we don't have any masks so if they require you to wear them, where would you get them? You make them.

No. For now we will save them for dh and his coworkers.
If he becomes sick, then we will revisit that, but it would be in our home.

People are saying everyone is wearing them now. If they didn’t have them a couple days ago where did they get them now. My husband found some gloves but there are only a few pairs left. We may have a few masks from fires 16 years ago. No idea if they would still be good even though at this point.
I guess I know what we will have extra of after this calms down.

If we have to leave the house we will wear our N95/99 masks. We did not take them away from any first responders or medical professionals, we already had them from previous times of need. Nobody is accepting donations of used masks or masks not still sealed in original packaging, so they are ours to use.

That’s what I’m planning for DH to go over his mask until we can get some made. So I was just on Amazon and the shipping times are the 9th at the earliest that I could find. So if you want some you might want to order ASAP. Do you need me to send you two handmade fabric AB masks, dewryce ? Really!?! I’m not crying. You’re crying. What a kind offer, thank you!

I don't go out except for walks around the neighborhood. Anyone in this house who has to go to the store must go early(not during senior/compromised/disabled hours) and wear gloves and a mask.

I don’t know about others, but we’ve always had some. They are from old painting projects. I just never thought to wear them until this week, when things started to get worse. They are old and the bag has already been open. They are also not the N95 ones. But I figure it is better than nothing. I also put a scarf over it.

I ordered one from www.orucase.comI don’t know how long it will take to get here, but I don’t have to leave the house for another 9 days.

I saw the low key news about this a couple of days ago and ordered some cloth ones and some a small box of some generic medical ones. We have a couple of old ones from painting if it comes to that

Yes, I have three. My mom and aunts are making them. I'll probably get more. I just got these today (porch pick up at my aunt's).
I will totally wear them. DD would, if she were going anywhere. But she has health issues and is at higher risk so she's only going on neighborhood walks (and is SO bored).
Dh will not wear them. Maybe he'll change his mind, but he is saying no for now.

So far, no. There have been no positive tests in our county yet and only 1 (or 2?) in the county where I do my shopping. I just stay away from people as much as I can (not easy because every aisle had a curbside shopper with a giant cart). Walmart employees are not wearing masks or gloves or anything while they fill curbside orders. We've had more than our share of people who have died in our county. I believe four of them were all bridge players at the same tournament in the city and another three or four were all from the same nursing home. I wonder if that makes more people feel a little safer (not that it should). I did see people in Safeway today all stocking shelves with gloves on.

I can’t remember which shopping channel ( not qvc or hsn) I was looking at but they were selling 5 masks ( not the N95/99 masks) for 7.99 plus 3.99 shipping. That seems like price gouging, is it?

For those having issues finding them....all the the WMs around me have a note posted saying you can get them in the pharmacy dept but you have to ask for them. You’re limited to 5pks and each pack has 4 masks in a pack. So maybe check your pharmacy.

There is a city ordinance in Texas that threatens a $1000 fine for not covering your mouth and nose and instructs everyone to make a mask of what they have available at home. Everyone has the means to make some kind of face covering.

Yes, I’ve been making lots for our local essential workers. I’ve also mage three for me as I’m the shopper. A lady asked to buy one for her grocery store worker DH on our sub division FB page. I made him 5 this morning. I got a bunch of other requests from people who just wanted them to go shopping. Umm, no, I’m making them for essential workers only.

Not yet, but I have a couple coming. So far, I’ve been pretty comfortable when I go out, but if I have to go back to our Walmart, I will wear one for sure, unless they change how they are doing things. Ours is nothing like the video they have on their FB page. I was very uncomfortable there yesterday.

I'm hoping to get a few projects done this week and then I hope to make some masks. I'll keep some for myself/family (although I'm the official errand runner) and hopefully find a place that I can send them to.

I don’t know if I’ll wear one. I don’t have the N95 but I have a couple different kinds of the generic ones you can buy at places like Walgreen's. I bought them for my husband when he was on chemo and doing yard work still. We only used a couple of each kind. I think they are in the downstairs bathroom. And I think I also have a box of nitrile gloves. I’ve seen more people like cashiers wearing gloves than masks so far. Although I think people make a lot of mistakes when wearing gloves.

DH has been wearing one since January, any time he steps out of the house. Luckily he does have a medical grade mask. His oncologist suggested he wears it.
I've been wearing one for a few days + disposable gloves (had a box leftover from giving him IV antibiotic treatments) that I change often. I fear bringing the virus home to him. His immune system is <0 and he just got over 2 blood infections and sepsis (and a bad UTI).
SIDENOTE: Do any people who mainly breathe from their mouths have a hard time wearing masks? I feel like I'm ductaped and kidnapped every time I put mine on. I have to use my rescue inhaler when I get in my car. (I have asthma, COPD & allergies).

So far, no. But I've only been out of the house to wander the property.
I am thinking I will when I have to venture out Tuesday for my infusion appointment. I usually look forward to visiting Madison because my DD lives there. This time, not so much. The highlight of my trip will be when I do a drive by of DD's place and throw some stuff out for them and their place. I'm thankful DD has good roomies especially now. DD works as elderly caretaker and won't come near me because I'm immunosuppressed.
I know many are in the same boat. Sucks, doesn't it?

I haven’t yet, but I also haven’t left the house to go anywhere except our mailbox across the street since March 13. I’m going to have to make a Target run in the next week or so for cereal and the canned stuff my kid likes to eat that she can make independently and I think I want one before I go. I made one of the AB masks for my friend who is a Shipt shopper and didn’t think it was too hard, but it did take me about 45 minutes. At that rate I don’t have time to mass produce them to donate but I could take a couple hours on a weekend to make a few for my own family members. DH hasn’t been wearing one but that might change if more people start wearing them or if the CDC recommends everyone does. Maybe if I make him one out of camo print fabric he would wear it, LOL.

DH and I wore masks for the first time yesterday to the grocery store. About 50% of people over 40 were wearing them. 0% under 40 were wearing them.

I was reading something earlier today where the doctor said they would provide some protection for ourselves, and that they do serve as a good reminder not to touch your face which is of course super important when you’re out of the house.

Yes when I go to the grocery store (which isn't often). I'm in the US and see lots of people wearing masks now. There are great tutorials online for how to make them using bandanas, fabric, any type of material, etc. You can also buy one off etsy (this is what I did). This is a great explanation of why we all should be wearing masks in public: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkN8yCWSGus

I might be able to borrow something DH has in the garage for when he uses his table saw. I REALLY do not like wearing things over my nose and mouth though, so the urge to rip it off asap will be strong
