There’s so much yuck, let’s share some good news. I didn’t see if a thread was started lately so I’ll go first. Add yours! Big or small.
- I had shared back in 2018 that my bil was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. They didn’t offer much hope for the long haul. But now he is considered cancer free! Praising God.
- I’m on jailbreak! We’ve been quarantined for 2 weeks bc DD’s school shut down abruptly due to covid. Two weeks ended this morning. So glad to finally give my girl a great big hug!

My mom's 'cyst/blister' removed by the dermatologist is benign. Oh and the pool is currently being emptied so a new liner can go in!!!!

Both my coworkers that had confirmed Covid are going to be ok. One has returned to work and the other is doing much better--she had strep AND Covid.
I've been keeping to myself just in case but so far I'm feeling fine, it's been almost two weeks.

I love this!
My son is 31 and has Down syndrome. He has hip dysplasia and had a hip replacement last week. He’s doing so well! We’re so thankful and relieved.
He has to have another hip replacement in October and we can’t wait for him to feel better and be pain free!

My DH is pretty good at getting workers that are doing work at other people's houses to give him a good price on doing work at our house on their off time. We have a huge yard and DH has been doing a lot of clean-up in the yard and the garage. They are coming to take it all away this weekend! Yay!
Weekend Update: Bye bye trash!

I am fully functional and pain free now. I am happy for your son. My house is being painted as we speak and I am so happy. It was looking just awful. Now I am waiting to go outside and see the color. I am keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't make me want to vomit. It is either a color that I will love or I will have to pay the painter to do it over in another color.

My daughter had the bar under her rib cage removed last week and she is completely recovered and healed from the surgery. She had it placed four years ago and could have had it out last year but she was in Spain for a month and worked at a theme park 40 hours a week for the rest of the summer. So it was overdue to come out and they were able to fit her in before Christmas break, not knowing what the hospital situation would be like in December. So grateful to have that behind her as she starts college next month. (Next - tonsils and wisdom teeth need to come out!)

We are in escrow! We are moving to Charlotte NC and will be near my daughter, her kids, and my son. The house is enormous, and has a 1800 sq ft basement which will be my craft room!! Crazy!

Our son, 32, fell in love during the pandemic! He's a mountain guide and their first dates were socially distanced snow camping/snowboarding trips.
Feel super lucky that we've had a chance to "get to know her" a bit due to the videos on her professional website. Haven't so much as seen her on Zoom, but feel like we know her. And she's so dang lovable! They live far away, in another country, but I am a happy mama. DS has been very happy with his life, one of the happiest people I know, genuinely stoked about his life every day, but I had hoped he'd find someone to share it all with.

I finally pulled out my portable AC unit (I hate it because it's sooooo loud) and my office is now a very comfortable 75 degrees. Other than the noise, I'm in heaven! We won't talk about the temps in the rest of my place tho.... flanz I can hear the love and happiness in your post. It makes me very happy for them and you!

My daughter got her cosmetology license! It hasn’t been easy for her and I’m very proud. She starts at a salon tomorrow.

I just saw the color of my stucco and I love it! It is a weird purpley taupe and I knew it would either look like a clown house or it would look great. The sample that I painted on the house looked like there was a possibility that it would be too pink and I do NOT want a pink house, but I loved the paint swatch. I can finally relax. It took me two weeks of stewing over it before I had the guts to pull the trigger and call the painters. The color is SW Queen Anne Lilac. Turns out is is a rich color not garish. Yay!!

The kids in my neighborhood have been playing outdoors in their yards this summer. The happy sound of children laughing and playing is filling the air.

Good idea!
I have a few bits of good news. I have wanted to learn an ultra technical animation skill for years. Last week, my husband offered to teach me. I never, ever, thought he would.
My eldest daughter leaves for college in Amsterdam tomorrow. We weren't sure she would get to go because of covid, passport delays and so on. My youngest is finally seeing the errors of her wayward drinking and smoking. She is exercising daily and going to visit my dad in NYC. He is in dire need of company because his cat recently died.

I'll add a few: 1. It's supposed to be a high of only 82 tomorrow! woo-hoo, a cold spell! (but seriously, I am so looking forward to it). 2. I'm on to water our church garden all this coming week, and it's supposed to rain all week. hahaha (I sign up to do it because I like watering...but still I'm happy when it rains and I don't have to drive over there). 3. My Nintendo Switch arrived yesterday and I'm going to set it up tomorrow! 4. My dh had to go back to the office because of several crises overseas but there are only 2 or 3 of them there at any given time. And he can still work from home for most of the things he has to do.

The RV trailer we'd ordered a year and a half ago that was supposed to be built in March is now done and paid for. We thought we'd have to wait for the USA-Canada border to open up before we could get it, but they'll deliver it to our door!

I'll give it a go....
My youngest dd is home from VA for a month and half!!!!! We have been having fun just being in the same room together again.
My BFF and I have been able to walk together almost every day and I LOVE it!
Even though my DH no longer has a job and has been on several virtual interviews with no results, I'm secretly estatic that he is home with me all day!
My oldest dd turned 23 this week and all though we only had 1 friend over she had a fabulous day.
Thank you for all of this, it's so easy to get caught up in the bad and forget all the simple goodness.

There’s some really good news here! Thanks everyone for sharing!
My boys are getting along very nicely these days. Most nights we spend all dinner laughing over silly stuff.
They have me watching Avatar:the last airbender with them. I don’t care but they are drilling me over what I learned from the episode and what happened last time.

Yes, I have major concerns about flying. I am hoping that both of them will be very diligent about wearing an N95 mask the whole time. The eldest has to go so she has time to quarantine. The youngest has recently drifted from her party hardy friends and I want to give her a change of venue so she has a chance to stay on the straight and narrow. My dad has already had covid : (

He is doing fine, but his cat had to be put to sleep so he is feeling sad and hopes that some time with a granddaughter will cheer him up. Last time she visited him he took her and her friend to Bendels and Bergdorf Goodman and various other Sex and the City locations. He is a good sport. I still crack up thinking of him in chi-chi stores on 5th Avenue.

We get to pick up our new dog in a week!
Picked her out about a month ago but had to wait for the breeder to finish some health tests and trials. She's a started hunting dog.
We've been "nesting" and buying all kinds of stuff for her like expectant parents.

I got a hair cut! I had not had my hair done since February. It was gray and brown on the top half, blonde on the bottom half. I am letting it go gray. It's going to be a nice white, so yay for that, too.
My friend and stylist came to our house and cut my hair and DH's on our patio, wearing masks.
Oh, and I lost 18 pounds since I retired last summer. Mostly it's walking on the treadmill daily, but a good part is from quitting my stressful job.
