Vinyl bank zip pouches for at school so I know which money is mine without having to have the secretary open every damn bag in the safe. (And of course it’s upside down! Wonder if it’s because I’m using my iPad in lefty mode?) (images deleted to save space)

I may have to make this one now that I see how lovely yours is. It's one of the easiest patterns I've ever done. And it's so nice and squishy!

It's one of the easiest patterns I've ever done. And it's so nice and squishy! I love that!!!! Can you share where there pattern is from? CAL ladies- I did it. I am DONE with the squares!!!!!! I wanted to do a happy dance yesterday. DH wasn't quite sure why I was so excited lol My 2yr old "helped" me lay out the squares to get them in the rows, then I started joining the squares. I have 6 done, boring but seemed to go quickly. Looking forward to working more tonight on it.

I've finished the first week of Attic 24's Dahlia CAL. The yarn colors are really bright! This new spike stitch is really fun to crochet. Rhythmic but not boring. I'm enjoying this CAL a lot!

Yes, that's it. It's so simple. You can order the wool kit from Wool Warehouse. It's in the UK, but takes less than 2 weeks to arrive, shipping of not much, and, the price is right even with the exchange.

I have the kit, but won't start it until I finish my current WIP. The colours of the Dahlia are scrumptious!

This is going to have to be my next quilt now I have successfully joined 3 and a half rows of my CAL. SO proud of myself lol Only did half a row last night since I was so tired that I first started the 4th row on the wrong end, took it all apart, started again, and realized that the squares I was joining were backwards. So took that apart. Started again but was too tired and just packed it all up for the evening.

Has anyone done Annie's Kit Club? There's a crochet project I'm really considering. It seems rather expensive, though.

That is the one that started me crocheting It seems expensive, but I thought that it was worth it as not knowing a thing about crochet at the time. They have written patterns as well as a fantastic video for each month.

I have nothing but recycled cards to share, so I'm going to have a quick bow down at the altars of all you amazing crafters, and share this, which made me laugh properly.

I have just made this little storage bag using a 6in embroidery hoop . It can be removed from the hoop which is an added bonus fabric has cats on it. This pattern came from a book by Debbie Shaw called Sew Useful and her other book I got for Christmas is Sewing room accessories. At the moment I have special lace for my mini makes in there. The bag has squared off corners . Might make a nice present for a crafter with some notions inside.

I love seeing so many different and fantastic crafts...love this thread every month. These are a few of the things I cross-stitched in November and December. I'm good at stitching new things, but not so great about following through and turning them into ornaments. The Santa was a magazine freebie kit, so he was easy to finish off since the red hoop came with it. The polar bear and snowman were also freebie kits, and they fit into cards made for them. The gingerbread house and Mr and Mrs Santa are in their permanent hoops, I just need to trim and finish the backs. And I think I may paint tiny hoops in bright colors to frame the small black images. One of my stitching goals for 2020 is to finish off all the many small images I stitched for fall, Halloween and Christmas, so when those seasons roll around again I'll have my cute things ready to display.

HELPING AUSTRALIAN BUSHFIRE ANIMALS
I know many of us crafters are also animal lovers. If you would like to knit, crochet, or sew some specific items such as birds nests, Joey pouches, bat wraps, etc for the thousands of injured animals in Australia, there are a few FB groups who are organising, creating, collection, and mailing. Australia is the ‘Animal Rescue Crafters Guild
USA is American Rescue Crafters Connect
There’s also a British/Europe one but I can’t remember the exact name.
The patterns and instructions are all in the files for each group. There are also hubs in each state to send or deliver your items. Other people are trying to raise shipping funds and/or contacting relevant transport companies.

My friend tells me there is a collection point in our village and the next village over. For the UK group, check Facebook for UK crafters for Australian animal rescue effort.

I am going to start a new craft hobby this month. I know I want to try embroidery but I am waiting on that a bit because I have something specific in mind for my first project and I can’t get it right now.
So I am debating between knitting and crochet. I was watching beginner tutorials and reading opinions about each trying to decide which might be better for me/what I like more/ease of learning on own. Any opinions?
I am going to make a scarf- a chunky one preferably. I would probably only do scarves and blankets - I would love to do a hat, etc but it seems too complicated!

I finished my Attic24 Dune blanket and a continuous granny square throw. I’ve got yarn kits for two more blankets on their way from Wool Warehouse so I pushed to finish these.

I crochet SO much faster than I knit even though I’ve only been crocheting for a few years but learned to knit as a teenager. Once I got the hang of it (yay for YouTube!) I have found crocheting much easier.
