About 500 miles one way. I hate driving and it’s hard for me to do long drives. I have to stop every couple hours to get out and walk around a bit or I get too road weary when I’m by myself without anyone to talk to.

About fifteen years ago I rode my motorcycle home alone from northern Ohio to South Florida, about 1200 miles one way. I bought it from a dealer up there so flew up to ride it home. It was an amazing adventure, scary at times but amazing.

I've driven from Phoenix to LA by myself. I was around 21 years old. I'm perfectly capable of doing it again, but I'd prefer not to. Now my max trip is around 3 hours one way (around my state). I can't imagine going on a road trip for purposes of "road trip" and continuing without my companion.

When I was 23 after college grad I took a solo road trip from San Jose CA to Nelson BC (and over to AL for one night) and back with many stops in between over a 11 days period. I loved it.
ETA: I looked on google maps and looks like to was about 2500 miles round trip.

From MI to NC which is about 850 miles each way. I was in my early 20s. Before that 300 miles from lower MI to upper MI.

Drove to Phoenix for a scrapbook event many years ago. It was about 350 miles each way by myself.
Drove to college in Northern California when I was 17 but my boyfriend was with me so not alone. My car and I think I did most if not all the driving around 800 miles each way.
I’m not a huge fan of driving by myself but it’s much easier now than it was when I drove to college thanks to gps vs triptics snd paper maps.

In college (this would have been 2000), I drove a bunch of times to visit my then-boyfriend . I was coming from LI and I drove to see him in CT, so it was about a 2-2.5 hour trip I did by myself, with my printed MapQuest directions on my front seat. I loved it!

I drive from central Texas to western Michigan and back every summer, which is about 1350 miles each way. I usually do it in 3 days, just me and my large dogs (who do very well in the car but are major pains the rest of the time). This year dh drove me (I gave him a 3 hour nap) because I was still recovering from a likely case of breakthrough Covid, we drove straight through in about 20 hours.

I did several trips from CA to IN and IN to CA by myself in my 20s. I can't see ever being willing to do that again. Dh and I spent our first 4 years doing the long distance stuff. Every third weekend for a year I drove from San Francisco to LA and back in a car with no radio. 😳
Ds just drove from LA to Boise by himself in a car he had had less than 24 hours. He is 20, but has only had his license for about 8 months.

I've done 6-8 hour drives many times by myself. I don't like to go much more than 6 hours straight, because I get sleepy and distracted after that. If I stop for the night, I can go another 6 hours the next day. With another driver, I've done the Massachusetts to Florida or Louisiana drive a few times.

This year alone I've driven from Niagara Falls to Cape Cod, NF to Fort Wayne, Indiana, NF to Plattsburgh, NY and NF to New York City. Each trip was between 350-400 miles each way. A few of those trips my daughters were with me, but they don't drive yet. I love road trips, but 8 hours driving myself is the most I can do.

I’ve done a lot of long trips alone or with young kids.
My first was a move. I started in Riverside, California, to somewhere in Kansas where I met up with DH who was coming from Alabama (ACSC). We then drove both cars to Minnesota and then both cars to New Jersey. So literally coast to coast, but was with another car half of the way. We did the same driving from New Jersey to Colorado, Las Vegas to Montgomery, Alabama, then Alabama to DC, DC to Boston… that’s how you get two vehicles to your new destination. I’m not one for side roads. Time and again, it’s been worth it to just stick to the main roads. Navigation is easier, you can drive faster, roads are better, and there are gas stations and food stops. I always use my credit card when I stop to leave a digital trail.
Then once we had kids, I’d go home more often. DH always had a hard time getting away. When DS was 1, DH was writing his thesis and it was really distracting having us in the house. So DS and I drove to my parents, about 1,300 miles. And then back home again. I know I did the same when DD was about 1. So two kids from Colorado Springs to Minnesota and back again. I think that was only about 1,000 miles each way. DH was in the Middle East and people couldn’t believe I would drive that far by myself.
I’m not a huge fan of driving. I think it’s boring. But sometimes you just need to do what you have to do to get it done.

I'm comfortable with 8 hours of driving at a stretch. My longest solo trip was 13 hours straight. One of the nicest things my husband ever said to someone (this was a high praise from him--LOL) was in an emergency he could ask me to drive to any point in five neighboring states and I could do it old-school, without a GPS, by using maps. Map-reading skills were on his relationship bucket list .

I’ll drive any distance alone. I enjoy driving and am a competent driver even in adverse conditions. I don’t bat an eye at the idea of a long drive alone or with others.
The longest I’ve done is 10 hours alone once. I routinely do 7-8 at a stretch.

I only drive about 4 hours alone, because I tend to get sleepy. I've taken multiple cross country trips with friends or DH.

Returned yesterday, from my furthest driving to date. I am in PA, drove to Emerald Isle NC for vacation, with my DS11. My parents have been going there for years - I decided this year I was going. Brought back memories of going to the beach as a child - was wonderful. Going to NC, it was a nice drive ..... until I got a flat tire!! Yep, stuck on I-17. 30 min away from Emerald Isle. Grateful for AAA .... and a spare tire that wasn't one of those dinky ones.
Coming home .... felt like a long drive. Felt good having this trips in the books, so to speak. So glad I went.

Completely alone in July 2021: 485 miles one way.
I have also driven 1,190 miles one way with only someone else driving for 2 hours of that very LONG trip. We did it yearly for about 12 years.

My first solo road trip was at 16. 500 miles to our family’s lake home. That would have been 1991.
I wouldn’t hesitate driving anywhere by myself.

When I was single I traveled alone a lot. I was in the military so moved to new places with no family or friends. This was pre-cell phones. Just me and a map. My longest solo drive was Washington DC to Nashville. I was 6 months pregnant and my soon to be in-laws insisted I finish the drive to West Texas with my BIL (they were in Nashville and I stayed overnight).
I love a road trip and still keep a Rand McNally map in my car, just in case.
ETA: As I’ve gotten older, I don’t like to drive in unfamiliar places in the dark or in the rain. If it’s dark and raining, I’ll wait it out until it’s light.

Probably about 250 miles, in the fog. It was the longest 6 hours of my life.
Whether I would continue on if someone I was with had to stop would depend 100% on the circumstances.

I had a summer job in New Hampshire while living in Manhattan with my husband, so I did the round-trip a few weekends a month driving myself; it was about 5.5 hours each way, and it sucked.

About 1800 miles round trip (many many times) between Georgia and Wisconsin. When I'm driving alone, I don't try to do the one-way trip in one day - I stay overnight to rest.

I may have driven once or twice to my dad's, which would have been about 500 miles.
I've done a 300 mile trip alone, pre-Google maps and only early cell days (so no coverage anywhere I would have needed it).
When I was just out of school, my first job was about 200 miles away from where most of my family was, so I did that drive a lot. Had to choose the one cell company with coverage along the interstate corridor I was driving.
I don't mind driving--I prefer it to being a passenger-- and am confident that I could do most drives, but I can read a map and will have scoped out multiple route options ahead of time.

I don't think I've ever driven more than about an hour by myself. Just never had reason to. I drive that hour every day to work and I hate it. I do not enjoy driving very long at all. It's boring. I much prefer being a passenger so I can read, play on my phone and really enjoy the views. Not stressing about traffic and idiot drivers.

Yesterday, I drove 833 miles from seattle to my house in san francisco. some of that was in rain... and fog. I drive that every few months.. one day up, one day back. so I drove up on monday. I was coming back on friday but changed to saturday. I drive the 800 miles to sun valley idaho all the time too.
way back in the 1970's, i drove by myself from seattle to boston for an internship--took about 4 days. with my maps. and change for turnpikes. then a few years later I drove back.. but took 2 weeks, and drove all over through virginia, then colorado and utah (where I went skiing) and then from salt lake city to seattle in one day.
we use to take car camping road trips as a kid so I was used to that model.
I used to drive 6 hours to take a kid to college, turn around and drive 6 hours back.
I don't mind it.. I have my ways to keep alert.
