Can someone help me justify (or not) $60 worth of stamps from Kerri Bradford? It’s 2 6x8 sets and 1 4x6 set. They are all pretty timeless — alphas and dates. So I would use them throughout the year, multiple times. I am not on a budget, so much as I feel like I shouldn’t be buying more scrapbook stuff right now, lol. You are supporting a business. It's almost your duty to buy those stamps. How's that?

joblackford do hope your Mum’s birthday present gets through! It did! Just a day late. She said they spotted a guy in gloves and a mask running down the driveway after dropping the box at their door! Another story for the coronavirus diaries.

I haven’t really purchased much this year, except the KP sale and my monthly kit from KP. Today, I went on ACOT’ to check my cherry points and I had 2,700+ points just sitting. I also noticed two unique 15% off codes in my account. So, I went for it with the Crate Paper “Magical Forest” line. I was shocked when it was $46 for almost the entire collection. -signed, A Chilly Cherry Picking Pea
P.S. Definitely check to see if you have a code as it works on the entire order.

Is anyone going back in the freezer for the summer? Or is it the season to shop? I’m trying to use all the new crap I bought in the name of “supporting small businesses” during the pandemic before I buy any more stuff. I haven’t been very inspired to make much lately, so I’ve been chilling...

I haven’t been very inspired to make much lately, so I’ve been chilling... I need to. I’ve purchased a lot of fun new stuff, have quite a few projects going, and I’m totally and completely unmotivated. The good news is that I was even unmotivated to look at new items at scrapbook.com.

I have bought a lot this year and just don’t need to add any more right now. I’ve been scrapping much more than usual while SIP but buying at an even faster rate. So it’s time to just chill and scrap for a while. I’m going to spend some time gathering up my newest supplies so I can make sure to get started using them before they start to become forgotten in my stash.

I really haven't come out of the freezer -I've bought adhesive, white/black/red cardstock, and page protectors and that's it. And sadly there doesn't seem to be much of a dent in my stash...

I haven't been creating much lately, but unfortunately this lapse in interest hasn't extended to the shopping part. I received a new album this week, and of course I added a couple of other things to my order to justify the shipping cost. Then there's a new cocoa vanilla line shipping at the end of July and I know I'm going to have no willpower once I see that appear in the online stores, so I think I'll still be buying a bit here and there for the foreseeable future although I really shouldn't be.

I purchased stuff from Kelly Purkey's birthday + clearance sales as well as several rolls of adhesive. Both of these purchases were planned and I stuck to my budget. Still, I don't need more stuff for the time being. I'm good to go back in the freezer now.
The positive aspect is that I've been using the new KP goodies I've already received. Not hoarding but diving right in and making the most of it. Scrapbooking has been a major part of keeping my sanity during this pandemic so I've been productive. I have plenty enough to continue creating for a while. I'm all set!

I haven’t been very inspired to make much lately, so I’ve been chilling... I haven't gone hog wild, but haven't denied myself either. Everything I've bought through the past few months, I've used at least some of. I still need to buy both 8.5x11" & 12x12" page protectors, because I've used nearly my whole stash.

I did use a good part of my stash, although DH would deny it!
But, lately I've been shopping. I blame COVID and the lack of entertainment after 4 months at home. I also subscribed to FJ again, after a long break.

I broke my spending freeze pretty hard the last week. I had been doing really well. I bought some Kelly Purkey stuff and the latest felicity Jane kit. I also bought some stuff from feed your craft and I fully plan to buy more stuff in the upcoming release. I do really well on my freeze for a couple months and then go nuts. The thing is I have really honed in on what I want versus just buying to buy. I don’t go to Michaels or Tuesday morning just to browse. And I put all my new stuff in one area and try to use it right away. There is no point in hoarding it for another day so I can decide I hate it.

I've gone absolutely crazy the past 2 months, so as of today, I'm frozen. It's been a tough day - haha! Trying super super hard, but given the lockdown it is super difficult. The good part is I have been using a ton of my stash and using all the items, so I'm not feeling like I'm just buying and hoarding.
A couple months back, I started to pull a bunch of items I want to use the coming week (typically the new items). Be it a technique (foiling, embossing, etc) or a new stamp set or die. I try to limit myself to those items, but pull it other items if needed (ribbon, buttons, etc), but the core is from the pile. I got the idea from someone on Instagram - but the items they pull are for the month. I'm just trying to use recently purchased items, so do it weekly. I've found great success by doing this. Although, it has created a "wish list" of things I want.
It is quite rewarding to get to the end of the week and the pile be empty!

I've gone absolutely crazy the past 2 months, so as of today, I'm frozen. Boy, do I feel that! I'm glad to see this thread resurrected. I was thinking of asking if anyone wanted to do a freeze/chill at the start of July but that came and went, so I'd like to plan ahead for stepping into the fridge in August. I can't quite freeze because I am in a couple of hostess clubs/subscriptions, but I am going to try to limit myself to that.

I'm limiting myself to organization needs as I'm in the middle of a redo of storage. Trying to make them more available and not stored away (out of sight, out of mind = unused). So while I'm doing my clean up, I'm purging as well. It's been fun to find old things - some I keep and use right away, others I'm going to donate. I am just overwhelmed with product.

I did break my frozen status this past Spring by buying some items for DS school album and graduation. I hope to eventually need to print out more photos if I ever get my act together and start regularly scrapbooking again. But for now I'm back in the freezer and plan to stay there.

I do have a list going of a few items I want, but I'm actually feeling like I can wait on them still.

And I still have a lot of things that I bought this year and haven't had the mojo to use. That just makes me feel bad, which saps even more energy... so in some ways it's easier to stay chilled. There's one little organizer I want, and when I buy that I'm going to end up putting a bunch of stickers in my cart from the same shop, and although I want to support that small business I just keep procrastinating. How's your organizing going? I love the goal of getting things visible so they can be used.

How's your organizing going? I love the goal of getting things visible so they can be used. My organizing is going really well. I have found that I'm organizing better as I'm being more productive in my room. In the past I was organizing when not working on things, so didn't really know what I needed close or not, or what category, etc. So since I've been so active in my room, its helped a ton to know what to organize and how! I've done a bunch of purging and now need to sort thru it all and see if I can try to sell some of it and what I should donate. I would love to donate to a place that I know would use it all, not to a goodwill type place. I have looked at every 12x12 patterned paper I own. Now I know what I have, and the plan is to categorize them. I've decided not to do by manufacturer - but theme. i.e. masculine, love, florals...but I'm still working on the categories. But overall I'm happy with the progress I've made.

July was a very spendy month after being cooped up all that time. I finally got the chance to go to the “local” scrapbook store (1hr+ each way). I’m back to frozen now except for adhesive.

I've given up on being frozen, with being stuck at home. I am much more selective about what I buy, however. I'm more likely to pick and choose select papers from a collection, instead of buying the whole thing.

I’ve been creating some, but only about a layout a week, and I need to do way more than that to make a dent. And Christmas is my weakness, so I will have a hard time resisting each new release and kit! I like the idea of trying to either do a certain number of LOs before I buy, or trying to work with the new stuff right away, while I am excited about it and before it makes it into my stash!

I'm more likely to pick and choose select papers from a collection, instead of buying the whole thing. I think that’s a good strategy. Picking and choosing the things you know you’re most likely to use. I think a lot of us get into trouble when we buy it all, or feel like we have to have the whole set! I think it’s harder for me to use things if it’s complete too. Like, it’s perfect, so it’s harder to just start cutting and sticking. Is that just me?

I SHOULD want to use it all as soon as I get it home (kind of like clothes - if I don’t want to cut the tags off and wear it home am I really that excited about the purchase?) I bought some stuff earlier this year that I still haven’t used - stamps and dies. I really need to crack them open and give them a go. I’m starting to get a complex about it, and I spent too much money to never even use them! I had to have them, so why haven’t I used them?!

I haven't bought anything in a while. I'm waiting for SB.com to have Hey Santa from Crate Paper and The Avenue from Pebbles in stock to place an order, mostly ephemera packs and some cardstock. I've accepted my fate as a boring, minimalist-ish documenter.

Joining from here through the end of the year. I shouldn’t even need adhesive. The exception is the monthly virtual crop through Victoria Marie - it’s $8 and 2 1/2 with tons of motivation and prizes. I’ll keep that because I’ll use my stuff!
