Getting my boys up and out the door (and getting myself ready too). It's been pretty nice being able to sleep in (or at least not have to set an alarm) most days!

I let my boys do whatever they wanted last week because it was their official spring break (we just couldn't go anywhere fun and they did have some chores to do). They are happy to play XBox all day, but don't protest too much when I force them outside or into the car for a ride.
14yo--He's doing ok, but I think he misses doing weights and other preseason activities for baseball. He really misses having any sports to watch on tv. His public school district isn't prepared to do any sort of online learning because so many kids probably don't have any access or consistent access. The state also says districts can't mandate online learning so they aren't even trying. The district offered a few ideas to keep kids occupied, but as a very smart 9th grader nothing is a good fit for him (just finished Geometry, is in year 1 of German, Chemistry, etc.) He was in the middle of a PE class where he was learning to umpire and referee, so I'll be sad if he can't finish that. He was also halfway through Drivers Ed--and I really need him to finish that ASAP! Thankfully its through a private company so they don't have to follow the rules for the schools, but they are for now (which is fine). I'm not sure what to do for him both physically and mentally for at least the next 3 weeks.
12yo--yah...fun. His private school started online learning on Tuesday. They can do it easily because the kids already had school-issued laptops and were already using Google Classrooms (Zoom is new for them though). The worst part is I'm still working about 13 hours a week and most of those are when his classes are scheduled. He's fine with the Zoom lessons and most of the homework, but that's only if he remembers. I set a reminder on his phone for each class, but the one for this afternoon didn't go off so he forgot to log on for a class. He's also ADHD and does not like to take his meds if he's not going to school--I can't convince him he needs to take them, even if he isn't physically going to school. I'm afraid one of his teachers is going to have them do a lot of work that is not what he likes to do (I can just envision her saying "oh, this looks like it will be fun for the kids to do"...and those are the ones he struggles with the most!)
So needless to say it's going to be hard with one son doing classes and the other not having anything official to do.

I went to the store yesterday and was surprised at how slow it was and how well stocked they were. There were some shelves that were still picked over (pasta, veggies, fruits, but there were options. I never go down the aisles with TP or cleaning supplies so I don't know what those were like). The produce was well stocked, just missing my nice selection of mushrooms (although they did have some sliced white ones).
People are calling for a mandatory shelter in place here in Iowa, but it doesn't sound like that's in the works yet so that could be why the store was in good shape.

We usually head out of town to visit family, but my Mom has already said they are cancelling. I'd hate to not see anyone since it's been since Christmas, but it's not worth the risk either.

Yogurt--my boys love to eat Chobani flips with their lunch, but I didn't stock up enough because I've been used to them not eating much while they are in school.
Non-food item...dishwasher soap! I knew we had "plenty" so I didn't bother getting more, but that was before I realized we'd be running the dishwasher every day, day and a half!

Getting back to our regularly scheduled chaotic schedule...and dropping my boys off at school!
I will admit it's nice to not be in the middle of the chaotic schedule, but that also means that our oldest isn't preparing for his baseball season. Depending on how the school year finishes out (we're only cancelled through 4/13, but I doubt we go back then) there's still a chance they can play some baseball because it's a summer sport for high schools in Iowa. This might be the only time I'm happy about that!
He should also be continuing to work out for football season, but can only do so much from home (and he really hasn't been good about it). He is so used to be physical and active that it's weird/hard for him to have nothing to do.

Got what I wanted. I debated on the main kit, but skipped it with plans to order later because I didn't want lose the embellishments in my cart.

Central Iowa--most schools are closed for a month or are on spring break for the week & will announce future plans some time this week.
Govenor just declared an emergency, shutting down all sit down dining, closing gyms, theaters, adult day care (and more), and prohibiting any gathering larger than 10 people (anything social or religious, etc). I'm sure there's more to it, but that's all that affects me & that I can remember. This only goes until the end of March so it will be interesting to see if it helps or gets extended.

It's being done in my neighborhood and I put some bears in our window. Someone made up a list of several things over the next few weeks, but I'm not sure if I'll do those.

I've defrosted & reorganized the chest freezer and then reorganized the pantry, but that's about it so far. I'm trying to get my scrapbooking supplies unpacked and put away after a crop, so that usually requires some sort of reorganizing...which is why I'm still working on it despite getting home a week ago. Definitely need to work on the kitchen and boys' rooms, but I'm also lacking motivation.

It's been ok. If 3 of us are using it there can sometimes be issues, but if 4 of us use it it's worse. DH has issues trying to do anything on his work laptop while at home, so he's still going into the office. It's going to be interesting if he has to stay home at any point, especially since our youngest is starting online learning this week. At least DH gets up early so he can probably put in half a day before the rest of us get up!

I usually do wings one of two ways: 1) Cook them in the Instant Pot (not sure how long, but there are lots of recipes out there). Once cooked I put them in a bowl with sauce and mix. Then I put them on a baking sheet and put them under the broiler for a few minutes. 2) Marinate wings in a mix of Italian dressing and hot sauce (something like Frank's or Red Devil). Then either grill (basting frequently with extra sauce) or bake in the oven.

Ooooh, I'm intrigued. I've been looking for a replacement for my Stampin' Up trimmer (I don't like certain things about the newest one, especially the lack of the underside storage for blades). I recently got the Creative Memories personal trimmer and like it for the most part--takes a little getting used to with the guillotine arm, not a sliding blade.

Hyvee announced they were doing something like this, but I couldn't picture how it would look. Thanks for the link! They also said they were temporarily banning reusable bags. I can see that would be concerned about touching my potentially germ covered bags, but I am concerned about touching the potentially germ covered bags in store. I've seen pictures and it looks weird. I didn't take my reusable bags in earlier this week because I had a feeling a temporary ban on them might come soon (if I didn't already miss an announcement about it over the weekend) and I really regretted it because I came home a thousand bags--one bag would have 2 juices and a similar sized bottle of oil, while another bag could have a one pound bag of ham. So many bags had one, maybe two things in them.

I love the color scheme! I like the new font for the days of the week cards, but it's a little bit of overkill to have it on every card. I could also do without all of the "Gratitude" cards (I document what happens, I rarely go deep into my feelings). Go figure I like all 3 chipboard sets and would easily buy a set, whereas I don't like all of the sticker sheets in the set.
I will probably go with Ali's kit and the album, maybe the chipboard, pleather hexagons, and the plastic circles.

I too am thinking of making a turkey. I initially dismissed the idea because I don't have the fridge space to thaw mine in, but then I realized that I could take it with me to work (church secretary) and use one of those fridges. My only other concern would be having white bread & milk at the right time to make the stuffing because our turkeys are mainly used a cooking vessel for our stuffing!

Either a local steakhouse for a trip around their salad bar, prime rib, loaded baked potato and a glass of red wine, or a local sushi place for their sushi & sashimi platter.

My grocery store was out of fresh mushrooms--there's only one dish I purposefully buy canned mushrooms for, otherwise we use a lot of fresh mushrooms. I then forgot to look for canned mushrooms, but I couldn't have gotten many anyway because there was a limit of 6 canned vegetables.

I haven't heard, but that doesn't mean much. I did keep more cash out of my last paycheck deposit than normal and didn't deposit all of the cash from my flower deliveries, but we're talking a couple hundred, not thousands. Why? Don't know, just because, just in case. Of what? don't know, just because, just in case...

I could for my part-time job (kids club in a gym that chose to shut down before the state shut all gyms down) but I'm down to maybe one shift a week, usually every other week because I have another pt job that pays much better. If I didn't have the other job and were still working 3-4 shifts a week there I'd at least look into it.

Sounds good! It will be a good excuse to finally unpack after my crop last weekend although I've been waiting to unpack until I finally get around to defrosting (and inventorying/rearranging) our chest freezer which is right by my scrappy area.

Schools around here are saying "at least until April 13th", but that's only 4 weeks so I too worry it will be longer. The state has said we don't have to make up those days, but no word about what will happen if the closures last longer.
I forgot about state testing because one son has already done his, but my oldest hasn't. I'm also worried about my oldest getting drivers ed done. I'm thankful it's through a private company so they have more flexibility (rather than going through the school district) but I want to get it done so he can get a school permit...but that's mostly for summer high school baseball and then football camp, so if we go later than expected some of that will be moot.

My boys are officially on Spring Break this week so I'm letting them have their do-nothing break they deserve. As of now my oldest has a 2nd week off but I'm not sure what I'll let him get away with yet. My youngest is scheduled to go back next Monday, but if he doesn't I'm guessing he'll have school work to start doing.

Central Iowa--our district is closed until the 30th, but that's only 2 days of missed classes for the kids because of spring break and scheduled professional development days (now everything is closed/cancelled including the school-provided day care & Boy & Girls Clubs can't meet at the schools). Other districts in the area say they are going to stay open after spring break next week, but that just gives them another week to decide. Most colleges/universities are online only.

It definitely feels weird to me--i've been at a scrapbooking retreat since Wednesday afternoon...feels like forever ago because of how much has changed in just 2 days. I hear about the empty shelves, but assume they can't be here in Iowa, but people arriving after me have said it's happening. I never want to leave this retreat because it's so much fun & I get so much done, but this year I really don't want to leave this "happy scrappy" bubble we have here.

As of now, no, but I also don't do PL. If I happen to take pictures because of any changes to our routine I'll eventually scrap about it, but so far our only change is our oldest gets any extra 2 days of spring break.

Our district just announced they are cancelling all classes, activities and events until March 30th. Thankfully that's only 2 days of classes because of spring break & 3 staff development days.
