So you're all supposed to be wearing masks but Trump said he won't because "It's not for me, it's just not when I'm meeting Presidents and Prime Ministers, Kings and Queens..." Except he won't be will he, because no international dignitaries are travelling

I just got back from wearing mine for the first time--drive-thru dinner. You come so close to the person handing you the food. I also had my hosiery bag with me to carefully remove the mask when I got into the garage. Then tossed the bag in the laundry.

Patter , your eyes are such a pretty color. Awe, thank you. They actually change color. If I have on makeup and am wearing blue, they will be really blue. Or, if I am wearing green, they will be really green. They are blue/gray naturally but really do change (according to others anyway).

I found a couple of bandanas and scarfs if we need to go out. I also have a box of dust masks for cleaning the garage, but I'd like to keep those for cleaning the garage.
Haven't left my house in a week except to walk the dog and/or get the mail so I don't feel I need anything special

Oh! We have those! Thanks! My husband has some in the garage! But we don't own a sewing machine, so we will have to use the bandana and rubber bands!

Here is a study that was just done on fabrics for masks. I have been making them for family and people that need them. I think this has great info on fabrics. www.newswise.com/articles/testing-shows-type-of-cloth-used-in-homemade-masks-makes-a-difference-doctors-sayAnd yes, I am wearing a mask I made when I go to pickup groceries or medications. I don't go in the store. I only do drive-thru or pickup. We walk every morning but do not wear masks then. We usually only run into one or two people, and we walk by with a large distance between us. Thank you for this! It is super helpful. I've got plenty of high quality tightly woven cotton quilting fabric here at home. Can anyone recommend a pattern?

I went to home depot (was already in town to take dd to work and get groceries) to get a box of the recommended shop towels. Went to check out and everyone with small items has to use the self checkout. Where they have handheld scan guns. So you can't scan things without holding this gun that dozens of people before you have used. I hated this new system before and I hate it even more now. Luckily I keep a little bottle of hand sanitizer on my purse.

Has anyone bought some online for a reasonable price? If not, I'll check some hardware stores on Monday.

I will if I have to go to the store but I am pretty well stocked for now. I ordered one from an online site but do not know when it will get here. I figure it can't hurt and I have thought all along that we should be wearing masks. I have also been washing my hands and trying not to touch my face but that is a hard one for me! I touch my face all the time! Glad that I am not leaving my house so less to worry about!

Thank you for sharing. I can use less twill, fits better, etc. The one I have been making fits really well but I like the ease of this one too. I may be changing to this pattern. Thanks!

If you know how to sew, look for the Olson pattern. Its a more fitted mask.

I tried adding a 2” piece of 1/8” elastic to the chin on the Olson mask for a tighter fit and it made it too tight. I gave it to a young nurse who is very petite and it fit her.

Since February for the purpose of keeping my hands off of my face in public places until I can get home to wash them. I double up on surgical masks and wear a buff over that and wear big sunglasses until my long paparazzi sun visor comes in.
Please watch this Dr. David Price interview on youtube. He has some important new information from working on the front line. He's made me less anxious. Worth the watch!!!
