Not me, but my BFF's sister is good friends with Robert Carlyle, who might be best known in the US as Rumpelstiltskin in Once Upon A Time. He's been in lots of things, and even played a Bond baddie!

Nope but Bob Seger lives a few miles away from me now. Now that is cool - does he grocery shop??? Lol. I have never seen him there, but my dh almost hit him a few years back when he was riding his motorcycle to the polling location (school) 1/4 mile from my house. That would have been so awful on so many levels, even though he veered into our lane. His kids went to the high school that my dd went to but she didn’t really know them.

the two best known from my year in my high school was David Guterson--a novelist best known for "snow falling on cedars".. that book came out and was reviewed in Time magazine the same week as our 20th reunion. we had lots of classes together in jr high and high school. Richard Karn (Wilson) went to my grade school, jr high and high school.. I knew him very well in grade school.. he starred in our drama program.. it was a big program. he was on home improvement.. has a new show coming in the spring. Several of my classmates have published books..I know best Chuck Wolfe.. who is an urban planning expert. One of my classmates and grade school buddies is a state senator in WA--claire wilson.
I went to a big high school in Seattle.. we had 40 kids in our class who became lawyers.. one was the mayor of Homer alaska for a while.. and one computer science professor and a friend became a philosophy professor. If bill gates had gone to public school, he would have been in my high school class. he grew up not far away.

Franky Ballard went to my high school. I graduated before he entered high school but a few friends had younger siblings that were in his class so I knew the name.
My parents went to school with a NFL player but I can't remember who. They had a couple other famous names in their school but I'd have to look it up.

I graduated with an Academy Award nominated director, producer, screenwriter. He has won numerous international awards, including at Cannes, for his work. David Foster (music producer) was at least 10 years ahead of me so I don't usually count him. A former president and COO of Yahoo was a classmate/friend of my sister and a couple years behind me.

I went to high school with Martin Lawrence and also one of the guys that invented Google.
Pat Sajak lives relatively close to me-I could walk to his house (if I had the code to get behind the gates, lol. I have seen him in my Safeway.
Jim Henson grew up in my neighborhood but was much older than me.

Seth rogen went to my girls’ elementary school but many many years before them.
21 Jump street was filmed at my high school when I was a student.
Ryan Reynolds went to a high school in my neighbourhood.
My kids dance at Michael J Fox theatre. It’s attached to his old high school.
But I didn’t personally go to school with anyone famous.

My Mom was a friend of the mother of two from the Barenaked Ladies band. Not from school though, about 10 years ago.

When I was in middle school in Kansas we went to the high school for a performance by their drama team and Paul Rudd was in it. He graduated before I moved up to HS.

Went to high school with several winter olympians. And a former high school acquaintance now has a hit remodeling type show on NBC-hasn’t hit hgtv yet so he’s not really famous though! 😀

My sister always joked she went to college with Brad Pitt... they both went there... a few years apart ... she didn’t know him though and wasn’t famous at the time so she doubts she ever ran into him... lol
She used to go trick or treating with the now Denver Broncos QB, Drew Lock... her kids are the same age as he is, they were neighbors.
My claim to fame is not worth mentioning 🤣

Kate Capshaw was my brother’s second grade teacher, before she divorced her husband, who was the principal of our school. She moved away and married Steven Spielberg a short time later.

Not the same school, but I knew someone in high school who just got a Tony nomination for a leading Broadway role.

I went to school and was really good friends with world renowned Trumpet player Ryan Anthony. He passed away earlier this year after a very long battle against Cancer.

I grew up in the same small town as Chris Pratt. He is MUCH younger than me. Funny story, DH were at a movie and the preview for the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie came on. I had no idea who he was at that point. I leaned over to DH and said, "He looks like a Lake Stevens boy!" Later, I found out he was. Crazy.
Hillary Swank was a 7th grader in the school where I student taught. She wasn't in my class.

I went to high school with Judy Watanabe of Judikins - she graduated a year before me. That’s as famous as I can remember. Our high school’s claim to fame is that it’s the high school The Beach Boys went to - “Be True To Your School” and all that. But that was before my time.
ETA: I have an old friend who is related to James Brolin and so by marriage, to Barbra Streisand. She says she’s nosy 😂

These threads are always fun! It's been a long time since we had one. elaine ---I'm dying to know, since "Brady Bunch" was my all-time fave----were you pals with Susan Olsen? Julia Campbell was a year ahead of me in high school in Northern Virginia. I didn't know her, but one of my closest friends did. She's had a longggg and varied career! This is just a portion of her IMBD--I had NO idea how many TV shows and movies she's been in! She was even in one "Friends" epi back in 2000---that must have been a thrill for her.

Sammy Hagar went to my HS but years before I was there. My BIL went to school (same HS) with Travis Barker (Blink 182). Our HS had some pro athletes, no superstars though.

I LOVE James Brolin in "Life In Pieces"---I have a feeling he is NOT at all like his dingy character! That's a funny tidbit to learn about Barbra. My claim to fame is not worth mentioning 🤣 Awww.....c'mon, we wanna know! cadoodlebug ---I remember that cute pik from a thread years ago. I just loved Bette's glasses; my older sister had the same kind. Did they keep in touch throughout adulthood?

How funny, I worked on a couple sitcoms with Julia Campbell, a gazillion years ago. They never got off the ground, but I do remember her as being very sweet and down to earth.

Andy Reid (KC Chiefs coach) went to my high school. He was a year ahead of me. Carol Lin from CNN and Anne Marie Johnson from In the Heat of the Night were a grade behind me. I’ve also seen my high school in several commercials and movies. The carnival scene with the funhouse from Grease was filmed on the football field.

Are you an actress, or another job in show biz? Or maybe you don't want to tell us and give away who you are? Oooh, do we have a celebra-pea amongst us? P.S...this reminded me of the old board where we'd speculate if any celeb scrapbookers lurked or posted.
