I want the chipboard from the main kit so bad...but that's pretty much it. The sentiments are what I've always wanted in the WITL products (not multiple repetitions of the days of the week or any other references to "week", just sentiments that might reflect my day). I have no use for the cards at all and not just because I don't do DITL. I like that she did the plastic icons again--I liked the DD ones, but didn't get them until I saw how others were using them and by that time they were sold out. I like the inside of the album, but not the outside color nor the price tag.

My LSS goes mostly by themes, but does keep collections together as long as possible. They also highlight the newest lines by keeping those on an endcap or in the front of the store if it's a big selection/holiday. They keep obvious themed paper in the theme section, but after awhile they will put any patterned paper that doesn't scream theme in with the rest of the non-themed pattern paper (arranged by color).
It works for because I'm usually looking by theme more than designer.

When I switched from a sedan to a minivan I called it my newest scrapbooking tool because I could now haul all of my stuff to a crop... An acquaintance (who dabbled in scrapbooking at the time) asked me what people do at a crop...do you just sit there all weekend and crop photos? Yes...nothing else is allowed...just cropping photos at a crop...

Right up there with hotels that only show maybe one style of room and then maybe the most expensive room (of which there's probably only one anyway). Don't get me started on the pool photos that make it look ginormous because of the angle used...I've started studying other things in the background to get a better idea of the scale.

Am I the only one who thinks this looks disgusting? Nope. I like pie. I like cake. But I can't imagine how all of those flavors and textures can make an appetizing dessert.

If I'm cooking for myself, my favorite is a potato hash from scratch (potatoes, onion, red peppers, bacon, maple syrup glaze at the end with over easy eggs & some shredded cheese).
If DH is making breakfast like he usually does on Saturday mornings, the family favorite is "Awesomesauce pancakes" which is crepes with a cream cheese filling that we some times add Nutella too, with fruit on top.
If we're going out for breakfast, my favorite is from a local diner, Santa Fe Grits with over easy eggs.
But honestly, I love almost anything breakfasty. About the only things I don't care for are pancakes (but will eat) and some hashbrown based egg casseroles (prefer bread based).

I just got my January stamp kit...and I think I like the new plastic sleeves. Admittedly I'm not sure about the longevity quality of the plastic, but it seems to at least be thick enough to be sturdy. I think I might get more of the 6x8 sleeves for my alphabets. I might get some of the other sizes to put stamps in when I go to a crop (I took all of my SC stamps out of the plastic bags to help simplify my storage, but kept some for travel purposes).

So mad that I forgot to skip the SBTM kit...so much pink. I got the leather pieces because I'm sure I'll need them for WITL now that I have a new job as the secretary of my church (and make lots of lists so I don't forget things!

It's like Basic Grey had a baby with someone (but I can't quite put my finger on who...)
I love some of the papers, but wouldn't guess it's a travel line until you see the embellishments.

No more retro! I just can't do it.
So much of it looks like every other kit EP has put out in years past. I will admit the summertime one does look like a different mix of designs, but I don't have a use for most of it.
I also like the Cartography2 paper that shows the map view from the north pole, just because it's something different. I will maybe get the Germany paper because it looks like it might show the areas of Germany, Austria & Switzerland that he'll visit, on a school trip next year, and leave room for a photo since he won't be in northern Germany.

Good hack. Got any cure for the sticky foam that flies out of the pressure release when you cook something starchy? When I make Mac & Cheese I put the rack in upside down so it's sitting on the tall handles and the rack part is higher above the water and pasta. In theory this helps pop some of the bubbles and I usually end up with less starchy spray when releasing the pressure. I also go very slow at first, just barely nudging it towards the release side.

I made a 6x8 album of my son's Close Up trip to DC last spring. I asked him to take plenty of pictures, especially of things other than the usual DC photo ops. He did pretty good, but I wish he had taken more of the kids he hung out with. Since I'm familiar with DC it was easy to make up the album. It was also fun because we tracked him via Google Maps and I included a lot of screenshots from those moments (especially when his GPS was showing him miles away from where we knew he actually was!)
I'm planning to do another album for him when he goes to Germany/Austria/Switzerland in 15 months, but that might be harder because I won't be familiar with anything.

I got the main kit and the teen kit last month, but haven't used any of them yet. I did order the main kit for January, but no more toddlers for me so I didn't get either of the other two kits (I could use some of the spacey things, but not enough to get the whole kit.) What do you think of the kits now that you saw them in person? They seem like a nice mix of different brands that coordinate for the most part. The kits come in a large plastic ziptop bag--sturdier than the simple bags some collection kits come in, but not as nice as the old SC bags. The packaging for the few exclusives is potentially nice because the card inside of the plastic bag/cover has a usable pattern on the backside. I pulled out one of the stamps and they seem nice--love that the plastic sheet the stamps don't stick to is connected to the sheet they do stick to by one huge piece of packing tape (with enough space between the two so they can fold over like a book cover). Part of me wishes they included, or at least offered cardstock, but then again I have a ton myself. The first kits had a lot of woodgrain on one side of the paper, but it looks like the second kit is a little better (I just don't use woodgrain very much). Their exclusives are minimal, but seem to be of decent quality so far. Hopefully they can grow that part of the kit, maybe even be able to offer exclusive paper. My second kit comes Monday and I'm a little excited to see it in person because I liked the color scheme a little bit better than the first.

Kits

I am bad about letting kits pile up because I use them as I think necessary, not use them because it's the newest one. I really should try harder to use as they arrive, I'm definitely going to try that with the new Not Just For Boys kit (after I get December Daily done...)
I've kept my AE kits together for the most part, but I will take out anything that doesn't scream the theme (letters/numbers, stars, hearts, etc.) After I've used the plastic letter I will start to break down the kit more, but I still keep the cards together and usually store the chipboard with the cards because it fits. Since there are such distinctive themes, I try to keep the broken kit pieces together for ease of finding something down the road. My SBTM kits are still together, but I should break them up and at least get the non-monthly themed cards/embellishments out and into my stash.
The few Elle's Studio kits I've gotten over the years get broken up almost immediately, but I usually buy ones that will work for a vacation so the cards get separated into "vacation" or "others" with the others getting filed into my stash of PL cards.
I used to keep the papers from my SC SB kit together while keeping the embellishments together in a separate bag for a couple of months before blending into my stash. It wasn't until the SB kit ended that I finally mixed all of the papers together by colors.

I'm done through #20, but 21 to the end are a lot of bigger stories (4 gatherings and the Star Wars movie). I haven't had time to sit and work on it when I feel like it...and haven't worked on it when I have had the time! Too many distractions from DH and the boys, thankfully we all go back to our regular lives tomorrow.

I too buy a lot of consumables...and then don't consume them in a timely fashion! I don't buy a lot of tools, but I do buy more stamps than I really need or will ever use.

I might be blind (and not reading far enough back) but the subfor10 code they have going might be twice what it used to be, but it does work on the m2m sub option. I really like the alpha stamp and the kits are relatively cute. Anyone out there tempted to sign up? It does work on the M2M option--I ordered the stamp kit with it. Forgot to cancel before the 25th in the craziness of Cmas...

Has anyone else not received their SBTM kit yet? Mine shipped on the 16th, said it would be delivered on the 21st, and I've still got nothing. I don't think I've received my kits yet either. My UPS tracking number isn't working so I can't tell if it's been delivered and I forgot about it, or what state it's in.

I have Hulu no-ads and Disney plus (need to get around to combining with the ESPN, but haven't yet). DH has Hulu Live (used to have Sling, but we switched this fall). I can't use Hulu live on my laptop because the location doesn't work and that's where I watch 95% of what I do watch on Hulu. I've had Hulu no-ads for years and won't give that up.

We just switched to Hulu Live this fall so the increase really hurts. It was handy to have this fall because of the Big 10 network (otherwise we'd have stayed with Sling) but it's hard to justify it during the rest of the year.

In our current house--no to anyone because we barely have the space for the 4 of us.
If we had a bigger house I could maybe see letting my Mom or my Dad move in, but I have lots of siblings with bigger houses that are closer to where they both are now. But my inlaws...nope. They are the nicest, sweetest, kindest, most humble people that drive me crazy! I just can't take being around them for more than a day.

I organize things by the month. I store photos in folders by the month, I upload to Snapfish by the month, and then order by the month (all the while keeping cell phone pics separated from DSLR pics). I store the printed photos in envelopes by the month, but this is when I first combine the cell and DSLR photos. I write a list in chronological order that I can check off after I've scrapped the pictures (i.e. FB at East 10/2, Tyler sleeping 10/3, Music concert 10/7, etc.) and that list goes into the envelope with the pictures.

I always do a return address sticker. I used to sign the letter (while having our names printed on the photo card) but I stopped doing even that. Some years I use labels, but some years I write out the addresses--lately it's been writing the addresses because something is wrong with my Word document and the labels don't always print right. About 2/3 of our cards go to people at church because of a big exchange we've started doing, but if I can get a label sheet for those then I'll use that, otherwise I write the names.

THIS. My MIL loves getting new pictures. Can someone link to this? I’m thinking it might be a good idea for my 90-year-old mother who lives in assisted living. A couple of years ago we got the Skylight frames for our parents and they have really liked them. All we have to do is to email a picture to an email address and it will show up whenever the frame is turned on. I doubt they have the frames turned on all of the time, but they usually do during family gatherings so it's fun to see what others have sent...or remember to send some yourself! It's a lot better than a regular digital frame because the recipient doesn't have to do anything to get the new pictures (as opposed to having to add pictures to a memory card/slot first). skylightframe.com
