I have a cartoon that I clipped years ago that shows two women sitting in their wheelchairs at the nursing home. A nurse calls out names of patients to come take their medicine. The names are Brittany and Tiffany. I laughed because those names don't "feel" like grandma or senior women names but I know there is a whole generation out there that have those names. So, what were your grandparent's names and what is your kid's name (s)? Any name that will seem strange when they age?

Audrey, Robert, Herman and Bernice. My grandmother Audrey’s middle name was Birdie and she hated it, so she always told people it was Melinda.

Ejner and Else - maternal grandparents from Denmark
James and Louisa Viola - paternal grandparents from Kentucky. Louisa is not pronounced like Louise with an ah sound at the end, it's pronounce Lou-eye-zah, and the two names were her first name. She hated it, and as an adult she went by Mama Toni.

John (Jack) and Jean, Clifford (Cliff) and Phyllis. Jean's first name was Lucy but for some reason she hated it, so she went by her middle name.

The names of my grandparents and their siblings: Florence Mabel Nelly Esther Eileen Grace Olive Norma Doris Joyce Elsie Jeanette Cecil Ray Charles George Reginald Les Alan John Most of those names are very old fashioned. John, Alan and Ray were still used for boys my age (born late 60s). Some of the girls names from my grandparents' generation are coming back. I know a Grace and an Elsie who were born in the 2000s. I also know of a Nellie born last year ( AllieC ).

Mary Ellen and Harry Florence and Peter (but step-grandpa David was the one I knew) My GenZ kids have names that fit in well with that generation - Grace and Margaret GenX names in the nursing home will be fun, but not as fun as the current crop of young kids with names like Bryxleigh and Rhyat.

Margaret was my grandmother and her sister was Grace. Grace was a big family name and it should also have been my name, but it isn't. I wish is were, Ive always loved that name.

My maternal grandparents were Henry known as Hib and Mattie George who went by George. (Yes, my grandmother's name was George. Lol.)
My paternal grandparents were William Jasper who went by Jasper and Birdie but she preferred it as Bertie.
