I’ve read places in nyc and DC and boarding up their windows. I live in St. Louis and didn’t really think about it happening here. On my way to the grocery store this evening I noticed a Walgreens boarding up their windows. That was the only place I’ve seen so far though.
How is it where you live?

I live just north of San Francisco and yes, things are being boarded up. I suspect the same is true in Oakland.

I live in St. Charles. I haven't been in St. Louis, but I have heard that businesses are boarding up. I'm not surprised since there is often unrest and protests. My bosses husband is a St. Charles policeman, so I will have the inside scoop if there is violence here. It doesn't make the news, but it has happened several times this summer. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around all of this.

I have a FB friend who works at City Creek Mall in Salt Lake. It's mostly high end stores. She posted a video she took today of stores boarding up in anticipation. I wonder if insurance companies are telling them to take some precautions against loss.

There is a tea place we like in downtown Seattle. They shared a picture on social media today that showed their windows had been boarded up by their landlord.

Downtown Portland is boarded up. We have been boarded up to due to the marches but there have been more boarded up in anticipation of the election. We had a lot happen when Trump was elected - and I can only imagine what it will be like downtown if he get re-elected.

I haven’t checked my own little burb, but saw plenty of boarding up in Bellevue, WA on Sunday. I imagine there is even more so in Seattle.

Beverly Hills and Hollywood both when I was out and about last weekend. But the Beverly Connection was ravaged this summer, so it is not surprising. Sad, but not a surprise.

On the news they showed a lot of boarding up in Beverly Hills. Other businesses are doing it too. I can't believe it might actually be a thing.

I work where the BLM protests happened here and drove home an hour ago, and things looked pretty much like they’ve looked from what I could tell, but I wasn’t specifically looking to see if new places were boarded up.

I’m about 1.5 miles from our DT (Seattle) retail core and a friend who lives DT (Belltown) posted on his IG today showing more businesses being boarded up again. Many businesses have not taken them down after all the protests in the summer. Then I was just texting with a friend and she mentioned she was DT this morning and that it was unsettling to see all the boarding up going on. So unfortunately yes. I’ll be curious to see tomorrow if anything in my neighborhood decides to board up.
Never in my LIFE could I have imagined an election like this one. NEVER.

What I can not understand is after everything, how is this not a huge, gigantic wake-up call to the GOP? How are they okay with what he has turned this country into? What they have allowed, heck, what they’ve helped with? Party over country...the evidence is right before our eyes. Small town outside of San Antonio here, an extremely red county but I doubt there will be any boarding up even though we have had the trump trains for months.

Never in my LIFE could I have imagined an election like this one. NEVER. no kidding. Never. I haven’t been into downtown Phoenix recently since I’ve been 100% telecommuting since March. Dh goes downtown to his office and hasn’t seen any businesses boarding up their windows. That’s more in the corporate business area though and not the retail areas and shopping centers. we’ve both heard the warnings and updates to bring outside furniture at work inside and that there will be increased security for the next couple of days at least. It makes me glad I am working from home and my kids school is a short distance away through a residential area. these are the same questions people ask when a hurricane or in my area, a haboob, are headed our way. Not because people are voting. Good grief I hope tomorrow isn’t going to not be as wild as people are expecting. Plan for the worst but hope for the best.

Yes, in downtown Seattle. I catch my bus home from work right downtown and the businesses all along 3rd ave are now boarded up. There are blocks and blocks of boarded up bars/restaurants, etc in historic Pioneer Square, but those were boarded up months ago when Covid shutdowns started. You can tell the difference because the covid related ones hired artists to make gorgeous murals on the plywood. I have dozens of pictures of the beautiful artwork there. The newly boarded up storefronts have plain plywood and were just put up a few days ago. I also got an official email from the city saying that if I own a business or construction site, I should move everything inside and secure it prior to tomorrow afternoon.
