What is something you have bought that has turned out to be worth every penny you spent on it? I'll start w/ three things that come to mind: 1. My Brother P Touch desktop label maker that the Peas (you know who you are **GypsyGirl** ) recommended. When I ordered it, I remember thinking "Will I really use it that much?" The answer is "yes!" I use it all the time. I reorganized my pantry last week and I pulled off all the old labels I had applied to the shelves to indicate where everything goes and I applied new ones since I had rearranged things. The labels came right up and didn't seem to damage the woodwork at all. 2. My kitchen aid mixer. My husband bought one at Costco the other day to give our adult son for his birthday. A woman said to him "Someone is going to be very pleased. My husband and I got one for a wedding gift 30 years ago and it's still going strong." My husband smiled and said "My wife and I have been married for 32 years, so our kitchen aid has yours beat by 2 years." 3. Our boat. When we first bought a boat twenty five years' ago, we heard tons of jokes about the two best days of a boat owners' life. (The day they buy the boat and the day they sell the boat.) However, we've traded boats several times since that first boat and we have many great memories of time spent on the lake w/ our family and friends (and a few bad times too, but I won't go into that ). So what are some purchases (big or small) that have been worth every penny you spent?

Breville: toaster, large capacity food processor, countertop convection oven. Worth their weight in gold. (I hate buying inexpensive small appliances only to toss them in the landfill a short time later, etc. Quality products are well worth it.) Also love my Brother label maker.

Kitchen Aid mixer - 23 years and still going strong Nespresso machine - I spend way too much money on coffee, but it makes me insanely happy. Sunday Basket from Organize 365 - I tried making my own for a while, but so worth the $99 I spent. I'm way more organized and calm at home.

There was something not along that dh said “you gotta admit….that was a good purchase”, but I’ll be damned if I remember what it was 🤦🏻♀️ It may have been our trailer, not a camper but a utility trailer for hauling stuff. We got it, probably 15 years ago, when dh sold his truck and got an SUV. It has been very handy to have. Now he’s back to a truck so I’m not certain we’d replace the trailer if it became unusable but we’d probably miss it from time to time.

Roomba. I held out for years and years because I didn't think it could possibly keep up with our pets. But instead of needing to vacuum daily (which, let's be real, I almost never did - it was usually every 2 or 3 days), the Roomba goes 2x/day, I take <1 minute to empty it each day, and vacuum thoroughly on the weekends. The floors look better than ever.
Also, we recently bought a 2022 Palisade. I was sure I wouldn't like it but DH really liked it and once we test drove it, I decided I liked it too. It seems like an ungodly amount to be pay for a Hyundai but I'm officially a fan. The room, the bells and whistles (my previous car was a 2014 Acura and though spec'ed out at the time, tech has changed A LOT since), the comfort, and shockingly good handling for a vehicle its size. The whole family is happier. DS used to complain about car trips longer than an hour or two, but when we took one several weeks ago, after 7 hours in the car, he said, "That didn't seem long at all, I've just been vibin' in my zone back here." lolololol There's plenty of room for all of us, the giant dog, AND cargo/luggage. It's a pleasure all around.

My Air Fryer - I use it almost daily Jimmy Choo patent pumps - Rarely do I spend over $200 for shoes, but these are so beautiful and surprisingly comfortable Kindle Oasis - So worth the extra money. I would be devastated if I lost mine.

I recently bought a pair of Hoka shoes to wear when I hike. They are the most expensive shoes I've ever bought, and they are AMAZING. Sooooo comfortable. I love them, and don't regret one penny of the money I spent on them.

What is the good things about the Oasis? My favorite thing about the Paperwhite is that I can read it outside in the sun. Can you do that with the Oasis?

"Baby" Shark vacuum (like Roomba but cheap).. one day I'll spring for a Roomba.
Hey Dude shoes.... I'm addicted and now have four pairs.
Kitchen Aid.
Air Fryer.. (finally something that I use once and that is it).. this was a kitchen game changer. Over a year and probably use it 4 times a week. So it is a keeper.

I bought my first Louis Vuitton purse over 10 years ago. I used to carry it all the time but as I bought more purses, I rotate them in and out. I pulled my first bag out of my closet Saturday night and carried it to dinner and love that is in perfect condition and classic in design.

Not bought per se…but made sure that my car included the package that included heated seats. By far the thing I have tried in the last 6 or 7 years that I talk up and would not go without if at all possible.

Headlamp to wear when I cut the cats' nails. That thing is So bright, and the light is always right where I need it because it's pointed where i'm looking. Not to mention the essential freeing up of my other hand. I told DH I wanted one for Christmas last year, and he got it for me, but he was pretty skeptical. It's been amazing. Of course now the cats aee me put it on and go slinking out of the room, but I can usually fool them by puttign it on in advance.

Ninja Foodi - I love that thing and having a steamer, rice cooker, slow cooker, pressure cooker, air fryer all in one means it's been used several times a week for the past 2 years.
Dyson rechargeable vacuum - it gets used multiple times every day because is it light, works well, and has a 45 minute charge. So much easier than my larger vacuum and cleans better too.
Kai Shun knives and top grade non-stick fry pans - I was too cheap to invest in good knives for years, struggling with keeping mid-range knives sharp and usable. What a difference good knives make! We use a fry pan on a daily basis and again the mid-range pans would begin to stick after about a year or so, only to be thrown out and replaced. Investing in a top grade non-stick pan has made all the difference. it has made all the difference. Going on year 4 and still as slippery as day one.
Apple Products - They just work and for a long time! If I've needed customer support, it has ALWAYS been top notch. For example, my husband picked up a discarded 2019 MacBook Pro from work and the keyboard had a few keys that were sticking. Not good when programming. Apple is replacing the keyboard, battery, and the lower portion of the case at no cost. We have many Apple laptops that have easily made it to 8+ years and were only replaced to upgrade memory, speed, and HD space, but still worked. iPhones, iPads, and Macs work seamlessly together and the ability for all devices to work together have greatly benefited my efficiency as a professional, student, and in my personal life. I was a PC diehard until the early 2000s, when I got my first laptop through the school district, and never looked back since.

Mine are all kitchen items. Breville food processor. Kitchen Aid Mixer. I did upgrade to a larger one last year but the old one from the mid 90's still worked great and we packed it up and put it in the basement to give to dd when she has her own place. She's pretty excited about it lol. Wolf range. I love it, love it, love it! My birthday present last year. I'm not a shopper, other than books and Pyrex, I spend very little on clothes, makeup etc, but I do love nice kitchen items and can finally afford them. ETA I'll throw in my Kindle. SO convenient to take everywhere I go and especially when traveling, not needing to haul a ton of books. That said, I found the Nook I had previously so much more intuitive. I'm not sure why but I struggle sometimes with the Kindle.

I upgraded to an iphone 13 (from a 6s) in May. What a difference! Everything works so much faster and better.
This week, I’m grateful for our portable AC units with this heat. We only used them a few days, but it was worth every penny.

There truly aren't a lot of options out there if you have a big dog or multiple dogs, plus a family, and need some leftover cargo room even when the dog is in there. The Tahoes, Suburbans, etc. are some of the relatively few options and I will never own another Chevrolet and the GMC versions are ridiculously priced IMO. Plus their gas mileage is abysmal (not that the Palisade's is great lol). My last three vehicles have been Acuras, and I thought I'd get an MDX this time, but I really didn't like the new ones. Plus the cargo space was too small.

I can picture you wandering around the house telling the cats you just enjoy the extra light, and it has nothing to do with them.

I quickly read your post and misread it as to wear when you cut cattails. I couldn’t figure out why you had to cut them in the dark. 😄 I bet a headlamp does help with the nail cutting job, though.

I love my label maker, too.
I bought the Ninja creami on Prime day and we've already gotten a lot of use out of it. It's perfect for summer treats!
We just bought a replacement motor for our AC and paid the extra $45 to have the part shipped overnight. In the middle of a 90 degree plus heatwave that will probably last a week or longer, totally worth it. We also bought a window unit to use until the central air is fixed. Sleeping comfortably last night was totally worth it! Our finished attic does not have AC, so we will move it up there after.
Our sailboat - We built it through a marine docent boat building program, so we didn't spend a lot on it, but totally worth it. We've gotten a lot of use out of it and all of my boys learned how to sail.
My minivan. I procrastinated for the longest time. We had a Ford Explorer that I absolutely loved and I didn't want to be a minivan driving soccer mom. Its so comfortable and has so much more room, it's totally been worth it.
