbooking retreat, a big box showed up--one of my cancelled orders of 8 refills showed up! So now I'm carrying around this 1 refill before I will get a chance to return it to Office Depot next week.

I love my Birks, but they aren't the first shoes I pull out to wear any more as they are all 15-25 years old. I don't have any thong style ones, they all have some sort of strap. My two favorites are one with a back strap and one with a wide stretchy red band for the strap...very comfy in hot weather and very cute (I get a lot of compliments on them and a lot of "where'd you get those", but after 15 years I don't remember the name of the shoe and the store is long gone).

Ugh...love the colors & even the flowers, but I don't have much of a need for that many "friend" cards.

My son's HS has canceled/"delayed" a major music festival and the annual spring class rally competition. We just hosted a music festival & while at the time there were no official cases in the state yet, it was still a little weird to think "someone here has to have been exposed somehow...". But there were a ton of people there, young & old, and it was great to see people going about their normal lives...not stockpiling TP & water!

I wanted to comment on the teacher thread, but I'm not a teacher or school employee. I am curious what other parents have been told by their districts about what would happen if they had to close down.
I have 2 boys--my oldest is in the largest district in Iowa and my younger one is in a very small private school. Neither school system has said anything about what would happen if they had to close down. The first confirmed cases were just announced in the state over the weekend, but you know that's only the beginning. The larger district has just been letting people know that they are doing extra cleaning and also canceling some school-sponsored spring break trips. They did have a list of rules/suggestions to follow if anyone does travel over spring break next week.
I'm not necessarily worried about my youngest because they get laptops from school and can easily do online lessons. My only concern would be his ability to sit and watch/learn without getting antsy or completely zoning out (ADD--and he doesn't like to take his meds if he's not at school).
I do wonder how it would work for my oldest, other than just extending the school year. They don't have school issued laptops. It's also a very diverse district in terms of race/ethnicity/income/etc. A lot of kids would have access to any online learning, but a lot would not. Food would also be another concern because a very large portion of the district qualifies for free/reduced lunches so most schools just offer free meals to everyone.
Thankfully it's been a very mild winter so they've maybe had one or two days off. The districts around here would have to do some scrambling with the baseball and softball schedules during any extended school year days--they are summer sports around here. Most of DS's games are scheduled for 10:30/11:30 am start times, 2-3 days a week in June and the first half of July. It works when school ends around the end of May, but not if it goes much later!

I actually like the bigger size words (except for the words I don't have much use for...) but they give a page such a different look when used in the title.

Our church already does the sermon on FB live each week so that would be easy to do. The "problem" with an all-digital service is that we can't do the music because of copywrite laws (or something like that). I would definitely miss the worship part of the service. But to my knowledge it hasn't even been discussed yet (unless they aren't letting the secretary in on it...me...)

Honestly, Grey's should have been done years ago. The only reason I still watch is because I have A LOT of time invested in this show. I agree completely. After 15 years I can't just stop watching, but I will be completely fine with it ending as soon as possible (as long as they get to end on their terms, not because it was cancelled).

I liked it too, but then again I rarely agree with twitterdom. I did not want him killed off, especially off screen. Before the show last night I couldn't think of a good way for him to leave that wouldn't piss me off, but I liked that storyline. Izzie was never my favorite character & I didn't miss her when she was gone, but without Alex's letter to Jo I would have hated he storyline (the other letters helped too).
It could also be that I liked the episode simply because it was 80% flashbacks. The Hulu synopsis about Ben & Bailey making a decision made me scared that their storyline would interfere with Alex's storyline, but it worked perfectly.

I have one that I bought this last year, but otherwise mine are all at least 15 years old. I rarely use mine because they either make me too hot or too cold after a shower (I never wear one over pajamas).

I've had the S10e for a little over a month and I'm pretty happy with it. I haven't printed any photos from it yet so I'm not sure about the camera, but it seems much better than my old phone (Galaxy 5 something or other). I've only had maybe one call dropped, but that was in my kitchen and it doesn't seem to want to send texts from the kitchen sometimes too...but has no problem sending them from the basement! I love that mine came with the screen protector already put on--no bubbles for me!

Not sure how the school would handle students being out at least 2 weeks This would be my concern. My youngest son gets a school laptop so it's possible his private school could still do some schooling that way. My oldest son, and the other 30K kids in the district, do not get school laptops and a fair number might not have Wi-Fi at home anyway. It could get really interesting if it got bad enough around here that the schools had to close down because there's no way to do remote learning and so many kids rely on the schools for breakfast and lunch.

Short-term--getting everything packed for a multi-day scrapbooking retreat next weekend, including making a casserole for my part of the meals, making lists for DH about the boys' schedules, all while going about my regular busy daily life (days and most evenings too).
Long-term--having to wait until end of June to get in to see a Psychiatrist for DS's ADHD (hoping to get in earlier via the waitlist). He's been on meds for 4 years now, but he's back to sitting and not doing his work which means he has a lot of homework (and he hates homework). He also seems to be developing tics. He didn't gain any weight between his physical and his 6 month med/weight check so the Pediatrician doesn't want to simply up his meds, but decided to send us to this psychiatrist for more help.
Long-term part 2--older DS is in the middle of Drivers Ed and we're hoping to get him a school permit so he can get to and from school (mostly for baseball). That means a 3rd car and adding him to our insurance...ouch.

We have a small house with only one bathroom, but surprisingly it's rare that more than one of us gets sick at a time (maybe colds, but if anyone has a worse sort of virus it doesn't get spread around). But I wouldn't want to take the chance if any of us were told to quarantine because of the Corona Virus so we'd all stay home. We'd get a little stir crazy, but not too bad because I'm usually in the basement at my scrapbooking desk, one or both of the boys are in their rooms on a device while the other might be playing Xbox in the living room, and DH would either watch TV in the living room or in our bedroom. DH would have the hardest time (especially if the weather was bad and he couldn't go outside)...but my house might be the cleanest it's been in years because he doesn't mind cleaning!!!
We live a large city so we could have just about anything delivered, but also have friends nearby that would pick things up for us too.

We just so happened to be low on things like TP, Clorox wipes, hand soap and a few other things so I bought more than I probably would have under "normal" circumstances. Some of it is because of the virus fear, some of it is because I'm working more and I don't have as much free time to go shopping like I used to.
I really don't want to stock up on certain foods because I'm afraid we'll never eat it. We just don't use a ton of processed/shelf stable food.

I was just thinking about this last night!!! DH has slowly gotten worse over the years. It used to be that if he was on his side he wouldn't snore as much, but now it doesn't seem to matter. I try to be nice and not be too obvious in my attempts to get his to move/adjust, but if he's snoring while on his side facing me (and it sounds like he's snoring right into my ears) then all bets are off.

I wish I were crafting, but the inlaws are here for a visit. I've given up on any more crafting and am in the process of slowly organizing, packing, and purging for a multi-day crop I have in less than 2 weeks. The organizers have already announced a "free" table so I'm definitely going to take some stuff along (especially a lot of kids stuff now that my youngest is 12). Next year I can get rid of my leftover soccer/wrestling/volleyball/track/basketball stuff too! ...leaving me more room for all of my baseball, football, and band stuff...

I agree with everyone else that I'd probably still go. The only reason I might not go is if I were like my neighbor who has heart & lung issues. She is very worried about getting the virus because according to her doctors she's in a low-survivability group because of her health issues.

I would make soup because I want to help out and I also like to cook (not because I'd feel obligated). I personally don't think it would be good for someone to eat that much canned soup because of the amount of sodium, but I can't control others.
If I were the MIL I would have also made and frozen some soup before my surgery.

Unless they do an Easter break as their spring break, most schools around here have their spring break March 16-20 (plus the Friday before for a lot of school, or the couple of days after like my son's school, but those are inservice days so staff has to be back.)

I'm trying not to get worked up--thankfully none of us have any major health issues so we don't need to worry about medications. I am mad at myself for not getting TP at Target today...not so much for stocking up but because we're down to 2 rolls!!!

We've lived in our house for almost 20 years and other than a complete kitchen remodel 15 years ago we haven't done a lot to the house (just some painting in bedrooms as we had kids). I would love to remodel our bedroom to add a bathroom, but that won't ever happen because of the cost of moving water lines/pipes.

Most of my stamp/die sets are from Stampin Up. When I get a bundled set I cup up magnetic vent covers that I get from an Ace Hardware, and glue that to the inside of the stamp case.

So I'm not interested in this new project Ali is doing this week, but kuddos to those who are, especially if it sparks something in your memory keeping or story telling...just please keep your bare feet pictures off of FB! Nobody needs to see that, least of all on a Monday morning...

I was honestly expecting a wood-burning stove in the kitchen and was a little surprised to see "modern" appliances! Neat to see, but I really can't imagine living in a house like that.

Last year I drove 4 hours roundtrip to watch my son play a 45 minute volleyball match (and that's being generous) because it's a small private school that needs help transporting all of the kids. That was not worthwhile, but thankfully he is not playing again this year!
This year I would have gladly driven 4 hours roundtrip to watch my other son play a JV football game, but I didn't want to deal with dragging an unwilling younger son along on a school night. ODS actually rolled his eyes and told me "You don't have to go to every game you know...". However, I want to go and I always had a fear in the back of my mind that he would get hurt during a far away game--thankfully he was not the one driven off the field in an ambulance after diving at a loose ball, getting hit, and then was unable to move for a short time (and thankfully his teammate was ok in the end). But I can't imagine having to drive 2 hours knowing your baby is injured in a hospital. So over the next 3 years he could play anywhere up to 4 hours away, one way, and I will make every effort to go.

I avoided gummy vitamins until this year for my boys (who are 12 & 14) because I always worried about them getting into the bottle to have more because they thought they were regular gummy bears. They were happy with Flintstone chewable vitamins (or Target's brand most of the time), but I thought try they out once when Target was out of chewables. My oldest son didn't care either way, but my youngest likes the gummies so I'll stick with those.
I like regular pills (can't differentiate capsules vs tablets in my post-sickness tiring haze...) and don't think I'd care for gummies because I love regular gummies too much!

I've had a 6qt for about a year and a half. I love it, but tend to use it in spurts. I got an 8qt this fall and while I've only used it a couple of times, it was nice having the extra space when we did use it.
