I’ll bite. I closed out my browser last week for several days after the grocery disinfecting thread. I just can’t handle the sky is falling attitude some people have. Yesterday I came back and decided to post some more but was again slapped over the head with ignorance, stupidity, and ridiculous claims about a virus that we “know nothing about”. I remember back in the 2000s, something was getting sent through the mail, sars or something equally as terrible. My then husband was so paranoid. I just can’t live my life like that. So today I’m doing an actual hair flip the fuck out. I know the precautions I’m taking in my home and with my family are correct and responsible. But I spend way too much time here, reading vitriolic posts about politicians, people in the same manner as the ones they hate. It’s not healthy for anyone. So peace out y’all. ETA I’ve been a pea since 2001, when Jack was born. If that matters. Julie5, I get it. I do, about the wholensky is falling freak out posts. Do what is best for you. Do what you need to stay healthy not only physically but mentally as well. That is very important. As far as hairflips, I rate this a 1.5. We've had better.

I think you're stuck with me. People here have been much meaner and more hateful to me than anywhere in my life, ever. I've also gotten enough guidance, entertainment, and education her to balance it out. If I were going anywhere it would have happened already. Steph, you are one of my favorite peas! You have always shown such grace here and your huge heart is apparent when you post. I’m so sorry that people have been mean to you. I haven’t seen those posts because I’m sure I would have said something. I hate it when women attack each other when you can just as easily respectfully disagree and move on. I’m glad you are here.

I hope when things calm down you will consider returning. You will be missed.

I thought I'd bump this for those who may have missed it the first time. Also, I'm not sure if I ever read the WHOLE thing, so I'm going to now. I'm confused. Why did you bump this thread? I remember this thread the first time, but I don't know what I'm missing. Also, what does this thread have to do with Lainey leaving?

Damn it julie5 don't go. Maybe you can practice the fine art of ignoring the threads you don't like, or perhaps you will come back when this shit settles.

julie5 I understand why you are leaving and hope you'll want to come back sometime. I've decided it's best to limit my interactions to fluff threads and leave any thread if they become combative or political.

I enjoy being challenged, and I appreciate the diversity here. I probably would leave if there wasn't a scrapbooking messageboard though, because that is what I really love. (Even though every time I am on there I open my wallet or get in the car to go to TM, lol!!-not anymore though) When I have come to the NSBR board with an issue, I have had people who agree with me and people who challenged the way I thought about something. I had an English teacher one time that said my thesis was only as strong as the biggest attack it could defend, so in that way I would rather have my viewpoints challenged and questioned and have strong respectful discussion rather than people just patting my ego. (unlike a certain leader of a certain free world ) If I see a thread that will really upset me, I just don't get into it. That has been rare.
