Welcome to a new week. I'm starting it out w/chicken tortilla soup. W/a full house I'm going to cook bigger meals, again.
What's on your menu?
If you eat like an asshole or even if you don't, what is your go-to nosh (snack food)? I would if I could.
I would probably lean twds something like Flips or Reeses. On the other hand, I never met a Keebler cookie I didn't love. Maybe it's a good thing I can't.
As we get through another weird week, keep doing your nurturing or fun thing each day. Doing both is even better. Don't panic. Play instead.

DH and I are going to take a hike to a nearby lake. DS has been up since 6:45 working hard at his job. Chicken Divan is for dinner. ETA: Our snack eating habits haven't changed at all. Well, they haven't for me. DS brought a box of Girl Scout Cookies and a big bag of chips with him. These made me laugh:

Good afternoon. I feel good today. I've been home and so productive. Working. Cleaning on my lunch hour. I think I've been more productive today than I was all weekend. christine58 homemade popcorn on the stove with real butter is the only way I will eat it. Microwave popcorn is the pits. I'm a chocoholic. There is always a bag of dove chocolates stashed around my house. Tonight we will finish up the Coney meat with Coney dogs and I will make some of my rosemary parmesan cauliflower to go along with it. Happy day ladies!

Happy Monday ladies! Another week of finding our new norm.
This is my last week of work at my current job. I have two interviews lined up for this week, so hoping I have an offer before the economy completely shuts down. I'm perfectly ok with a deferred start date. I have a long to do list that Ideally I could accomplish before I start a new position.
DH is at the ranch for a few days, so I'm on my own for dinner. I think I'll bake a sweet potato and top it with black beans.
Hang in there everyone! Take a walk, read a book or just breathe deep for yourself!

We went for a long hike yesterday and discussed our dinner plans for the week. I saw pigs flying as it was the first time in a 39-year marriage that my husband has even mentioned helping to plan a meal. He's the type that would eat a can of corn and stale white bread as long as there was butter to put on both of those. I do not feed him Brussels sprouts, tapioca, sweet potatoes, or raw onions. Now, all of a sudden, he is interested in our food choices. When we got home, he went down to the deep freeze and took out everything and put it in dedicated coolers. We have two very, very large coolers and two just large as he is a fisherman. Plus, as a member of the dinner tribe, there are meals and various items we (well, I) just have to have at the ready. Frozen berries and spinach are among those items. He then reorganized the freezer, came upstairs, and made a spreadsheet of all of our items. Pigs were now multiplying so fast I stopped counting them. We (AAAAUUUUGGGGHHHH) have not decided what to eat. There's always the frozen soup (12 jars) and a grilled cheese and ham sandwich. Simple is best, but there's gonna be a come-to-Jesus meeting in our den later on this evening. Thanks for the thread. Stay safely inside. Be thinking of your scribe and pray that she does NOT throw a cast iron frying pan at her beloved.

Cool and wet here! Another storm rolled in last night. Right now the sun is peeking out a bit.
I am going to fix muffins and soup! Most likely vegetable soup. Mmmm

Oh and snack...well it used to be peanutbutter cups. But since becoming highly allergic to all nuts, it is now my GF brownies. Fudgy, delicious, salty sweet goodness.
I think I need to bake some more today!

I just finished a faculty meeting via Google Hangouts. It was fun to see all my fellow teachers sitting at home. We got information on exactly how the county wants us to handle distance learning. Even tho I'm not a classroom teacher, I'm preparing weekly resources and reports. I may even do an online book club with some grade levels. Yes, the new normal. As of now, there is no firm date to get back to school.
It's cool and rainy today, although by Wednesday it will be 80 degrees, so I'm making Matzo Ball soup. At lucyg home that might mean made from scratch. At my house, I open a box of Manischewitz Soup mix. Honestly, it's really good!
Off to work on some more resources for teachers to share with students. I miss the kids, but I could get used to this working from home. My cats make awesome colleagues!

We cancelled our hike. The clouds started rolling in and it got really windy. When I hike by the lake I want it to be sunny and calm. DS said if it isn't raining this afternoon, he'll take a nice walk with us on his break. He is a very diligent employee and they reward him well. I think I told y'all that on your 5th anniversary with the firm they give you $1500 towards your next vacation. Nice perk.

It was fun to see all my fellow teachers sitting at home. DS has enjoyed his remote meetings ~ and his virtual happy hour last Friday. He says it's funny when you can hear kids playing in the background or dogs walking around.

Not sure whether to laugh or run for the hills at the thought of a freezer spreadsheet and DH's sudden interest in meal planning. I've been eating like an asshole for the last few weeks, including foods I shouldn't be like dairy and bread. We have confirmed beyond any doubt my body has a negative reaction to both. My go-to snack food has always been something salty/crunchy: potato chips, tortilla chips, Hawkins Cheezies, etc. Dinner is fend for yourself. I'll have chili and skip the tortilla chips.

We have some brat patties in the freezer that will be tonight's dinner. I will make potato wedges to go with now that I finally have potatoes! The order for non-essential businesses for our state will be signed tomorrow. I am hoping I can work from home instead of absolutely no work. They have laptops ready, now it's all about who is going to get one. I mean, I would think I would get one as I do pretty much all the accounting, but then who knows. LOL Oh, my asshole snack would be anything that is bad for you. You will not catch me snacking on carrots. Preferably chocolate, but I am not picky.

It’s cold and windy, and I have come down with a cold. Other than walking the dog as little as possible, I’m staying inside with tea and chocolate. Still made dinner: homemade pizza.

I think that I am going to make a sheetpan dinner. I noticed some veggies languishing in the drawer that need to get used up. I am trying to focus on eating more veggies instead of my assholian eating pattern of chips, frozen pizza, and ice cream.
Yesterday the sun was shining and we took advantage of it and went for a walk. The only "people" we saw were a squirrel and a few birds.
Today I would like to start a puzzle or work on some scrapbooking.

desertgirl, I have "when pigs fly" socks. My sons got them for me last year. Shall I send them to your dh? tuesdaysgone, dh's CEO is encouraging employees to post photos and videos of their families and pets. If your child or pet comes to your workspace then you're supposed to introduce them to everyone. I've seen some really sweet stuff. The CEO hosts an online update every now and then and he includes his children. Last week they made spaghetti together. Though I've always liked dh's company culture, this just proves it's an awesome place to work. When this first started the CEO reminded everyone that families and pets won't be used to employees wfh, so don't worry about professionalism. Put family first and work 2nd. He's a cool guy. Let's try and make the best of a bizarre situation.

Tonight we will be having beef stew. I already had the ingredients and the meat is thawing. I will make it sometime this afternoon. I sure hope it was as good as the last time. It calls for 2c of red wine. We might be eating early as I am hungry thinking about it! I think I need bread. I have to find the bread maker and experiment. I used to make tons of bread in Japan. We ate rice sometimes but my son’s father liked bread and pasta a lot. Mostly pasta though.

Hey ladies! I haven't been around much but hope you're all doing well amid the craziness.
Today was the kids' first day of online learning. They all had quite a bit of work assigned and all 3 worked out. I've done some laundry and made everyone lunch.
Dinner tonight is supposed to be grilled pork chops but it's snowing. And we're supposed to get 6-8 inches. Ugh. Thankfully it'll be short lived. So pork chops, rice pilaf, and broccoli.

It's been a busy day here so far. DH is sequestered in his office on meetings, which is a good thing because he has come down with the dreaded Man Cold. Some people just have to be different! Day 2 of taking a walk in the neighborhood with the dog. We lasted 20 min. The weather feels like August, hot & humid. He's bred for bird hunting in cool weather so 20 min. is his maximum this time of the year. Went to Central Market to stock up on fresh produce and fruit this morning. Was surprised to have to stand in my first grocery store line! They had everyone spaced out and were letting us in when others left. The shelves were well stocked, except no paper goods, and I was able to find everything I needed as well as a few things for DD. There were big stickers on the floor in the meat and fish departments, as well as at checkout that were to keep people spaced appropriately. Everyone was adhering to that, as well as social distancing on all the other aisles. I wore my disposable gloves, then once in the car I peeled them off and wiped down anything I'd touched as well as my phone that had been out in the store. Once home, I wiped all the groceries down before I put them away and then washed my hands. Lots more steps to shopping now! But it probably one of the best shopping experiences I've had in a long time! Dinner tonight is rechauffe. There is pork tenderloin and roasted veggies or chicken/wild rice soup I made last night.

We are ordering pizza from a local shop to support their delivery business. We've had chocolate chip cookies to snack on. Last night I was craving a peanut butter parfait from DQ. Dh went through the drive thru for me. I had a headache so he is so nice to accommodate me. He's not all bad.😅

A friend of mine just bought a house in Arizona and moved in yesterday. Today they found packs of toilet paper and paper towels on their porch from neighbors welcoming them to the neighborhood. How cool is that?

Hi Everyone!
Sending hugs and prayers to all of you. I have been snacking so bad. Today our governor announced that schools will not be open until after Easter.
Tonight is Sloppy Joe’s and salad. I will also make broccoli for ODS.
