I've been doing some sorting and decluttering around the house. I realized that we have:
keyboard violin 4 clarinets (A, B-flat, E-flat, bass) flute piccolo 2 guitars 2 nice recorders (DS plays in a Baroque ensemble; the third grade Devil's flutes are long gone)
Just wondering what other people have.

You have quite the musical family! We used to have a piano and a cello, but those are long gone due to lack of interest and/or downsizing.

Nope! 😀 That’s quite a collection! I know -- it didn't seem like much until I added them all up. The only things that don't get played are the guitars. DH's hands don't work very well anymore. Everyone in my house has played at least one instrument, although DD hasn't played her flute in years. I sold it to partially fund one of the clarinets.

One guitar that is my sons. (Thanks for the reminder, I need to get it out of my closet so he can take it with him when he moves into his own place!)
Oh there is probably a recorder somewhere in the house. (bwwhaaahaa)

I have a piano, a keyboard, three violins, two guitars, a tambourine and a karaoke machine. No one in this family plays or sings a note nor ever has.
My piano is a 1903 Baldwin and all carved and beautiful, I just like looking at it. The keyboard I bought when my husband and I decided we need to learn to play...but we never did. The guitars we were going to learn when all of our friends were musicians and singers and they tried to teach us. The violins I used as wall decor. We are absolutely not musically inclined.

Yes. We have:
- A piano that no one has ever played that came from MIL’s house - A recorder that we bought DD for school that has yet to be used because school closed before they had a chance to get to that unit - A homemade dulcimer that DD made in school two years ago - A brand new trumpet because DD had to take either band or orchestra this year that also hasn’t ever been really used - An acoustic guitar that DH bought from a client who makes them by hand - A ukulele that DH bought DD for Christmas last year that she never took an interest in learning.
As an aside, I took piano lessons for a few years as a kid but lost interest and never kept it up. DH played trombone all through high school in the band but never continued playing anything after that.

One guitar left over from DD's brief guitar playing days. DS took his keyboard, guitar, and ocarinas with him. I think he had a recorder too.

2 pianos 1 digital piano 2 trumpets 4 or 5 acoustic guitars 1 electric bass I think we may have a violin around here somewhere too . That's what we own. My dd also brings home loaners from school during marching and concert band season, depending on which instrument she's playing.

When all the kids were still living at home, we had:
Bflat clarinet Bass clarinet Full drum set Snare set Electronic drum set Trumpet Base guitar Electric guitar Upright bass Tuba 2 acoustic guitars Mandolin Keyboard Melodica Violin
Music was kind of a big deal in our house. All three kids had several years private lessons on the instrument of their choice plus school band from 6th grade through 12th grade. The reed instruments belonged to our daughter. The percussion belonged to our youngest son. Everything else was associated with our oldest son, who we accused of having musical ADD. To his credit, he did teach himself how to play most of the instruments.
We actually based a car purchase on if the upright bass would fit in it.
Currently, we have an acoustic guitar and I think the keyboard is in a closet in the boys' old room.
Huge shout out to music programs in public schools. All of our kids had amazing opportunities thanks to their participation in band and orchestra.

I have a Steinway Grand Piano (L size) (made in 1941) in our living room. It has been well maintained, and has ivory keys in pristine condition . It is a beautiful instrument, and one of the ❤️ Of my life.

the third grade Devil's flutes are long gone Hahahahahaha! Devil's flutes is the perfect description! The only thing I'd compare it to is oldest son, as a toddler, riding his trike, breathing in and out through a harmonica, over and over and over and over...The harmonica may or may not have gone missing.

Yes, we have a lot. I play nothing.
But in dh’s office/bonus room he has an electric upright keyboard, saxophone, and a lot of guitars. I don’t even know how many? At least five, probably more.
Dd1 has a keyboard, guitar, and Ukulele at her place And dd3 has the three same instruments at her place.

We have a music room/guest room:
1 Piano (out of tune and a few keys are broken, but it was my grandmothers) 5 acoustic guitars (and amp) 1 electric guitar (and pedal boards and amp) 1 ukelele 2 keyboards 1 euphonium/baritone 1 violin a handful of harmonicas possibly a recorder somewhere (ds is the only child I have ever heard play a recorder in elementary school and it actually sounded pretty. Of course, he is the only child who did not pursue music any further!)
Music is our love language!
My husband has given away his trumpet and an acoustic guitar to make room for more!

Those awful recorders that our kids had to buy for school! And an old piano that my husbands aunt was getting rid of. He played as a kid, but no one else in our family plays. But he can't say no to hand me downs (frustrating, haha!). So it sits in his section of our basement. As you can tell, I am not musically inclinded, and I am one of those who get bothered by noises. I don't know what I would do if one of the kids decided to play an instrument!

3 electric guitars 2 saxophones 1 violin 1 clarinet
All three boys took symphonic band and jazz band. My kid who is off to college is studying biochemistry but also hopes to minor in music. He got the music department award and took 7 years of music while in high school (including choir, AP music theory, jazz band, concert band etc)
