Wow what’s going on in Michigan?? Their cases are really climbing. One guess? Combination of relaxed restrictions, not high enough vax rate yet and the UK variant showed its ugly Covid face there. 😕 That’s just a wild guess.

Wow what’s going on in Michigan?? Their cases are really climbing. Well, Detroit. International airport, several colleges and universities that have recently finished spring break, and general non-compliance on the masks. If you look at county by county, it's the east side of the state that is concerning, for the most part. Over here on the west side, mask compliance is still pretty consistent.

Spring break was not kind to us in our province. Our numbers and hospitalizations had dropped but after the Brazilian variant started to spread during spring break due to kids / parents / families getting together inside our numbers are now the highest they’ve been. It’s upsetting. I now know 3 fully vaccinated people who have contracted what is probably the Brazilian variant so I’m sure there are others. It seems to spread quickly amongst young people, even the kids. Our schools have been open since sept and this is the most worried I’ve been with my kids in school. I will not allow my kids around my vaccinated parents until we know more information about the variant.
Masks are everywhere here. I’ve started asking my girls to wear a mask outside in certain situations as this Brazilian variant doesn’t seem to know when it’s inside or outside. I will be happy when the vaccine is approved for 12 and up here.

Jackson and Lansing were both on the NY Times list of top ten cities with rising covid rates. I live in Lansing and I can say most people are masked here. I think the college is having problems again even though they've opened up vaccines to everyone and they have a big vax clinic at the MSU horse pavilion. I was in Jackson this week to have some work done at my car in a body shop. And none of the people in there were masked. And then I drove thru the arby's for dinner in Jackson and nobody in there was masked either. I threw the food right away. But it's not all Detroit with the problem. And it has been stated that high school sports opening up has caused the biggest increase.

The 17 year old and the 11 year old didn't. She said she felt so bad she wished she was dead. And I've seen on Facebook team photos were kids are all close and not masked. It's upsetting. Sports are not vital.

Australia - my state (Victoria) has had very low or zero covid cases for the last 6 months and we've been wearing masks all that time but finally we are officially mask free for everywhere except public transport & ride share vehicles. Although staff & visitors are still required to wear them in hospitals
It feels so odd to be walking around without a mask after almost a year. I have a fairly big personal space, and I loved the social distancing and people not standing close and breathing all over me....I wish we could keep that!

Gah, every parent I have on my friends list that has a kid in sports sent me an invite to at least three different "let them play" groups. I declined them all which got me unfriended by a few. Every single one of them hate the mask mandate and drove off to any state that would let their kids play. "Sports aren't the problem!" Yeah right assholes. You're the problem. Most of them have taken off for FL as well this week. Fuckers. Yet, not a single one of them put that much energy into the performing arts and trying to get band, theater, or choir to be allowed again despite having kids in those activities as well. Nope, sports is all important!

My governor also ended it but I was happy to see Target and Frys and several local business require masks. It protects their employees and I feel we should at least wear them through April if not May. I went to the stores this weekend and the majority were wearing masks. It’s so simple and just for a short time in a store it’s not that bad.

100% here in CT, but we're still mandated.
My dd and I were in PA last week and stopped at a Sheetz and not one person going in was wearing a mask, so we opted to not go in. I was shocked - we counted 10 people going in without masks and not one with.

I was at Target yesterday and just about everyone had a mask on. And most businesses still seem to have signs on the door noting that masks are mandatory.
Outside, though? No. I was the only person (spectator wise) wearing one at my daughter’s softball game the other day. I was sitting close to the dugout, though, so I thought it was appropriate.

Meanwhile the band kids, cheer kids, robotics kids, etc etc etc sit home and twiddle.

I am in a small town South of Houston and I would say less than 10% of people in my town are wearing masks, but the percentage wasn't much better prior to the mask mandate being lifted. The school district where I live made masks optional at schools last week so clearly the virus is over here.
For the last year, we have avoided restaurants and stores in our town. DH and I work in a neighboring school district and our kids attend school there as well. In that area, I would say we are closer to 50% masks and our school district is still requiring masks.
But overall, our entire area is mostly Republican including our county judge (highest county official) who bragged about not having we worn masks except on a handful of occasions and admitted to hiding his own Covid diagnosis while sending his child to school against the schools Covid policies.

Masks are still mandated here and I’m very grateful for that. The majority I see here are wearing them, although I do see the occasional uncovered nose. I try and stay far away from those people! I’m counting down the days until my vaccine appointment!

Thankful, yet again for living in a blue state. Masks mandated here and pretty good compliance, although I am definitely noticing more people out and about, especially in restaurants. We have been fully vaccinated ourselves, but still not comfortable sitting in restaurants.
Sports started up here again, but everyone still has to mask. Are those of you upset about sports in areas where mask wearing isn't required for that? My nephew plays baseball, but everyone is masked and no spectators are allowed outside the car. My little friends are in soccer, but everyone is masked, teams are very small and we have to stand with our family groups in a socially distanced manner while watching. I have no problem with sports staring under the conditions we have.
Band my family members do virtually and that doesn’t seem to be a problem, there is no way they could do band in person except for percussion.
Schools are just returning here, and only either half days or 2 days a week,

I was out yesterday with DH running a few errands (bank, library, dispensary and grocery store) and we spent 3 hours at Barnes and Noble. It's the first time we've been to B&N for awhile (that's the place we go for date night). We had a few hours to kill in between errands so we decided to go there. Everywhere we went inside and some even outside, everyone was wearing their masks. I didn't see one person without mask and there were more crowds out yesterday than I've seen in a long time.
We've been very lucky so far as far as mask wearing goes. Here in Annapolis, MD everyone I've seen has been complying quite nicely. Our governor on March 9th, said that the statewide mask mandate "remains if full force and effect". The article I read said he was loosening some restrictions as the numbers go down but that the mask mandate would remain.
When we were in Barnes and Noble yesterday DH and I were up in the cafe section with our coffees and our books. Up there they allow you to take off your mask for a very short time so you can drink your drink or eat. We never eat there-just get a coffee. While I had my mask off to take a sip of coffee two people walked into the cafe section and gave me the dirtiest look for not having my mask on. I wanted to tell them why but my shyness kept me back. I figured they'll figure it out.

I haven't seen anyone without a mask in ages. I've been out and about in the city the past week, and I haven't seen a single person maskless inside or outside.
We had a big outbreak of the Brazil variant on Cape Cod -- our numbers jumped up recently.
I keep saying this, but we got hit really hard early on here. The death and sickness was horrible, and that was before we had tests or any treatments. Thank God we learned from it, because these variants are going to hit hard where people are unvaccinated. We're vaccinating record numbers, but are still not there yet.

Wow what’s going on in Michigan?? Their cases are really climbing. Well, I saw on social media that one branch of my TN family were hosting their extended family from MI for at least a week at their home. All sorts of pics of them all together out and about in restaurants, at church, at the roller rink, all huddled close together for photos and not a mask in sight. It’s so depressing to know I’m related to these people. 🤪

Still masking here in Ontario. I have seen only one person without a mask in a small grocery store, in a very small town. It really surprised me.

Wow, what a bastard. We have our anti-maskers etc. here but we Canadians are rule followers for the most part. So masks are still worn pretty much everywhere indoors.

I'm in Oregon and we are still mandated to wear masks but people are growing weary and several businesses have stated they are not going to enforce the mandate. I actually appreciate that so I know where not to go. I am growing weary of self-righteous jerks not considering the health of others.
My DD's dance studio has been pretty diligent except the last few weeks the other office worker and one of the dance teachers started wearing those mesh rhinestoned ones that aren't actually offering any protection. And that same teacher has kids touching each other during dances. My DD got moved to the back row of a dance because she said she didn't feel ok about being part of a lift. I was proud of her for knowing we are working together to protect each other and crabby about the teacher even putting kids in that position.

In more populous parts of GA, yes, but in more rural parts usually not unless the store requires it.
We never had a mask mandate and people were often assholes in the beginning but are pretty good now. Now that more and more people are vaccinated, I expect masks will once again disappear except for those who feel safer in them.
I wear one everywhere except the gym and while eating out but am ready to be done.

I will probably still wear a mask in public even when they don't have a mask mandate. I feel that until young kids can be vaccinated, even if I am vaccinated, I don't want to take a chance of passing anything to them. It seems like I am always hearing something different about whether vaccinated people can still pass on the virus, so until they know for sure, I will wear a mask. But masks don't bother me and I think I look much better with a mask.

Still wearing masks in NYC and Long Island. I rarely see someone without a mask while shopping. Our daily number of new cases and rolling 7-day average are at the same level compared to last year at the same time.

I am in Seattle and everyone, everywhere is still in masks. It has only been for a few weeks now that some of my craft stores have allowed walk-ins (eg, my sewing store was appointment-only).
I will say that my twins had a soccer game in the suburbs yesterday, and the other team was not wearing masks. One of the families on our team pulled their kid and went home.

Our numbers are going down and I know there are some that will go inside without masks and then try and cause problems but I really haven't been anywhere lately where people weren't wearing them. Of course I am trying to avoid going in stores as much as possible even though our numbers are down. We did see one person at Home Depot an older employee that just got there and another employee reminded him and it sounded like he really had just forgotten. I was just happy that the store was pretty darned empty as our microwave died and didn't want to wait until midweek to attempt to shop. I am seeing on a local republican's page where she was telling where you can get vaccinated, most responding were claiming they weren't going to get them so I expect there will be a lot here not getting vaccinated I assume these are the same that all along were saying that there weren't that many really sick and its just the flu and wouldn't wear a mask. I really hope our numbers don't spike again and continue to go down as there will be enough that do get vaccinated. I don't want to go anyplace where people aren't wearing masks.
