I'm in between. While I actually like the sound of the wind chime itself, if there's an occasional breeze and it get's activated, then it's nice...BUT if it's a windy day and they are getting blown around and constantly making a sound and the bits are banging into each other that I'm definitely on the 'hate' side. I’m in this camp!

I'm not a fan. I don't mind the odd tinkle, but the constant sound in the breeze would drive me crazy. Hate. It’s like people who have actual clocks with hands. Dear god. Doesn’t it drive you to the brink of insanity? Can’t you hear it all.the.time.every.second.it.never.stops.why.would.you.do.that.to.yourself? Because it was my Dad's grandfather clock, his prized possession. My brother actually has ownership of the clock, but is between permanent homes right now so I am babysitting it for him. The tick/tock is very quiet on this clock, and I even tend to tune out the quarter hour chime melody if I'm watching TV or concentrating on something. Unless I'm really listening for it, I can't hear the rythmic ticks. I find it soothing...

Love them. I have a LOT of them, so I change them out every so often. Mine are inside and you have to bump them when they are still. In the summer they sound beautiful when the windows are open and there’s a breeze. If it’s really windy some times it just sounds like noise and then I silence them. I don’t hang mine outside any more because I live in an apt complex and my next door neighbor hated them.

HATE them.
Why people think it is okay to inflict their noises on others, I will never understand.
To me wind chimes, barking dogs, loud music played outside, constant revving of your motorcycle at 5am... all the same and all equally loathsome.
The store I worked in sold wind chimes and they were the most hated item in the store by our staff. People HAD to pick them up and wave them around and then giggle and say, "Wow, I bet you all hate that, don't you? Tee hee!" Then do it again. I met some of my old coworkers for lunch recently and one of them reminisced about the time I had a customer who bought a wind chimes from me and waved them around me saying, "Bet you hate it, bet you hate it, bet you --- " and then stopped abruptly, when I reached out and grabbed them around the middle to silence them. I said, "Yes, I do. Thanks for asking."

Not a huge fan I guess, I never had the desire to have one. I do think of living on some farmland, nice and peaceful with a pretty low sounding one.. seems divine...

Love them! It makes me sad that so many don't like them! We have a beautiful set hanging on our front porch, I love hearing them. We got them as a housewarming present from my ILs when we bought our house

neither. they just exist.
the noise doesn't thrill me, nor does it make me wanna rip it down and smash it to bits.
i do agree about the ticking clock though... i would want to smash that to bits (or at least unplug/unwind/make it stop).
