I am not a fan of them! My dad passed away on 11/15/19 and my in-laws sent us wind chimes as a memorial gift! Ugh!! My husband put them up right away and I haven’t had the heart to tell them I hate them!!

I love them but share walls (and divided deck) with neighbors so I’ll never have any.

Detest. They always sound like they are setting up scene in a horror movie.
You'll appreciate this story. We had our old wind chime in a location that's sheltered and won't sound unless there's a crazy huge gust of wind (very rare and even then it would ring softly), or you manually sound it. Anyhow, one night it started going off... not the sound of an animal crashing into it, but almost like someone or some thing was strumming it. I refused to look out because I did not want to see the gremlin/ghost that was playing with the bars.

I like them at other people’s houses. And I like them when my neighbors have them. I like the sound they make, and I like when the neighbors sound catches on a breeze and comes to my house. But I don’t want them at my house. They are too loud and distracting so close.

Like some, hate others. The really high pitch tinny wind-chimes drive me nuts.

I like them, and have one hanging across my yard. It is subtle, nicely tuned and we have no close neighbors to annoy.

I love them. DH hates them, but is willing to have one if I really want one. I'm willing to only get one he likes the sound of and so whenever we are in a store near them we test them. We don't have one yet. We've been married 28 years.

Love! I especially love my Corinthian Bells, they sound like church bells.

Annoying af, and I have always lived in a downtown urban setting and they most certainly are not drowned out.

I love them, they remind me of my grandma who had dozens of them outside her house. When I lived in my condo I never hung one because I didn't want to bother my neighbors. Once I moved to the country one of the very first "fun" things I ever did in my yard was hang up two wind chimes which were given to me as gifts.

I hate them with a white hot passion. Our previous neighbors behind us had a large set that were super loud. I told DH I was going to go over there and wrap them in bubble wrap.

Hate. Also have never seen an attractive version that I would want to hang, so no temptation in that area!

I enjoy the ones that have a soft, soothing sound. I hate the high pitched "tink, tink" sound and the ones that are low, baritone notes. But give me a pretty melody and I'm good.

The cheap ones from most stores are obnoxious. But there’s these really nice-looking ones that have a more soft, hollow chime to it that sounds nice. But I hate anything repetitive...so unless I’m passing through, I hate those, too.

We live out in the country where our nearest neighbor is a couple miles away. We have the Quartal Contrabass windchimes hanging in the trees of our shelter belt. The chime is BIG, over 9' tall, so it doesn't move much. But, when they do, it sounds like a big cathedral's chimes. I love the deep tone, reminds me of mass when I was younger. You can listen to there on their website. www.musicofspheres.com/windchimes/

Those Music of the Spheres wind chimes all sound amazing. Mine are Woodstock wind chimes. But whenever we're finally able to move out of the city, I want a big cathedral bell style set of wind chimes too. We live out in the country where our nearest neighbor is a couple miles away. We have the Quartal Contrabass windchimes hanging in the trees of our shelter belt. The chime is BIG, over 9' tall, so it doesn't move much. I really like them. We live far from neighbors/other noises and they are nice to hear when there is a breeze.

My parents live in the city. Their neighbor has an annoying dog that barks constantly. In retaliation, because they neighbor did nothing when my parents talked to them about the dog, my parents put up chimes ALL along the side of the house that faces their house. It’s awesome. Dog barks, wind chimes go, pisses off the dog so it barks more. The more wind, the louder the chimes are.
When I lived there, we had ONE chime and it was a nice copper pipe one that my dad made.

Depends......the tinkling kind, HATE, HATE
The deep tones that sound like church chimes.....I like, but not love.
Years ago we had the kind that sound like church chimes with deep tones. We went on vacation and asked neighbors to watch the house. When we came back they had taken the chimes down. I took the hint and never put them up again.
