NSBR girl here who has been enjoying a little card making recently. I’m hoping you can help me out with a card base, or card stock to make my own.
I did a search here, and two threads about where to buy card stock for card bases came up. But I didn’t see the actual shade of the white mentioned in either of them. I recently purchased some card bases from Amazon, and I ended up returning them because the white was too cool for my taste. Because I was in a pinch, I used Bazzill canvas texture in white (because it’s a nice, neutral, soft white) instead and made my own.
Do you have an online recommendation for a white card stock (100#-ish), or pre-scored cards, that is not bright white, but doesn’t feel like it leans too warm or cold. Just easier on the eyes than a bright blueish white. Does that make sense?…whites come in so many shades!
Thank you!

I used to swear by Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, but then I discovered Accent Opaque cardstock on Amazon. I bought some to use for non-stamping purposes, but ever since using it, I've noticed that the Neenah has a strong yellow cast to it, compared to the Accent Opaque. From your description, I think that the Accent Opaque I use might be considered too cool/blueish for you, so maybe the Neenah would be better. Before having the other to compare, I liked the Neenah a lot, but now I prefer the Accent Opaque. I've also used Papertrey Ink Stamper's Select white and I think it's a more neutral white, not too yellow and not too blue. I've made this offer to other people before, but if you'd like, I'd be happy to mail you a sample of each so you can see them in person. I know how frustrating it can be to buy paper online without knowing how it will look in person. I'm sure there are more Peas who will chime in with their own opinions, so hopefully after lots of people answer, you can get a better idea of what might work for you.

I agree with your suggestion of Papertrey Ink white cardstock. It’s a lovely weight without being too cool. MichyM I have PTI and Neenah solar white. I can send you a sample of each if you’d like?

As much as it pains me to say, I agree, Papertrey Inks white card stock is the best. I HATE their business practices and as business women they suck but their paper is the best in the biz.

Speaking from my own experiences, their shipping used to be SOOOO SLOW! Like you'd order something and it wouldn't ship for 2+ weeks. They are no longer the "hotness" that they used to be, so shipping speed hasn't been problem. I order from them 3-4 times a year for cardstock and their stitching dies - all my orders arrive in a week (I'm on the west coast and they are in OH). ETA: I'll place them in the mail this week. MichyM Let me preface this by saying I have not purchased from them in years. I got fed up with the way they treated their customers. Here are a couple threads I found here and one from scrapbook.com. I'm sure there are a lot more but you'll probably have to dig for them. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/92095/ricks-posts-on-pti-forum2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/70926/nicole-heady-leaves-papertrey-ink?page=1www.scrapbook.com/forum/?m=topic&tid=155249They, Julie & Jane, think their customers are lucky to shop with PTI. They treat customers like shit. At one point their customer service and order issues were so bad that they decided to just DELETE all the customer service emails and they announced this on their forum! Basically it's buyer beware. If there are any issues with your order, do not expect them to make it right. Also, most of their design team quit all at once a few years ago. They must have signed NDAs because none of them will talk about what happened. Ever since then, their stamps pretty much suck. Betsy Veldman, who now owns The Greetery, was their cash cow and when she bailed, I think their designs turned to crap.

Michael's Recollections brand has a 110# white card stock that is just a tad shade greyer than the Neenah Solar White Classic Crest that I prefer. It's still white, but not quite as white. I use it for card bases. I've used all my stock or I would offer to send a tester.

I was going to say something similar. I used Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White in 80lb on the card I sent you. Jennifer McGuire had a nice video showing and explaining the difference between a lot of white cardstock. I actually usually use the 110lb, but was out when I made my cards. Here is her video: Jennifer McGuire Video

I don't have a suggestion for a warmer white but will tell you that you'll probably want to avoid the Joann brand white cardstock which is bluer than Neenah.

Super helpful that some of us just participated in the VDay exchange 😀
