We finally have clean air, but meteorologist said the smoke might return this weekend. ☹️ For now, all the winds are wide open.

We were in the 200's yesterday and I felt like I could breathe again finally. And I saw the outline of the sun glowing dimly through the haze for the first time in days. Today we're back up to 496 and there is no air movement at all. So ready for this to be over and I'm praying for those who have suffered so much here on the west coast.

163. First time under 200 since last Thursday.
It sucks so bad. It's giving us all headaches.

207. Still very unhealthy, but getting better. I hope it continues to get better and that they can get can get the fires contained and that it actually rains to help out the fire fighters.

How’s everyone doing today?
Our air has improved to the 160s, but its still gross out. Also, a question: After having my place closed up for over a week, I would love to open the windows. The lowest temp my place has been during this is 77 degrees and I’m just so over it and it’s stale feeling. Is anyone just saying eff-it and opening windows for a while?

We opened our bedroom windows on Wednesday night and regretted it for several hours later but I am supersensitive to smells and smoke. Maybe you could open your windows and then leave a bathroom or the stove top fan on? That might help lower the temp but move the smoke out. How are your window screens looking? Ours looked like a science experiment so we washed them off earlier this morning but now the sun is coming out.

And my window screens needed cleaning before the smoke 😆

I’m near Portland, and we finally got some lovely rain (and thunder) last night! Dropped the AQI to 136, and I cracked open the windows as soon as I got up. Feeling like breathing is easier for the first time in what seems like forever. Still praying for everyone who has it much worse, and now who have threat of flooding

whoa.. i was just looking around the western states and mammoth lakes, CA is 570, with a note that it's beyond the measurable limits. thinking of you guys out west who are really dealing with this! in MI, we just got a little haze from the fires earlier this week, and pretty sunset/sunrises.

Wow. 570 is frightening. Those poor residents and firefighters.

Boy, it’s all about the air flow, isn’t it?!! We’re hundreds of miles from wildfires with worse AQ.

The smoke is now coming up from the desert floor. I haven't checked our AQ again. I don't think I want to know. The fire is too close for comfort. Friends are being evacuated.

I'm so sorry about the air and your friends! Are you packed and ready to go if it comes to that?

Oh and a baby update from Seattle. It's lightly drizzling out but the AQ is still in the 160's. However they're saying things should be markedly better on Sunday night. I'll admit to getting my hopes up now that I'm seeing actual rain.

We have good air quality today, but it still seems like we are still dropping ash. Hosed down everything and need to wash our cars as I’ve read that the ash is really bad on the paint. Hope it starts to clear for everyone else.

AQI is 23 in Seattle this morning. Hallelujah! We’re socked in with rain and fog, but I’m still going for a long walk and breathing in all the air I possibly can! I haven’t spent any time of note outside for nearly 2 weeks.

We are in the moderate range today at 63. So much better! It’s just a bummer it’s cloudy with only a 20% chance of rain. I’d love for a good rain to knock it all out.
