That makes me sad. I haven't kept up with PTI much lately but I remember when it was all the rage years ago. I followed Dawn McVey from the first time I ever saw her cards and continued for years until I moved out of the industry when my own life went through changes in 2010. Since being back I have kind of forgotten about PTI sadly. Nichole has been around for very long time! I wish her the best.

I haven't kept up with PTI these last few years, either. I used to order from them quite frequently when they first started up. That's sad to hear that Nichole's leaving. I'll go read her blog. I have no idea what's been happening at PTI.

I was shocked to see this today. I haven't followed papertrey as closely as I used too. And I agree, something has felt "off" when I did visit her site. She is such an inspiration.
I watched the team farewell video. I guess Nichole lives in Maine. I thought she lived in TN.
She will be missed in the industry.

I loved their product. I never had an issue with their shipping or what have yous. But their product has gone down hill. A couple stamps I ordered do not have a crisp image though the design should be crisp. I have heard people complaining about their dies lately. Its too bad.

I buy 92% of my cardstock from them. I hope they don't close.

I was sad to hear this too. Haven’t bought much recently but I still have a lot of PTI products. I’ll miss Nichole’s designs because something has definitely changed in the last year or so in terms of style. I just don’t see the company continuing long term without Nichole there.

I thought she owned PTI? I also thought she had built a house in TN, not Maine. I'm really sad to see this....although I haven't purchased from them recently, I own a ton of their products. They built that house in TN then earlier this year they moved to Maine where I believe Nichole grew up.

I just found out about this, and now her blog automatically redirects to the new PTI blog so I couldn't even read it.

I just found out about this, and now her blog automatically redirects to the new PTI blog so I couldn't even read it. She really didn't give any details in her post about it, she just wished her former partners the best. It's a shame if we can't read her archives, though - she had many beautiful projects on there that I use as inspiration from time to time. SaveSave

turangaleela and marg I believe all the content was copied over to the new blog so you should be able to find it there. ETA if you look in the archives section of the new blog, it goes back to May 2006 when Nicole started her blog.

I saw on the PTI forum a post about Nichole's new role, which she mentioned on Instagram. What she said was:
Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of support that I have received in response to my recent resignation from Papertrey Ink. I sincerely appreciate each text, email, card and call. You have all made me feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to leave an impression on so many lives. It has been amazing to know that a job like that could touch people in such a special way without my even knowing it. With the end of that adventure, I'm pleased to announce my new one. I have accepted the position of Production Manager at Maine Media Collective, which publishes Maine magazine, Old Port Magazine and Maine Home+Design, as well as other special issues. Anyone that knows me also knows I've had a love affair with magazines for nearly my whole life. And to discover these thriving publications focused on all things Maine specifically was a special treat after arriving here. These magazines not only share stories, they make you *feel* them with the artful way they string together words and images. There is something so special and so endearing about Maine, and they are capturing that in a beautifully pure & honest way. From the high quality paper to the stunning photos, they are truly the best of the best at what they do and prove every day that print isn't dead.
In my position I will be managing the ad designs and their placement in each publication. It is an exciting, high pace environment that surrounds me with passionate, caring, fun co-workers. Their offices are located right in the Old Port facing Casco Bay, and I almost have to pinch myself each morning when I arrive to work. So looking forward to this new chapter and grateful to everyone that helped me to get here.

Thanks for sharing that she has gone back to the magazine world anniefb. I love PTI cardstock, too, warrior1991. I still have plenty of PTI stamps & dies but haven't been overwhelmed with their releases for the last couple of years. There is a ton of competition out there now for the stampers to choose from and I think it hurts PTI that they don't have product available through other stores or ever offer decent sales. It will be interesting to see how they survive. Slight hijack, but nicolep have you been following Dawn's health issues the last couple years? She is recovering from a small intestine transplant and IGs regularly (haven't been to her blog in years, so not sure if she is documenting there too.)

This is an old thread but for those who like me used to buy from PTI they are now having sales all over the place and have a big Last Call section on their site. Looks like they are retiring sets as recent as 2016. I’m not sure if they are liquidating or just recreating themselves. Anyway lots of sales if anyone missed some sets they always liked. They also are having small YouTube flash sales with new sets that are stamp and die bundled. I had some points to use up from buying so much card stock on a recent 15% off sale so I bit on one of those bundles.

I have been a huge fan of PTI for years but I feel like their current style isn’t quite my style anymore. I really loved their paper and the quality of their products. I was always a bit frustrated as a customer because of slow shipping and constant issues with inventory. I still will be sad if they were to go out of business.

I have only made one purchase in the past three years from PTI. I ordered close to 30 packs of pattern paper in January 2017 when they were discontinuing their old packs of PP. At a dollar a pack, they were a fantastic deal. Even with shipping, I paid less than $40 for everything. The down side was shipping was soooooo s-l-o-w. I waited almost four weeks for my package to ship, plus another week for it to arrive.
I don't want to see PTI fail and I hope they continue as a business, but their shipping issues need to be resolved.

I bought 26 lbs of their paper last month when they had a sale. It cost less than half of what I would have payed for Neenah . Also got some colored cardstock in some basic colors. I figured I’d stock up just in case.
I used to order stamp sets ever month but stopped about a year or so ago. I’m not sure if I changed or they changed but it just no longer appealed. I wish them well and hope they continue to sell paper.

And let's face it there are so many more companies out there than there were 10 years ago. Companies like Concord & 9th appeal to me a lot more at the moment.

I have 1 stamp set of theirs and I hardly use it. The rest aren't my style. But I LOVE their cardstock. I'm waiting right now for a delivery of cardstock. No shipping notice, had to sign in to see that they shipped it on July 2nd, but the tracking info never updates. Sigh. Good thing I'm not in a hurry.

I like the cardstock too warrior1991 although last year I made a change from stamper's select white to Neenah because it's easier to find. But I love the coloured cardstock.

anniefb I used to get white from them too for card bases, but I buy it in bulk now from a large paper store in Minneapolis. I buy their chocolate brown, poppy red, indigo blue, and black in the 50 count packs.

I may be looking for a new source down the line.

Was it here or SCS that the line of thinking that the company would be gone around this time of year? I know it wasn't an antagonistic thread, lol. It was more of a business discussion. I know they had a lot of bad rep over the years. I am sorry their company is closing. I hope their employees find great jobs and lots of new adventures if the company does close. Crossing fingers for you PTI fans that they might be restructuring, or selling to a new stamping company.

Not closing as far as I know but I assume there are fewer people buying things as they are doing a lot more marketing and events than they used to (Facebook live and YouTube buy it live events, mid month product releases and extra specials. And the number of comments on reveal posts are certainly down from the old days on Nichole’s blog.
