Was Mrs. Jewett the one that was pregnant? Or was that the teacher next door? Lisa...can't remember her last name student taught there, as did another student teacher named Rose. Rose and I ended up in the same district and she taught at the elementary my youngest son went to. She just retired. I was with Mrs. Schlicting, down at the end of the hall by Mr. Kok. I was there from September to March, but subbed in the building a few times until the end of the school year. Mrs. Jewett was the classroom next door to the teacher that was pregnant. I can't remember her name. So if you went out Mrs. Schlicting's room, walking down the main hallway in the wing, we were on the left, Mr. Newman's room would have been on the right, and the pregnant teacher farther down on the left. I remembered Mrs. Schlicting. My two BFFs were in her class, which was annoying because they had opposite lunch (it was because they were in Band. Mrs. Schlicting and Mr. Kok had the Band kids). LOL, crazy things to be discussing on a random message board. Right? Funny story: the teacher who was pregnant (Penny?) went into labor early, so they pulled me from student teaching and rushed my credentials at WWU so I could take her place for the rest of the year. Went through all of that red tape only to find a principal's wife wanted a temp job and so they gave it to her. Totally bummed me out because I missed the last week or so with my class! Oh, and I currently teach with the nephew of the FMS principal at that time. I'm dying to know who your friends were in Gretchen's class.

I found my 6th Grade Yearbook. It has pictures of the student teachers! And lists them by teacher. So Miss K? LOL. Mrs Stephens was the other 6th grade teacher.

If you are familiar with Cody Alan from CMT. He graduated my freshman year.
I won a contest the summer between 8th grade and freshman. I won tickets and backstage passes to see KISS. The radio station I won this all from, he worked at. Part of my package was getting to be a DJ for an hour on the evening program and then a dinner at a steak house. He went with us to the dinner.

Nolan Ryan (baseball player) was in HS with me, in the class behind me. He once gave us tickets to a Texas Ranger vs California Angels game when he still played with the Angels. His wife is a cousin to someone who married into our family. This is one of those "six degrees of separation" things - I didn't go to school with him, but my old chiropractor when we lived in another city years ago was the official chiropractor for the Texas Rangers. I said to him when he told me "You mean that hands that have touched Nolan Ryan have touched me?" He laughed.

My yearbook from that year is in a box in the garage somewhere. This has been such fun!

Timothy Olyphant is on my laminated list, lol! What is a " laminated list" ? oh yvonne ...I would have thought the same thing about Susan Olsen-- that's sad that she didn't chat with or play with anyone. Having a laminated list I’m pretty sure originated with the TV show friends. Ross carried a laminated list with the names of five famous women he was allowed to sleep with if ever given the chance (and it isn’t considered cheating). On TV you will hear it referenced every now and then, it’s just a pop-culture thing. Kinda silly but also fun to dream up your 5 people. 😊

The biggest jerk in my graduating class is now famous for one of those fad diet supplement companies.
Heather Locklear went to my high school but she’s much older than me. It’s only noteworthy because our town and school were really pretty small.

Larry King's son Andy King, he died recently and Ellen Sachs, a distinguished USC Law and Psychology Professor, author and renowned mental heath advocate who lives with schizophrenia.
A few famous people lived in our neighborhood though I did not go to school with them. Anita Bryant(creepy), Clint Howard and I think occasionally Ron Howard. We lived near Ivan Tors Studio where they made "Flipper" and "Gentle Ben", Clint Howard starred.

I'm pretty sure the only famous person that ever attended my HS was Tanya Tucker (country singer), but it was 10+ years before I attended. I went on a couple of dates with Greg Maddux (baseball player- he attended a neighboring HS) while my now DH and I were on a break ('83, I think). I have a friend that is famous, but I met her through our kids going to HS together. We were fellow marching band moms.

Closest I can come is Glenn Campbell’s last wife’s younger sister was in my graduating class. Kim Woolen graduated before I moved to NC and before I was even in high school, do no direct connection.

No one very famous. My next door neighbor was a MLB pitcher. Drafted to the Giants, IIRC. He pitched for many teams, among them the White Socks and Astros. The entire family was so kind, and all 3 kids very well behaved. He sang a mean Def Leppard chorus into an oscillating fan They moved quite a while ago. And now a prepper lives there, quite the change for mom. And Ricky Trevino, a country singer, was 2 years ahead of me and his band performed at our middle school dance(s). He had 3 or 4 Top 20 songs. Super nice guy, at least when he was younger. I don’t know if he went to same high school, as he was not among my (many) crushes.

I went to high school with Calista Flockhart who starred in Ally McBeal and then went on to marry Harrison Ford. My DH and I were watching Melrose Place and the announcer said something about coming up next the premiere of "Ally McBeal" starring Calista Flockhart. Turned to DH and said that's so funny, I went to high school with a Calista Flockhart, There must be two of them because she was shy, quiet and not in any school plays that I could remember. Calista was one year below me in school. I know the guy who took Calista Flockhart to prom! His son and my son played soccer together in middle school. It has been a few years since I’ve run into him, but it’s a story I remember since I loved Ally McBeal.

I went to school with Victoria Osteen (Joel Osteen the televangelist's wife). When she had her kerfuffle with the flight attendants a few years back, we all were saying, "now THAT is the Victoria we know!"

Do I admit my claim to fame? I grew up in the same small town that Ted Nugent lives in. I partied with his daughter in high school. I have met Ted many times. Hahaha! I have met him several times as well. My husband's family owned an archery shop for years and he always visited when on the west side of the state and we always saw him at trade shows. He was very strange, but always plugged our shop when he did radio interviews, so we had to pretend to like him! ;-) lol ole Ted gets around in Michigan, doesn't he? haha! At our lake house up north, we have his old phone number and still will occasionally get calls asking for him. Not sure if he still owns land up there, but for the longest time he did and we would run into him from time to time during hunting season.

My brother was on Days of our Lives for five years and won a Daytime Emmy for his role. He also starred on Babylon 5 for five years along with a number of Lifetime Channel productions. His roommate in college was Forrest Whitaker and our family attended parties thrown by Melissa Gilbert and Bruce Boxleitner. He dated Michelle Green, who starred in LA Law.
My sister dated Jerry Rice once or twice and my other sister went out with Charles Haley who was playing for the 49ers at the time. We used to see the football players at a club in the Bay Area all the time.
I’ve met Bill Mummy and Stephen Nichols (Patch on Days of Our Lives)
