I want to have something special for this Easter. Not having Holy Week services to attend has left me feeling dis-connected and drifting although DH and I have had home Tenebrae and Morning Prayer. So I am going to make Popovers for our lunch Sunday. Not only are they delicious, but such a good in home symbol of the Resurrection. What are you planning?

We actually ordered dinner from a restaurant as well as a breakfast bake. We haven’t ordered anything in 4 weeks. We go pick it up in about half an hour and will reheat it tomorrow for dinner. Looking forward to an easy dinner after roughy 897 night of making dinner in a row lol

Well, there is just me here. Which I prefer actually. My daughter is bringing my 2 dgd over to get their Easter Baskets outside from at least 6 feet. Then I will be making for myself the usual Easter Dinner ( baked ham, potatoes, deviled eggs, etc ) that I will eat on all week gladly. I’m trying to keep my usual routine as much as possible.

Since it will only be the 6 of us, I have decided not to do a traditional ham, as I don’t want to be eating it forever. I will be watching this thread, because I am feeling uninspired... I will make a carrot cake, I know that.

It will just be my dh and I. My one dd will stay in the cities, and the other nearby decided not to come over. She is taking the quarantine seriously. Which is fine, because if anyone is a carrier, it's me. So I ordered 1/2 a ham, and we cut it in two. we took half and dd took half. I LOVE having left over ham!! my dh and I can eat on it for wks! scalloped potatoes, egg bake, bean soup! all great comfort foods!

I am making our traditional Easter lunch - a lamb roast with all the trimmings. DH bought a German Easter bread for our dessert and there will be chocolate too. There’s enough lamb that we’ll be eating it for a couple of meals after Sunday.

I didn't really plan for it. But we have everything to make a big brunch, so that's what we're going to do for a holiday meal. Spinach frittata, hash browns, cinnamon rolls, and bacon.

We are doing prime rib that DH is cooking. Ill do some easy sides - Cesear salad, twice baked potatoes, and green beans. Dessert is a homemade cherry pie (both DS's favorites) and a cheesecake.

Just my DD18 and I here but I did our usual meal yesterday (DD is splitting time between my house and her father’s house so she will head to his place today)
I did baked ham with glaze, potatoes casserole (mashed with butter, sour cream, cream cheese and green onion), sweet potatoes with butter and brown sugar, broccoli with cheese sauce and corn. Just ice cream for dessert. I’m trying not to bake sweets/desserts as I just gobble them up lol.
It was all very yummy and I will take leftovers to SO as we are socially distancing.

I’m thinking a turkey breast, not quite sure on the sides, have requests for mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese. Probably asparagus and green beans. Rolls and carrot cake for sure.

I had bought a small turkey so I’m planning to make hot turkey sandwiches with turkey, bread, mashed potatoes and gravy poured over it all.

We're having ham - found a spiral cut one for 88 cents a pound last time I braved the stores. Should have bought more for the freezer.
Also making cheesy potatoes, pineapple casserole, asparagus, crescent rolls.
Delivering half of it to DD and SIL's porch. . .

Thank you! I’m having ham and a sweet potato casserole. Pineapple stuffing if I have enough pineapple. Oooh I have a little bit of bacon left from yesterday’s breakfast. I’ll crumble that and add it to peas. True story, which I just remembered - when my kids were little and hated peas, I started adding bacon bits to get them to eat them. And it worked! Now they eat them without.

Ham, pineapple casserole, green beans and Carvel bunny cake for dessert. I have no idea how we’ll finish off a 13 lb ham I see a lot of ham sandwiches in our future. Walmart pickup.

We never have done Easter dinner, we always did a big brunch with family when I was little. As an adult we started going out for brunch, I had made reservations before Valentine’s Day, but obviously those are cancelled. I was going to just eat Cadbury eggs for dinner and make my husband Peeps Pizza, but We have not gotten any take out since school ended on a March 13, so I think I will go pick up dinner tomorrow. I was hoping for some places to do pick up brunch, but there aren’t any options that don’t have things I can’t or won’t eat. There lots of ham things or vegetarian things that I can’t eat due to allergies. No big deal, we will get dinner from our favorite local spot. It will be extra delicious since I won’t have to cook or do dishes!

I ordered a ham when I did grocery pick up and they gave us a huge one! I was planning to use my Instant pot for the ham, but this thing is way too big. I will bake the ham in the oven instead. We usually do a hash brown casserole but I didn’t get the ingredients, so I think I will do some hassleback potatoes. I will also make some of the asparagus and green beans for veggies.
I making an Oreo cheesecake for dessert today so it’s ready for dinner tomorrow.

I managed to get lamb when I went shopping Thursday which is our traditional Easter meat. We'll have roasted potatoes and some of the veggies from my produce box - probably green beans and summer squash plus I picked up carrots so I'll cook some of those as well. An of course mint jelly for the lamb! I might try making gluten-free yorkshire pudding as well. The main thing missing will be rolls - we've always make crescent rolls in the past and they aren't gluten-free. I did spot a recipe recently for dinner rolls so I might try those if I'm feeling up to it.
Dessert will gluten-free Brownie Trifle -provided my children actually get around to making it.

I usually host Easter, but this year since it'll be just the 4 of us, we're skipping the ham and having burgers on the grill cheesy potatoes (I think some call them funeral potatoes??) pistachio salad and for dessert a cheesecake

We let the kids decide. DD is normally a vegetarian but she'll sometimes eat meat on special occasions. We're having roast beef, scalloped potatoes, grilled pineapple, asparagus, rolls, deviled eggs and pineapple upside down cake.

This year I'm trying something different - Coq au Vin. We have a cool front coming through tomorrow, so the weather will be perfect for it. Scalloped or mashed potatoes as a side, and some green beans perhaps. Not sure on dessert, either an angel food cake from a mix, or my pound cake from scratch. Either would be good with fresh berries, which I hope make it into my curbside order this afternoon.

We placed an order with our local allergy friendly restaurant because they were having a special event involving the local farms. It's in two parts so I can drop my parents meals off on their steps. I think my youngest will mostly be eating the macaroni and cheese!

We usually have my inlaws over for dinner and sometimes we order out. I don't think we have anything particular. I am not a fan of ham, so we have whatever I want to cook. Usually something I can make the day before and just heat up. They like us to go to their church, so we can't cook that morning. We took frozen shrimp out today, so we may have shrimp quesadillas today and something with shrimp tomorrow. So easy that I just have to worry about cooking for just the 5 of us. And my husband can grill shrimp! I get stressed coming up with meal ideas and cooking so I don't plan big holiday meals. But I love hosting if we can order out!

Doing the normal Easter dinner - ham, potatoes, veggies, cheesecake and strawberry shortcake.
With the exception of items not available at the grocery store, life is pretty normal here.

It's 5 of us, so fairly traditional Easter meal. Deviled eggs, black olives (no holiday goes without black olives for my kids), leg of lamb, and asparagus. This year we're doing scalloped potatoes and roasted carrots and radishes. I will probably get in to trouble by DS but I'm only making GF dinner rolls this year.
DH is suppose to make cream brule for our dessert (with the kids help, thank goodness or it might not be edible). We'll do gyros with the leftover lamb on Monday. I think DH, DS and I are always more excited about that than Easter dinner.

Easter isn’t a big thing for us, but I’ll try to make it nice. We’re going to have ham roll ups stuffed with spinach and mozzarella, with an orange butter sauce, scalloped potatoes, and asparagus. I hadn’t thought about dessert but I do have part of a frozen pound cake in the fridge so I think that’s what it will be, with resh strawberries.
